Hi Lisa, I have another hen that is broody. Emma is one of those hens that gets off the nest only once a day. The hen that is broody now is so much nicer. I am hoping she hatches the eggs under her. They are from my girls. The roosters have been gone a couple of months but there are eggs still showing that they were fertilized. Just hope the eggs she is on are fertilized too. Time will tell. I wil try candle them💕. I have never moved the broody hen to a different area. Very interesting to hear your story 💕 NonnaGrace
We recently got naked neck chooks, they are constantly going broody. Nice personalities though. When their owner takes them back, I won't be getting them myself. I looooved baby chicks, hen raised are best for health of babies too. Our best foragers of any breeds are from hen raised chicks. Our cats have never eaten our chicks, after a week of confinement in a rabbit cage on fresh grass daily and they are big enough, I free range mama and babies in a large area near the house. I can't wait to hatch a set for the owner of these in several weeks. Xxoo
I have to say those naked necks kind of creep me out...they are so darn ugly. I have heard though that they are AMAZING mommas!!! So that makes them cuter!
Congratulations on the new additions to the Homestead my friends, greetings from here in Tifton!

We had hens that went broody all the time. It scared us a bit, because they don't eat or drink much and it got really hot where we live.
Oh yeah that would concern me too living there! This girl was hand fed and watered she faired very well lol.
