- This video features the complete Joy, low seam, longwall system that operated at Store Norske Spitsbergen Kulkompani’s Lunckefjell Mine. The mine is located on the Svalbard archipelago, north of the Arctic Circle, about midway between continental Norway and the North Pole.
When I drove the cutter in a southwales coal mine we cut from the talegateheading to the middle of the face to the cross over point of the maingate cutter , my cutter cut a full disc thickness with the disc cutting in a anti clockwise direction as soon as I got to the middle cross over point I dropped the disc into the bottoms and ploughed back to the heading clearing the coal face side onto the panzer chain that took the coal away to the maingate heading and outbye the panzer was then pushed over behind me into the coal face .I then drove my cutter no 2 machine to the heading where I would arc out the heading ploughed out bottoms and the heading would be shoved over and the process would start again. GREAT DAYS AND MISSED LIKE HELL.

By dye the shearer cuts out into the gate the afc is pushed over behind the shearer then goes back into the cut the fact is then pushed over again on the gate side cut back to the gate again then go on a full shear as he dose the afc is pushed over behind him and chocks aadvanced
Real shearer operators walk with it not set in a little safe room lol.

The Uk has massive reserves of coal Mrs thatcher give little thought to the future energy needs .Since the mines and coal power stations have all closed and demolished the price for energy has gone before all expectations of future needs the price we now have to pay now means we all suffer .
That's what a lot of people don't understand either. Coal is important and they don't get it it somehow just doesn't sink in
