Hello John! One question: How did you bend the metal sticks at the ship‘s bow? Your work and your skills are such an inspiration for my ship modeling! Greetings from Germany ❤
What nails did you use to attach the hinges? It appears the nails supplied with the kit are too long. And did you use CA glue on the hinges when you attached them?
Hi again. I have a big problem fitting those metal pieces to the bow. The first few were fine as they are really soft and bendy. However the last 4 long thin ones are very brittle and I have already snapped 2 just gently trying to bend them. I know it was a long time ago but do you remember having the same problem and, if so, how you solved it. Thanks again for the videos, they are super helpful!
Yes I remember that this Task was difficult . My advise would be slowly heat those things BUT be very careful since those Parts have a very low Melting Point . So maybe a Heat Gun, Torch or Hot Water could help, to be honest I forgot how I did overcome this Task , sorry .
Thanks for coming back to me. I tried heating the metal gently but only succeeded in snapping another one. At that point I gave up and have substituted the supplied parts with lengths of extra large paper clips! Sounds ridiculous but I think they look quite good in situ and the only person that will know what I did is me! I'm ready to do a bit of painting next, that will be a welcome change.
@@paulspencer6364yes that is very unfortunate but, as in almost every Kit there are some bad Apples and to sail around these issues is part of our hobby, I think . Go on and have fun
I think for that Project I've used the Pioneer CA Glue but I have now switched to Insta Cure from Arizona Gems & Minerals because they have a wide Variety of CA Glues and they are much more effective . www.ebay.com/itm/BSI-Insta-Cure-Super-Thin-Glue-Gap-Filling-Glue-Extra-Thick-1-2oz-1oz-2oz-8oz/162667711636?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2649

What did you use as a primer before you painted?
Well it's couple of Years when I made this Model but I believe I've used Sanding Sealer which I am always use when painting Wood on large Surfaces
Great presentation and Great work!!! Please tell me what kind of fluid glue is in the woods?
The Glue I am using is CA Glue or also called Super Glue and I would recommend a GEL Type because it's easier to work with.
@@davaoshipmodeller Thank you for your reply!
