If you’re doing a tribute album, you gotta hit that song that started it all. One Step Closer. I remember first hearing that song back in the late 90s, I said “these guys are gonna be huge.”
that there spot at 2:50. i was not expecting it. i know this song by heart. i listened to it far too many times back in high school. this song was pretty cool hearing female lead vocalists doing it in a much higher pitch than the original. but then, that spot between 2:45-ish- and 2:50 changed the song. it's a buildup. and halocene goes to yelling while audra sings it. that part freaking hits.
I always get excited for the Linkin Park covers, and this one doesn't disappoint! Love the blend of Addie & Audra's vocals on this. The video blends the two locations so well also with the visuals and lighting. How many roles does Brad have now, with playing multiple instruments, production and editing tasks? Worth the hard work with the end result. Not sure if this would be an ideal choice, but have been thinking recently I would love to hear Halocene's take on Leave Out All The Rest. Also another vote for Iridescent.
