Thanks for sharing your amazing work. I truly hope I get 10% of your amazing skills. No matter what you say, you take a model kit that looks boring and you make it look like a masterpiece. Your eyes for detail and add a lot to it, the boat comes alive. And how correct bad pieces are amazing. Thanks for sharing and sharing your skills.
Thank you very much for your nice Comment
Why is the sound so Poor? Sounds like your in a drum speaking!
I am sorry for the poor quality, but this is one of my older videos made with cheap equipment . Thank you watching
I have always though that Amati Produced the best kits! Is this assumption wrong or is it a better assumption to figure that all kit producers have some problems with their Products?
I would not say that AMATI produces the best Kits but their Quality standards are very high . Nevertheless and in my experience I haven't encountered only a very Model Kits without minor or major Issues, so I believe "the perfect Model" doesn't exist .
I believe that standing rigging would have been darker (Black in color) Compared to running rigging as it would have been Wormed, Parceled, and served, in which another p[rocess of Taring would have been performed.
That might be correct, thank you for your comment and watching
What are Blogs?
Pulleys !? Sorry for my crappy English
Has Amati fixed the issues you have found with your Model?
Honestly I don't know , since Amati is the sponsor of this Video am sure they have seen it . On the other hand, like other companies too, it take years to fabricate new Instructions and materials like they have done it recently with Titanic Model . Thank you for watching
When you get to a model that's this complex, it's easier just to take it down to the shipyards and have them do it.😉
Could be a solution LOL. Tnx for watching
As usual, John, you are building a fine model. I hope trimming the cabin height doesn't end up biting you - something I've struggled with when doing woodworking or home remodling. Modifying one part to find that the change cascades to every other part.
Yeap, that is also something I am afraid of, let's hope I didn't make a wrong decision. Tnx for watching my friend
Your model doesn't have a coppered hull?
Nope copper plating was not included in the Kit and since this was a Commission Work also not required from the Client. Thank you for watching
OMG- this would take FOREVER to accomplish, especially if you have 15 or 20 sails on one ship.
I agree, that's why I also changed my technique, please check out my Videos from Amati Adventure Pirate Ship . Thank you for watching
Thanks for sharing, you are a inspiration. You master a ton of skills. For me you are a master.
Thank you very much but I am not a Master, I just know something from this and that . Thank you for watchung
Hello! Can you please help me to find those no. 10 2x3mm braces. I don't understand where they are and how exactly they look like
It should be 1 pc and how I make it 2? I don't understand logic of the producer I think
Hello, if you can't find those Strips on the smaller Bundle, together with the Deck Planks and other various Strip , you should ask Billing Boats for Replacement. Best regards and thank you for watching, John
Hi i am so glad i found this site to help, the plans are very hard to follow. Can you advise what are the parts called that you 3d printed or where do you find the file to print.
And I am glad you like the Video. Let me know what specific 3D Files you need . Contact me via Email : davaoshipmodeler@gmail.com Thank you
You made a very beautifull model, but is the propellor in the right scale? It seams a bit to large I think? For the rest keep going this way?
Thank you. Yes the Propeller is a thing, I couldn't use the included Propeller because he develops almost no thrust and M2 Propellers are hard to find . Thank you for watching
Thank you very much
Lovely hinges
Thank you , a conversion was needed because the original Rudder Hinges were way out of scale
@@davaoshipmodeller yeah, the ones included would have been ridiculous on such a small boat, thanks for documenting the build, well help alot when im building it im sure.
@@claeswikberg8958 thank you for watching
Thank you so much. Once finished all my Models are for Sale because I love the building process but do not have the Space to store them all. Thank you for watching
You are a true master of this, and your eyes for details are amazing. I wish that I learned 10% of your skills. It's very few that master painting and weathering and woodworking and electrical work and construction skills. You have all those skills. Thank you for sharing your skills with us
I know a little bit of this and that but I am surely NOT a MASTER. Thanks to UA-cam I could improve my skills drastically and so I am doing the same with my Videos , so that others may can learn what I've learned . Thank you for watching
hi did you wet sand each coat before adding an extra layer of varnish?
Yes I did, thank you for watching
Greetings from another ship modeller, from North Wales UK. This is an amazing model, and you are doing an excellent job. Regards, David.
Thank you so much fellow Modeller
…gestern gefragt, heute geht’s schon weiter… 🫶🏽.
John. Last March I was on the lookout for a challenging model. I chanced across your video on UA-cam of the Amati Bismarck build. So I binge watched all 26 episodes of your fantastic videos and then decided to buy the model. I started the build on 3rd April 2024 and finished it yesterday the 13th of January 2025. It is fair to say that without your expert guidance and wonderfully filmed videos showing the construction 0:13 were clear, inspirational and enormously helpful taking me through the stages of construction. I sense if I have not had your videos to follow I would probably not have being able to do it so well. As I live in Germany, I decided not to apply the swastika signs as these are actually illegal here. And I also decided to go with the markings as shown on the box as my spray painting skills are not up to your standard. Unfortunately, I can’t leave a picture on the comments here but I close by saying I’m really delighted with the finished model as is my family. All I need now is to make a decent stand for it as the one that comes with the set is simply very poor and then of course I’ve got to try and find a display cabinet to put it in. I now look forward to making another large scale Amati model and have the Titanic my sights. Will you be having a crack at their new one With many thanks. Steve
Was macht eigentlich Schiff Finnmarken?
I am sorry but Google Translate doesn't make sense . Can you explain your explain your request a little more specific ? Thank you
nice work, Merry Christmas to you!
Thank you and merry Christmas too
Hi John. That little boat is turning out great. I'm impressed (as usual!) on your work arounds to what I think can't be done, especially with the radio control and motor items. Have a very good Christmas and New Years as I again wait for more of your updates
Thank you very much and I wish you too a merry Christmas and a happy new Year
Gruss Johannes
chapeau bas monsieur superb travail👍👍
Thank you very much and merry Christmas
Amazing!... how you use a lot of techniques!
Thank you, I always try to keep up with new techniques and technologies , UA-cam and social Media helping a lot with this task. Thank you for watching
…unglaublich deine Ausdauer… 🫶🏽👍🏽🙋🏽♂️🐝
Danke
who is cooking your food ?
@@luciendefalque7491 what has that to do with the Model ?
One more fantastic project. I do have to ask - how will all this great detail be visible to others or is it just for your satisfacion?
Thank you. Well, yes and no , if you sail the Model you can't see the interior but you can remove each Deck when on display . Tnx for watching my friend
Du bist und bleibst ein wahrer Tueftelkuenstler. Einfach hervorragend, was Du da so zusammenbastelst.
Thank you very much
capt hind sight here, It would have been easier for you to build it in halves, create a split mold from fiberglass (one from each of the sides), and then create castings with fiberglass. Now, with that said, if you dont try to do stuff in new ways, you might miss out on a great technique and alot of learning experience. I think there is a saying that goes "its only a failure if you don't learn from it". Keep experimenting, thats half the fun of it! // Claes
Yeap, that's a method I haven't thought about BUT as you already said : You never loose, you always gain experience. Thank you for watching
Nice try though. 👍🏼
Yeap, learning from from the experience , thank you for watching
nice question I'm just guessing but cant you just apply the gel coat on the outside of the actual model and then all fiberglass with resin on the gel coat on the actual model? love the videos keep it up:)
Yes that would be an option to try and it may could work but I decided to go back to old School. Keep watching and you will see the result in Part 3. Thank you for watching
I think you had a well thoughtout plan and the result is acceptable. Especially for a first try. I think it is a learning curve of trial and error with the desired result eventually. Keep on!
Thank you for the moral support.
Sehr interessantes Projekt 👍🏽
If you never try you’ll never know We all have to learn so never give up Thankyou
You never loose, you ever gain in experience. Thank you for watching
Gruss Johannes
I have a microcosm steamplant with an inline twin. Im wondering if i could shoehorn it in as would be fantastic as a real steam tug
Might be possible , the Deck openings are large enough . Thank you for watching
When you put the gangway (the door you noted was missing) on the hull, did you remove the stantions from the other side? Excelnt work and detail, by the way. I really did not think i would be interested in this build, but now i would love to do a model of one of the Royal Navy vessels i served on.
Thank you. Regarding the Gangway, unfortunately I didn't remove the Stanchions from the inside because I made a little mistake placing the Door , it interferes with a Wall inside . Nobody is perfect LOL
I've used a 550 brushed Motor running on 6 Volts . Thank you for watching
Very nice. You have to be a real glutton for punishment using that body filler again😄😄. For what it's worth, there are very inexpensive plastic applicators that are used to put that material on smoothly and can be easily cut to size as needed. Any body shop supply store, even on Davao, will have them at less then a USD each.
Yes I know my friend , I like the pain to do things in a different way LOL . I have those plastic applicators but I forgot where I've put them LOL . Tnx for watching my Friend
those poor 1-2-3 blocks :)
Well, they have seen the world, a lot of glue and other chemicals but nevertheless they still work LOL . Thank you for watching
Really cool model. ⛵
Yes indeed , thank you for watching
Several years ago I started to assemble this kit. I had no experience in assembling such models and this is the first model of this kind, the choice is not very good for the first model. The instructions and drawings are designed for more experienced modelers, many things are unclear and questions arise, so I want to say a big thank you for your videos, they help a lot to understand and many things became clear after watching. At the moment I have assembled the masts and the next step is the sails.
instructions are always the biggest mystery so I am glad that my Videos were helpful. Thank you for watching
