I love Serena's music, but IMO, you are not worthy of this musical tribute. Due to the actions or lack there of, of your upper management, you are the most hypocritical animal welfare organization in this country. People who care about animals and do their research will find that you have not done your job ever since McGuinty gave you free reign to 'police' yourselves with no accountability to the government nor the tax payers who unknowingly contribute millions of dollars each year towards your salaries. You are a disgrace to all other SPCA's that do the job we count on them to do, so stop telling the Ontario public that you need more donations when your shelter is rarely at even minimum capacity levels and you don't solely count on donations to survive. And I challenge everyone to do their homework to see for themselves...don't have to take my word for it!

I sat next to Serena on a flight to Montréal 10-12 years ago, she just had one of her first album out. We chatted right from take off. She told me she was going to Montréal to play in a small bar and to do a couple of radio show. She told me her name to which I bluntly replied, « don’t know you »… the funny things is that my wife bought her record the week before and we were listening to it all week… anyway, as an older parent I told her that if she was my daughter I would not let her go alone so young to play in bars in Montréal, or at least I’ll be with her, that music is hard business, that she should go back to school. We were laughing all the way to Montréal, me telling her to go to school, her telling me that she’ll be safe in Montréal. We had a great chat, lots of laughters. I almost had a heart attack going back home that evening my wife playing her CD again and me realizing that all that trip I advised Serena to go back to school… what an idiot!!!! One of the many points of this story, beside the fact that I am an idiot, confirms that Serena is not only talented but a kind, loving soul, a great human being, absolutely not a diva, someone that can make us Canadian very proud.

I am a huge fan of yours Serena and I am also an animal welfare advocate. For many years I have adopted mature animals that are harder to re-home. And as much as I support the local independent rescues and humane societies, I am not a fan of the Ontario SPCA solely due to the people in upper management roles. I would respectfully ask you to google the OSPCA and do some research on this particular organization in Ontario. Thank you very much!
