I have to keep maintaining it by repairs, since there’s always an issue 😂. Just replaced the battery a few weeks ago, as I still had its Original 9 year old battery. Fun fact: the A7 chip in this phone was known for having overheating issues. It ran so hot a lot of times that the phone would slow down in performance. At least that’s my experience.
How much was it to replace the battery because I’ve been thinking about replacing the battery on my 5S because it’s been years since I replaced it and I’m lucky if I can get a few hours of battery life from it i use it as an MP3 player so it’s not that important but it is nice to have
Camera and video honestly were really decent all things considered. I had the 5S, what a trooper of a phone. Apple’s phones tend to age well outside of the battery
My first iphone was a 5s, switched to it from a much larger and on paper better specced LG G2. Hard to summarize but the iphone felt so much more premium in every way despite having a much smaller screen and ostensibly lower specs, that I have been loyal ever since, owning a 7, an XR, an 11 Pro Max and soon a 14 Pro

It was already quite surprising it was usable back in early 2019 when I got one for like 40 USD for a backup phone. I would have expected it to be absolutely obsolete over 3.5 years later. The fact that there's still a bit of life left in it, even if that were to change in a few months, is absolutely impressive.
The iPhone 5S is the oldest iDevice that Clash of Clans still runs on. If that game is important to anyone that needs a new/old phone the 5S could still work great
I actually used an iPhone 5s 32gb until the end of 2019 it wasn't actually that bad except for it's camera and battery life. I replaced it with a Nokia 6.1 plus which I still use till today
I collect iPhones and mine broke. I’m gonna need to buy a new one on eBay. Space grey 64gb mint condition. I used that phone from 2015 to 2021. Amazing phone! ❤
I still have my Iphone 5S as a backup phone if my current SE2 break down . Facebook , messenger , interne , camera works . calling and sending SMS is possible , I don't need more things from phone :) .
I remember upgrading my 4s back in 2016 to a 5s I got refurbished for $150. It was a good phone. Lasted me until 2020, when I gave it to my brother who broke his phone, who ended up losing it in a lake. Using an SE 2020 right now, been my daily for about 2 years and that’s fine
I had to use an iPhone 5s for majority of 2022 just to get me by. I was lucky to get an upgrade because the 5s battery was expanded and was stuck on the apple logo.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned that Apple released a security update for iOS 12 less than a month ago! Which means that iPhone 5s got a security update 9 years after its release! I find that absolutely incredible. If you take a 9 years old Galaxy S4, when the last time it got an update?
5s was my first Phone. Same color and screen too. Great phone, old IPhones were tough as nails. I still have my 5s in a drawer. Currently using a newer phone as usual.
I still have mine. I normally connected to my Bluetooth speaker and use it as an MP3 player/iPod touch, while I’m doing other stuff on my regular iPhone 12.
That was the first update after nearly a year. I doubt that Apple still fixes all security issues in iOS 12. So while this phone may still work for a lot of things, it probably isn't really secure to use.
I’m still using the iPhone 5S in 2022. Got it brand new for my 15th birthday back in 2015. In fact, it’s my first ever cell phone. I guess my first phone is still my only phone
I would actually seriously consider abandoning Android for iOS if Apple were to release a modernized and jailbroken version of the iPhone 5S called the iPhone 5GS. The nomenclature would be inspired by the device offering support for narrowband and ultra wide band 5G mobile data, but under the hood, everything would remain almost exactly the same as the original iPhone 5S, right down to the 30-pin plug (USB 3.0 Micro USB and 40-gigabit Type C on European devices) and the headphone jack. Three standout features would include a long overdue addition of an FM/HD radio circuit, SD/SIM tray, and user-replaceable battery.
I would say if you’re going to use a phone with the iPhone 5 design, go for the original iPhone SE or with either 64 GB or 128 GB if you can find that one. I know you can get them for about $100. If you get the battery replaced at the Apple Store, it should be a pretty great small phone but if you want something with a more modern design, go for the iPhone 13 mini, which I think is the perfect small phone from Apple even though it is a bit more expensive.
That's my literal case RN. I'm fine using one as a dedicated phone for corporate and professional communication. It's kinda awkward when I use it for a while and then moving for a Poco X3 device. My phone screen feels so much bigger.
Oh my god my first iPhone! Before this I use iPod Touch 2 like, 6 years! If it was possible at the time I would bought the first iPhone SE because I like this that much.
I used a iPhone 6s till last year. I would of kept it as my daily driver if sprint wouldn't of been sold to t-mobile and 3G network wouldn't of been shut down for more bandwidth for 5G. Yea, 6S ran on 3G/4G
Thanks for watching! Do any of you still use an iPhone 5S?
Stop use mine as a personal phone! I just replaced its battery a few weeks ago. Apart from the lack of software support, it's a keeper.

I have one stored in my office drawer. It is a 64GB one. This iPhone was an outstanding device. I used it for 2 years.
To be honest, I do like the idea of having small compact phone. It’s usually both digitally and physically minimalistic
The iPhone 5S is the oldest iDevice that Clash of Clans still runs on. If that game is important to anyone that needs a new/old phone the 5S could still work great
Im still using it as secondary phone in 2022. Camera is still great as compared to mi phones camera .love it ♥️♥️💜✌️🔮
if only they still made phones in this fantastic form factor...
My favourite until the first SE. My mum still uses my 5s, but I think I'll need to move her to the SE soon.
Time to upgrade her. That thing is ancient and slow
I actually used an iPhone 5s 32gb until the end of 2019 it wasn't actually that bad except for it's camera and battery life. I replaced it with a Nokia 6.1 plus which I still use till today
I used it until .... late 2020
A. Nokia. 🙏🏻
Then use a Samsung V25 instead if you want🤓
@@UnknownName5050 it's actually a pretty good phone with Snapdragon 636 and 6gb ram
The 5s has iconic design, no wonder Apple brought the design back with the first generation SE
The iPhone 5S was a great phone but Father Time is undefeated. Keep one for collector status or backup duty.
Me personally I really wish they would bring back the finger sensor I really love it
Iphone 5s still supports security patch. My phone got ios 12.5.6 recently. Thanks apple!
I collect iPhones and mine broke. I’m gonna need to buy a new one on eBay. Space grey 64gb mint condition. I used that phone from 2015 to 2021. Amazing phone! ❤
best iphone in my opinion, 13mini is the closest i'll get these days with form factor
The risks associated with taking an iPhone on the water!
I had to use an iPhone 5s for majority of 2022 just to get me by. I was lucky to get an upgrade because the 5s battery was expanded and was stuck on the apple logo.
Found a lot of these at my local flea market over the years, still one of my favorite phones to repair!
Love a good iPhone 5s. I personally rocked the IPhone 5c But like who didn’t.
Anyone still remember the edges which were still shiny and grinded with a diamond? iOS 7 icons and interface looked so beautiful
Alongside SE 2016, this probably the best looking Iphone ever.
My first iPhone was a iPhone 5. I loved it back then.
I used my 5S until it started randomly going into a reboot loop. Upgraded to the 1st Gen SE and couldn't be happier!
Time to upgrade again. That thing is old, slow and unsupported
imo 5s is the best design apple ever had. elegant and classy
Honestly it’s one of the best looking iPhones in my opinion
I'm surprised nobody mentioned that Apple released a security update for iOS 12 less than a month ago! Which means that iPhone 5s got a security update 9 years after its release! I find that absolutely incredible. If you take a 9 years old Galaxy S4, when the last time it got an update?
From Samsung: It's been a long time...
But Google is still updating its services :D
(Like Chrome or Google Play Framework)
Yesterday.. on android 12
@@muhdaimanharith custom rom and official firmware are not on the same level
At least you can still use WhatsApp as well as many other apps on a galaxy s4 lmao . apple sucks.
@@scifiordie Not for long , google decided to end support for 32bit devices in 2023 , newer apps and firmware won’t be compatible
5S was my first iPhone and my first good phone
My dad had 1 the slow mo was so cool
5s was my first Phone. Same color and screen too. Great phone, old IPhones were tough as nails. I still have my 5s in a drawer. Currently using a newer phone as usual.
I still have mine. I normally connected to my Bluetooth speaker and use it as an MP3 player/iPod touch, while I’m doing other stuff on my regular iPhone 12.
I still have the 13 pro, but the iPhone 5s will always have my heart ❤️
THIS TUTORIAL REALLY WORKS I AM FROM PHILIPPINES! THIS MAN DESERVES A SUBSCRIPTION!
I use iPhone SE gen 1 as an iPod to listen to music while jogging.
Still a perfect design
Unfortunately, you didn't mention that 2 weeks ago there was still a security update for iOS 12. That’s 9 years of updates for the 5s!
Exactly, I was surprised (iPad mini retina as well) for the update
That was the first update after nearly a year. I doubt that Apple still fixes all security issues in iOS 12. So while this phone may still work for a lot of things, it probably isn't really secure to use.
9 years. No it’s not
I’m still using the iPhone 5S in 2022. Got it brand new for my 15th birthday back in 2015. In fact, it’s my first ever cell phone. I guess my first phone is still my only phone
Time to upgrade. That thing is old, slow and unsupported
I had the iphone 5 for two years loved it a lot
iPhone 5S is my favourite phone i ever owned
If apple made an iPhone SE 3 that was the iPhone 5 body with an all screen front…I would buy it and use it forever. That is my ideal device.
5:19 increase button size and it will be a LOT easier
Aesthetically one of the best phones ever made
Still using this 5s ❤
Time to upgrade now. It’s old, slow and unsupported
I still have this around. It’s there for an emergency if our regular phones have an issue. It’s smaller than my mini 13 😂
For me in 2022 it's either iPhone 8 or something recent. Still supported and great form factor.
iPhone 5/5S? Nah, too slow.
That's my literal case RN. I'm fine using one as a dedicated phone for corporate and professional communication. It's kinda awkward when I use it for a while and then moving for a Poco X3 device. My phone screen feels so much bigger.
Time to upgrade lol
@@emilsecker7881didn’t you read? He’s upgrading to Poco X3 Pro.
@@PffingAlexeyPetrov that’s not an upgrade lol, sounds like a downgrade. I missed that the first time I read his comment
@@emilsecker7881 it just an android switching
Got a mint 5s for 20USD. Definitely still usable.
Nope. Time to upgrade
Thank you for making this video, was looking to buy one cause of nostalgia!
I had mine for 3,5 years, bought on the launch day, gave it to my gf then. Best design ever... too bad Apple switched to bigger phones.
Aww, I was hoping to see you play some old school RuneScape on it.
I had a se from 2016 sold it awhile ago but I might get the 5s to be my main phone it seems really cool
my favorite iphone ever
i have the iphone se as my backup phone! I do love the size, very stealthy
I use one I got for £20. I love the smaller size in jeans. Really sick of huge £800 slabs in my pocket, this makes a refreshing change.
Time to upgrade. That thing is old, slow and unsupported
Oh my god my first iPhone! Before this I use iPod Touch 2 like, 6 years! If it was possible at the time I would bought the first iPhone SE because I like this that much.
Good video I always wanted that phone when it came out.
I used a iPhone 6s till last year. I would of kept it as my daily driver if sprint wouldn't of been sold to t-mobile and 3G network wouldn't of been shut down for more bandwidth for 5G. Yea, 6S ran on 3G/4G
