This is so true, another issue with rec randoms is when no one looks at the graph before the game to see matchups. Not just you but your teammates and the other team. I’ve seen dudes guard dudes tight like white on rice that shoot 12% from the 3 or don’t have no 3 ball. You can’t make this shit up 😂

Like freaking rotate and play help defence! But it’s so hard to play rec games with people who actually can play defence!
Its never about matchups in 5v5 rec or pro am. If mfers care so much about keeping their matchup from scoring then play the 1s court all day. 5v5 is a collective effort to get stops as a TEAM, so if a guard is cooking his defender everytime and takes it to the rim, the center should always be a presence in the paint and just hope a teammate will rotate out to your matchup. Even if its a shooting center, thats not an excuse, play your role and get stops in the paint and not hug your corner so tight
I lose games because people suck at rotation if I go to help. People dont get the concept of picking up a man when people help and switch. So unfortunately unless my man can't throw a rock into the ocean and said traffic cone's ego doesn't want to switch off it will be a constant downhill
You boy are not lying. It kills me in random rec i pick someone's man up and next think i know they are standing right next to me like we doubling instead of switching. Now my man just scored a easy lay up . Or off the pick i switch and they see me sticking with their man and they just let my man roll to the rim for 2 because they assumed since i was playing they man they no longer needed to play defense
from my experience on 2k: -if you have no steal on your build you never leave your man you just try to bait whoever close to you -if you have steal on your build you must learn how to play on lanes and anticipate opponents passes -also you almost NEVER HELP from the strong side corner without defending the passing lane to it
Helping on defence in random rec doesn't benefit you, everybody is guarding their own player and nobody ever switches. I would switch on defence if other people had some common sense

I always tell people rebounds and good defense and good screens and most of all assit! that's how you score !!!! With a A+ grade i do it all the time and i dont care about points if it comes fine but other than that im a team player! That likes to win ! If i see my teammate has a advantage and is better than his opponent...im giving them the ball the whole game !
You sound like me when playing with the fellas, one guy made a build with no defense, you rotate to help him and ur man scores, he says, where's the defense SMH The backdoor cuts should only work once maybe twice, most people if dunking is higher than his 3's, he mostly likely is looking to dunk more often, how's it still working in the 4th qtr? SMH How does he go 11-14 on backdoors? Crazy

While i agree with rotating and most of what you said. playing no squad random rec, you'll run into some of the most egotistical people on earth who will ice you on offense because they feel that you helping them on defense is an insult. You have to get lucky to have teammates with basketball iq so you dont get burned for helping out. I've played against nutso a few times and he had 20+ on 100% shooting one game against me and you know what happened? The team all got on the mic and said stop helping and just stay on your man. So while i agree with the message it's purely on situational basis.

@@marauder3831 I was talking bout screens in general not necessarily what was shown on the clips you posted, in a perfect world you would be right in playing help defence but we are talking 2K it’s the same reason you can’t play Zone defence, to many moving parts, not enough teamwork. The reason you wanna go over on a screen is you’ll chase the ball carrier off the 3pt line and even if he breaks to the basket as long as your trailing him, you’ll send him right into your center. Centers love blocks so will usually come over to help, this is one way you can force your teammate to help
I'm a 4/5 and I can play in the dunker spot and guard the backdoor the corner the midrange corner the short roll and the ft line all while standing still you can also help on wing pull ups or side fades from there there's a reason why smart defensive players shut half the floor off at once and can flat out murder spacing @@edwardwhakatihi1226
