- Schizophrenia is a mental disorder which affects young people more than old one.sometimes it starts in early teen age.
It's etiology may be genetic,environmental or based on high brain level of some neurotransmitters like dopamine and serotonin.
It has got both positive as well as negative symptoms.
POSITIVE Symptoms include delusions like that of reference, persecution, infidelity etc and Hallucinations like auditory ,visual or gustattory.
It's very important to consult a psychiatrist if you or your loved one have any symptoms of it because early recognition of the problem and early management of it is very important.

A very important point is missed. The patient of this disease never admits that he/she is suffering from some delusion etc. and the biggest challenge of such disease is to take such a patient to the doctor. These patients will never go themselves to the doctor.
True n no cooperation from the drz. They say wo won't treat until see the patient, no support

Alzheimer's is more about forgetting rather then having delusions and hallucinations. Basically Alzheimer's doesn't have any other issues/symptoms other then memory loss as far as ik

I agreed with khan Siddiq because my son is also patient but he is not accept this that he is sick so he never visit the Dr so stay at his room day & night
Please don't leave your son alone in this position and start medicine, as you know like this patient don't want to take medicine. Also you can't give medicine by force ,but you give him with his favorite food.daily you give respridral syrup 2 ml in food.after few month he will be able to take respridral tablets by himself inshaAllah.

My uncle had a same problem he never admit that he is schizophrenic also he never went to the doctor.I came to know that he was schizophrenic when I got that disease back in 2005.
