You have alcohol there, why don’t you clean those edges with it before putting the sealing on ? That’s why the adhesive of the sealing doesn’t stick so well on the frame. Next time clean those edges you will notices the difference

I like the trick of rolling the adhesive around the screwdriver. Does this replacement affect the waterproof rating on the phone?
I think so, yes. Though they still put adhesive on the phone, I think it’s more for the screen to just stick in place. And not for water-proofing anymore.
It won’t and never was waterproof. As long as you install the new seal for the screen dust and rain drops shouldn’t be able to enter

You should have shown us the iOS firmware version. I think it is iOS 14.x.x. because Apple has now blocked third party battery replacement. If you replace it, no battery percentage will show up. It also pops up some annoying spare part error on your screen occasionally.

Yeah but the reason he disconnected the screen was so that he can put new back the adhesive lining, protects the insides from dust and water. Not sure how waterproof it would be but atleast its something.
