      It's actually not that bad but either way if we're making some things with coconut the added bonus usually is having the milk along with it for other uses
      Usually though it's far easier to just get coconut milk powder it does the same thing, sometimes you don't have someone to wack open a coconut

    You have to invest in a coconut shaving device. There's the manual option and there's the electric one.
    The first press is the best coconut milk. The first press is not using any water. The 2nd up to 4th press maybe, you just have to rehydrate, not doused in water, until it doesn't look milky.

    To actually get a pure coconut milk, don't put the meat with water straight to the blender. Grate it dry first. Put the grated coconut milk into a bowl and put warm water then strain it with clean cloth. After straining the coconut milk, put back the grated coconut meat from the cloth to the strained coconut milk then press hard to strain again do it 4 more times to get pure coconut milk.

    1. use a machete to crack it open
    2. scrape the meat off with pangkayod or use a food processor to grind the meat.
    3. soak the grinded meat in a little warm water.
    4. squeeze the coconut milk out with your hands.

    A gentler way to crack open a coconut?
    F. Pierce through two of the nuts eyes. Pour out the water.
    G. Preheat the oven to 200 C. Place the nut on the oven rack for four-five minutes.
    H. Take the nut out of the oven with a thick kitchen rag. It is hot! Use this same rag to wrap the nut entirely;
    I. Gently hit the nut around against the hard surface of a granite floor.
    J. Once it cracked open, use a dull pointed knife and stick it one cm or so between the nut flesh and the hard shell.
    K. Pry the knife and large chunks of coconut meat will come off.

    For people in cooler climate this might be a new idea, but in places where coconut is grow and produced locally like Indonesia, many local vendors and traditional markets has their own coconut grater machine that'll do this job.
    They sold freshly-made coconut milk but you can also ask for fresh shreded coconuts and make the milk at home.
