@@skaterg807 Formula 1 races these days are more or less decided by qualifying and litigation over the tiniest offenses, and modern track designs hardly allow any overtaking moments. DRS is ineffective and half the time KERS doesn't even work. I'd have to question your sanity if you think that's exciting.
Apology for piggybacking on your post but for some reason I have nowhere to leave a comment. What the purpose of 4 wheel drive, to make you tontos spend more money?!
@@getphuked2 Completely different style of driving. 2WD buggies require a lot of finesse and focus more on maintaining corner speed. 4wd buggies are more forgiving and rely more on clawing their way out of corners, so you can throw them around more on the track. And just for reference since I see a similar argument made about stadium trucks quite often, STs are a bit of a middle-ground due to having generally higher levels of traction, and also turn more aggressively and are less prone to rolling due to their wider wheelbases. As a result you can really sling them around corners.
This was a great race and so much fun to watch. But I really do miss John Hindhaugh's vocal work for RC Racing TV. Best race announcer in the business. Even more so than Scotty Ernst.
Have my first 4WD buggy with nitro engine ( i had a lot with electric motor ) , it's very very fast but i dont have a circuit to run ,just some parkings but like this i "Eat" the wheels ...today after just 30 minutes the wheels passe from rally to slick version ...totaly dead hahaha Hello from Belgium ^^
Just make sure not to roll it. :P I've got my eye on a Schumacher myself. Mainly because I've had TLRs for a while now and kinda want to give an exotic brand a try. I've recently picked up an Eclipse 3, next one's going to be a Cat L1.
There's a couple. If you're just starting out I'd recommend the TLR 22-4 or the Associated B74.1, since those have the best parts availability. The Schumacher Cat L1 is also pretty good but since it's an exotic brand you're going to probably want to buy a second kit as a parts car.
So very different! Basically, with 2WD you have to be smooth on the throttle and brakes or you'll end up sideways, and holding as much corner speed as possible is important. 4WD you can throw it into corners and brake much harder as you'll have the 4WD control and drive to deal with it and get off the corners easier.
@@Rufusdos They do. They don't have mechanical brakes like the nitro cars, but they have brakes within the electronics, so you effectively brake with the motor.
Matt Seckold 3 things to keep in mind. First, tlr has more than one driver, but only Dakota is good enough to make the a final. He’s not usually this good to be top 2 in a world class race so this prototype really impresses. Second, this is hudy xray track. It’s smooth even with the cracks. Xray has proven on actual rough dirt they struggle. Lastly this is xray’s track, you better believe xray drivers have the most experience with that track surface. Tlr makes cars that are solid in any track condition. Dakota was putting the fastest laps and was pressuring the leader a lot. He was being held back. To each their own and if you’re driving mainly on smooth high traction then yeah you can’t go wrong with xray.
There is a stand called the drivers stand that everyone stands on so they can get an overhead view of the track. FPV would add too much weight to the cars and it would limit the vision too much.
I miss the old days of real dirt, not this concrete based road course with jumps. racing looked good, but anything can run on a grippy concrete surface the guy is right though, i used to race slotcars, we called that type of racing 'the pressure cooker', if you can't pass and stuck it, you just follow, apply pressure and let the leader cook
@@davidharding7270 Same here... Track was loose and unforgiving. Rivkin had the pace at 9/5.02 to be in the top 3, but he bubbled or traction rolled in all but one of his quals, landing him at 8 / 10 in the finals. Starting at 8 / 10 means you get stuck in or blocked by slower traffic. Dakotah Phend traction rolled in A2 and A3 and gave away the title what was practically on his laps. Can have as many as you want in the top 20, still got beaten by 5 other brands.
@@MattyS02 That's a high level spectator's perspective. AE and Yokomo top drivers like Rivkin, Evans, Cavalieri had good lap times but also had bubbles. The large layout means you only had a few laps to make it up. On the surface, XRay took the 1st in 4WD, but anyone who saw the race would know the TLR car was *faster*. Epic announcing. Tried to watch this while wrenching. Just lost half an hour. Half an hour well wasted.

I like this announcer and phend is a legend at racing, I remember watching him in person when he was just a kid
good job with the broadcast making it like a real race, might as well go all the way.
Just found this channel I love it
Great job Coelho!
Great coverage of a great event. Thank you.

How much do these dudes earn?
Really dissatisfied with my b74.2d. These pro racers can’t have anything close to a stock one. I don’t even think they use the same cars at all
