You and Blane are living the life that I would love to; designing and fishing some wicked flies, taking people out showing them a great time on the water even building custom rods, running a shop, among other things. I definitely will have to get that Game Changer book off the website. I am digging all those flies including the craw changer, hellgramite changer and the jerk changer. I may experiment with my own craw changer and a salamander changer . Those Fly Palas and jointed swimbaits are mind bogglingly cool 😎
Hi, I'm home in quarantine, I came across your page after I looked up o knot tying tool. I have been fly fishing 3 years, and I have learned so much watching your youtube, you keep it so simple, the important things really stand out, I now know why my 4x doesn't fit into those small flys, why I can't cast a bigger fly with it either,hmmmm why I have not caught anything with a streamer yet. I have been to 2 fly schools and watched so many youtube pages and have learned things, but you clean out all the noise and get to the important stuff, that somehow after 3 years I had no clue about, I have had so many lightbulbs moments please keep them coming, I will be hitting your online store for some fishy wear so cute
This is just my 2 cents, what draws me to fly fishing is not a lot of people throws flies were I live so switching from conventional lures that everyone is throwing, to flies even classic fly patterns get alot of attention from pressured fish. It's cool to see the fly fishing body of knowledge grow as I'm getting more into it.

I've read Blane's book. Today I watched your video of you and Blane Chocklett talking the flies Blane is coming up with for the future. He (Blane) thinks outside the box of classic fly tying and reminds me of Jay "Fishy" Fullum. I don't exactly understand how the shanks fit into one another and of course into the hook. Maybe you could show a video on that. Thanks Brian and MRO.

The hellgrammite changer looks awesome! Big trout and smallie candy. My largest Smallmouth was hooked on a hellgrammite fly in an ADK lake. You store carries the largest variety of top quality bass and pike flies in the market!
A perfect Hellgrammite!!!! MAN if I would have had these years ago fishing Smallies on the Susquehanna river..... I used to hunt the rocks and weeds to catch live hellgrammites (which were hard to find) I was guaranteed a couple of fish before it was stolen or fell off.

Hi Flechsig & Chocklett, I have a serious question about your book. How do you make the tail portion of the gummy spoon minnow? The sili skin is sticky on one side, I have no idea how you make the tail shinny on both side? I read the chapter 4 over but no solution. Thanks!

Is he no longer guiding? I’ve been thinking about a smallmouth trip down that way so looked for a website to book him to guide, and every address I could find for him was no longer working. Maybe someone can recommend a guide in Virginia or Maryland.
What I dont understand, and is the reason I tend to agree with the “purists,” why the heck don’t you just put actual spinning lures on a fly rod? They seem like they already do the job better than flies and ive seen sturdier rods that can handle them. What am I missing?
