We personally like the KNIJohn version of "AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH"
That looks like the name people put in their arcade high scores when they're short on time.
“People always ask me: is your last name pronounced CHOW-d or CHAW-d? I always say the same thing to them:
how dare you speak to me”
Load chaud
The word "chaud" is pronounced as */ʃo/* which sounds similar to "sho" in English⁶. It's a French word that means "hot". If you're looking to perfect the pronunciation, it might be helpful to listen to native speakers or pronunciation guides available online. Remember, the pronunciation can vary slightly depending on the regional accent or dialect.
I pronounce it like the anime does. It sounds just fine to me
Interesting debate topic, I personally say "Ch-odd" like the anime because that was my first frame of reference for how the character voices and pronunciations are meant to sound lol.
i always pronounced it like "chawd"
I call him Chad. I thought he cool and starting call him Giga Chad 😂
char caught me offguard
I call him the way the anime does, since it’s the one I was most familiar with. Plus it kinda fits with his introduction as a rich snob kind of person, basically “oh great it’s *chaud*”. And tbh, it doesn’t sound all that dumb to me. Sounds at least a little original.
0:46 Moutain Dew Bajamut Blast.
Jokes aside, the original Arabic is in fact pronounced Bahamoot which is also an alternate romanized spelling (see also Ifrit as efreet, hence Yuna's pronunciation in Dissidia 012 (I haven't played FF16 so I don't know if it was pronounced in that game)) but Bahamut was a whale in the myth (and also has an alternate name that seems to conflate it with Leviathan (which is actually pronounced iya-via-than ) so...
Funny enough in the Arabic dub it was pronounced chad
And that's how I like to call him
"I can't even imagine Chaud losing."
2:57 I've heard Weiss pronounced from three different sources (Neptunia, RWBY and ads for Wiess Swartz on the official Cardfight Vanguard channel) and not a single one pronounces it vice.
Knijohn is currently have a sneezing fit
I'd say I pronounce it like how the anime dub does. It just makes more sense, like with how Mayl is proonounced May-lu.
"Ch-odd" makes sense 🤷🏻♂️
It's funny you are going off of Char. Cause in the original english dub of Mobile Suit Gundam, they pronounced it "Sha", which was hilarious among all the other things that got referenced by the GWS's abridge series.
As for how I pronounce his name, I say "Chad", partly because it's easier, and partly because it annoys a lot of people. Though I might have to start calling him Shoe....
I always just went off the dub with "Chawd", but now that you mention it, it DOES sound a bit silly
It's pronounced "chode", which fits his character.
I usually think of the characters in my head as their Japanese names, but if I'm talking about them esp to someone who's not as familiar with the franchise as I am I'll use their dub names. I did, unfortunately, watch the anime when it aired, I only missed 2 episodes of the Axess dub (tbh I'm still bitter about them, it was the episode where Blues goes back to normal after being dark Blues and the final episode) so I've always said his dub name the way it looks. 😅
This video makes me laugh. I've always said it as chowd, hence my username
Nice Video!
I still think that Match and Chaud's names should've been swapped. Since in the same game we have Chaud for hot, and we have Froid for cold, with the latter being given to an ice navi's operator. Chaud would still apply to a hot-headed man who's whole plot relevancy is "insert arson here" I think naming him 'match' instead of 'hot' makes less sense considering Match still works for the battling rival. I'd rather have a netbattle match with Match, a rival who's power often matches mine, after cooling down 'Hot' Chaud and his fire navi.
And for the record, I'm french and have never heard Chaud pronounced like shoe. It's always sounded like Show to me, considering its feminine form is pronounced Show'd. (But now if you really wanna pronounce Enzan's name 'Show'd' you gotta write it as Chaude. Insert drama here)
So mayl is mail?
Mayl is short for Mai Lu english made it wrong
Yes. Her original Japanese name, Meiru is literally mail because while Japan has a word for snail mail, they do not actually have a word for email so they use e meriu or denji (electric) meriu. Thus is a problem with having such a context-heavy language. Saying "denji yubin" wouldn't actually make sense.
@@surgioviioffline2442 ...It's Meiru Sakurai, not Mai Lu...
Protoman et Chaud sont rouge comme feu. Alors je pense il s'appelle chaud comme le mot français.
Nah, it's not pronounced "chou" in french, it's more like, "sho"
That said I never pronouced it like that, I always used the funny anime pronounciation
And now that I think about it I don't even remember how they pronounce it in the french version of the anime...
if you use the localised name the dub is as autoritive as anything else.
I thought Chaud french was pronounced show
Playing it as a kid I refused to call him anything else but 'Chad'. Which ironically made his name better, because he is indeed a CHAD.
