I'm sure it'll BLOW YOUR MIND completely. I've checked some colorblind filters and deutan and protan see almost no red tones. When he says thatnis so RED he means your yellow or blue, but red. VERY distinct.
Months before i got him the glasses we heard about Enchroma and checked out the site. They have a test there. Told us he's Mild Protan. He thought he'd have to by the glasses himself so I thought it would be a good surprise from friends and family. ha So were know what he had. Crazy seeing what he couldn't see on that test.
You need to be, there are different tyes of color blindness protan and deutan I believe, so you need to know their precise condition to order the correct glasses/lenses. That's very important!
Out of all these type of vids, you chose the most perfect 'reveal' setting...beautiful, natural, nothing that will assault his senses. He truly could appreciate it all. So happy for your friend !
Tne one common action I've noticed watching all of these Enchroma videos is that after the initial shock, the person immediately wants to walk around and explore their new world. So amazing!
Just stumbled upon this video, and the red tree in the video is in front of my first house. Love reading the comments about the video. Yes, that's Deep Cove in North Vancouver, and yes it's stunning :) So proud of home. Happy for the guy in this video.
You used to live in that house?? If that's true that's awesome! I wish I could be living in Deep Cove now. But alas. I'm too young and poor for now lol Glad you enjoyed the video.
The red leafed tree in front of the house is a Japanese Maple. I've seen lots of them here in Southern Califonria as well and it's due to the fact that the leaves are bright red in contrast to the different variations of green one normally sees. It's mid Spring time and there are some trees growing called Jacaradnas around here all showing off their deep purple flowers. I really would love to visit Vancouver, BC sometime. I have a cousin who with his wife and kids lives in Vancouver, WA.
Every pair of glasses should come with a free grayscale pair that match what their friends vision is like, so family and friends can appreciate the difference.
You live in a gorgeous place. I hope you appreciate how beautiful nature around you is. Living just outside the city is not as nice. Congratulations to Robert! He has some great friends and family. I wish him many colorful days.
+KalvinKingdonsVids2 I'm colorblind, so it looked like it had 0 green, but with the glasses the video looks like its yellow-green :) Just got mine yesterday. heh
For my it´s yellow. And I´m not colorblind for sure. BtW: The borders of color´s name change from culture, country, language to culture, etc... There are a complete block of English "blue" and "green" that in Spanish are changed in "green" and "blue". And people can call "yellow" that other people (Seeing the same) call "green" It´s only the point where you put the start of the other name Pretty sure that no one understand my :)
I love this video. The medical info at the beginning and the scenery. Wherever you guys were was just beautiful. Most of all, I love his reaction. The sheer awe in his voice.
+BlueFromSky There was a number of clues in this. At first I thought British Columbia or possibly Washington state. The BC license plates and the word "eh" at the end of sentences narrowed it down to BC. The word Granville popped up which is a place in Vancouver. And then of course he did say Deep Cove at least twice.
That's all I can think of. These people seeing colors for the first time act exactly like they're tripping on lsd. I'm not color blind, but I know what it's like to see the world for what feels like the first time and being in awe at its beauty.
Kalvin, you are a really good friend, and you did this just right! I hope Robert has all sorts of adventures seeing all the beautiful colors! Wow! What good guys you both are! Thank you for posting!
Wow, I was going to leave a comment about how beautiful your town looks and where it is but then I find out it's Vancouver. Like an hour away from where I live lol. I need to get out and see the province more. Anyways, love your friends reaction! I'm binge watching all of these Enchroma videos, and this is one of my favourites.
Wonderful to see people's reactions to these glasses. Wow. The people that came up with this technology must feel so rewarded to see all the happiness these glasses give to people.
I didn't know these even existed. The reactions, like "is this what you see all the time?". Are priceless, so lovely to see people reacting to what the rest of us take for granted, lovely, thankyou for sharing.
"Is this what you see...all the time? " Man, the things we take for granted... I live in a tourist industry state. People from all over the world come to my state and take pictures of EVERYTHING...and they trip out on rainbows. They've never seen a rainbow other than the little ones in lawn sprinklers. I have a new appreciation of where I Iive.
Okay I no this was 5 years ago now but I have to say everything about this is beautiful, his reaction, you not overcrowding him and letting him discover it all in his own time and the town your in. I looked up photos immediately after and my god its a stunning place. I hope your both doing well
Such a great thing you've done for your friend! And omg, what a beautiful video and scenery you chose for your reveal! Where are you guys at? Simply beautiful! Exciting for Robert!
well i'm incredibly jealous! Not only of the scenery but the opportunity you've given your friend! Being wheelchair bound, i havnt had m any opportunities to go out in nature up until recently. Been going out on a hand cycle and doing various running events with a friend. And everytime we're out on the trails, i'm a lot like Robert, just curious about everything, absorbing my surroundings. So it was exciting to watch your video and share your experience. Ever since i've heard of these glasses I always thought it would be amazing to find a colorblind artist, and surprise him with these glasses and just sit back and watch his mind be blown, but then ask them to do a picture or painting and watch how the unique ways they would use and incorporate those new found colors. Anyways, thanks for sharing, and was a great vid and location!
That's awesome that you're now able to do those things! May I ask why you're in need of a wheelchair? I can't imagine not being able to fully appreciate something like a run on a trail :( And technically Rob is an artist. We both studied vfx for film and television. And we're both working in studios. Imagine having to work on some cool effect for a movie and never seeing what it actually looks like. ha
They really choosed the perfect spot to let him use these glasses. It´s already a beautiful view in itself, I imagine it looking beautiful without being able to see all the colours (like we can appreciate a beautiful black/white photo as well) but now with the colours added? Must be magical
CAN YOU IMAGINE THAT PLACE AS THE FIRST THING YOU GET TO SEE with those glasses??????!! It's beautiful for everyone but that would more then blow anyone away.

7:46 - "It's so RED!" He's right. Those leaves are exceptionally red, even for someone with normal color vision.
I wish he had kept his leaf in his pocket for later so he could look at it for hours :)
I'm colorblind and that scenery looks amazing! I can't imagine looking at it with those glasses! What a beautiful place!
I hope you have been able to get a pair of these glasses by now.
Yea i hope you got yours by now.
Get some! About $350. Color your world!
