Excellent recommendations! One thing I like to buy other whisky fans is glassware. Also, thanks so much for the shout out and for the kind words 😀You know how much of a fan I am of your channel as well. Cheers, Matt! Have a great Christmas and happy new year!
Hey Matt! Great choices! I will need to try more than half of them! It would be nice if list them on the description or in a comment. It also generates leads.
Thanks Alberto! That's the best part about this whisky thing, there's so much to explore. Hope you knock a few off the list this Christmas. Good idea with a list in the description, I'll see if I can get around to it here. Cheers buddy, and Merry Christmas! 🥃
Excellent rundown as always Matt. Great picks for sure. Benromach as your top Christmas dram was a nice choice. Big fan here. Although for me the Glenfarclas 15 holds Dow that category but I would put the Benromach Contrast Peat Smoke Sherry on my list. Cheers and Merry Christmas!
Hey, Matt... Great exposition. You convinced me to sample some Loch Lomond Steam & Fire and try the Nikka Yoichi. You're gonna have to tell me how I'm supposed to get ahold of some Two Brewers down here in the beknighted snakes. I think the change from baseball cap to newsboy is a good one. The newsboy suits your face better. Get a cotton one for spring and a open woven straw one for summer. Ditch the baseball caps. I like the gnome doll, too. I feel like I'm right there with you.
A great review Matt. Excellent choices. I’ve just come back from Scotland and have tried and bought some of the great bottles you recommended whilst there. Merry Christmas and cheers!
Thanks Greg! Young, heavy peat at a fair price is really coming through big for a lot of us I think. Hope you can find that Turbo at some point. Cheer buddy 🥃
This was an outstanding compilation of whisky recommendations Matt! Thanks mate!! Wishing you and yours and all your fellow subscribers a very merry Christmas and a stellar new year! Slainte! 🥃🎄
'Oak Carols' You really are in the Christmas spirit! 😃 Brilliant list Matt. I would not be upset with any of these bottles if I received them as a gift. You're spot on the Steam&Fire. It's a fantastic palate adjuster, night beginner as it's so fresh and bright and just damn enjoyable! I'm really curious about that Midwinter Night's Dram, let's see if I can find it. Happy holidays to you and yours' my friend 🥃
I'm glad to say we can get Shelter Point on line here in the US. Good choices even though not all available for me, I get a Loch Lomond 12 for the price of your release. For US$38 at the moment I can get Glencadam 10. it's brighter and without the touch of sherry that Arran 10 has, but it's cheaper. I buy BOTH. For a splurge bottle I would upgrade the Ledaig 10 to Ledaig 18. I also recommend buying up Speyburn 15 and Glen Grant 15 Batch Strength while they are still available. Great bottles, good gifts, and disappearing soon. Last thing for me is an Edradour 12 Caledonian is a great gift and not a budget buster. PS Instead of the fairly expensive High West MWND, consider a Sagamore port if you can get it. Should save over $50.
Fun and plenty recommendations. Many of which I haven't yet tried. I would like to try something from Torabhaig, as I like Talisker but would love a better presentation on the base offerings (love Wilder Seas and the 18). Also have blind spots for Ledaig and Port Charlotte that I would like to remedy. Thats so great that you say Bunna 14 is perfect for Christmas, as I ordered one 2 weeks ago and am waiting for Christmas to open it. Looking forward to it. I have the other bunnas you recommended also, and I can only echo your recommendations there. Have you tried Laphroaig Lore? In that case, how would you compare it to Cairdeas? Looking at picking up one of them soon. I can get the new Lore for about 90 euro, but I think Cairdeas would be a bit more expensive. When it comes to Benromach CS though, I haven't liked it as much as all of you guys do. Not sure what batch it is that I have, and I'll continue giving it chances, but nothing special for me thus far unfortunately. Merry christmas to you!
I saw the new Isle of Harris Oloroso Cask Hearach at K&L Wines yesterday. Tempting, but It's $100 and my whisky spending needs to stop for awhile. Good shout on the Laphroaig Cairdeas Cask Favourites. It's quite possibly my favorite dram of 2024. I've got a couple Longrow Red's that may win out (over the Laphroaig) on any given night, but they're generally not as readily available as the Laphroaig. Also, don't sleep on the Lagg Corricravie. It's a surprisingly good peat & sherry treat from a newer distillery. It's hard to argue with your gift list. I highly endorse a Benromach Single Barrell for those like me who can't find the Cask Strength release without crossing "the pond". Thanks for sharing. Happy Holidays Matt.
I was able to get the Springbank 21 this year! Very excited!! Happy holidays to you and yours!
Wow. Congratulations man , nice nice
What a Christmas bottle that will be Gary! Springbank 21, wow! I've only had it once but it was great! Merry Christmas Friend 🥃

Excellent list video, and I agree with the Benromach CS. Such an amazing whisky, however can be hard to find in Aus 😢

Still have several Scotch whiskey left over in Abbotsford, bclc left from the spirit release this fall
Nice video. I am aligned with many of your picks. The younger heavily peated bottlings have been a pleasant surprise.

Oh, and Merry Christmas buddy!
@ same to you Matt!!!
I got signatory highland park at £50 at cask strength and it was outstanding and a Macallan at cast strength for £50.
This was an outstanding compilation of whisky recommendations Matt! Thanks mate!! Wishing you and yours and all your fellow subscribers a very merry Christmas and a stellar new year! Slainte! 🥃🎄
Thanks James! Hope you'll have something marvelous in your glass this Christmas. Merry Christmas to you and yours buddy. Cheers 🥃🎄
@whiskyonthewestcoast I've been saving a bottle of the Amrut CS that the Strath released this year for their 20th anniversary. Can't wait to try it! 🥃
Benromach peat smoke is £45 and really good.
Helpful! Thank you!
Thanks for Watching Joel. Merry Christmas buddy 🥃
@@whiskyonthewestcoast Merry Christmas!
