- Bill tests The HOT new Makro Racer 2 in a "hunted out" grass farm that produced Colonial Relics & coins in years past, but anything left is now barely in range of VLF detection.....

Your videos are the best, Bill. I bought a new Makro Racer based on your recommendation and it truly is a deep detector. Using this detector is currently a love-hate relationship as I'm still learning the machine, but I am finding really deep coins on a property that I thought was totally hunted out. (A former village park) I dug a small crushed-up silver ring at about 14"! Much deeper than my Minelab or Garrett has ever hit such a small target. And this thing is a nickle magnet. I have never found many nickles on this property with other detectors but now I'm finding at least one buffalo or V nickle on every outing - on a hunted out property. If not for your review, I probably would never have considered this machine. Thanks Bill!
I took my Racer2 out to an old California 1830's iron infested site and found a Phoenix button right in the thick of iron with the stock coil. This is a "worked out" site, so I was really impressed with it, I had my iron audio at 2, 95 gain, 3 tone, and disc at 2, it was running well. Also got a lead crusifix, flat button and a musket ball. Can't wait to take it out again. I have that BIG coil too, am thinking about using it at an earlier site with deep targets in DEEP mode and see how she does. My buddy pulled a deep 1786 silver 1 reale out of there last trip and I got a bust dime, but I know there's more, there always is for those willing to work it!

Bill Ladd's show was the only interesting Detecting show and sadly something more juvenile caught on. Bill is great, just can't pronounce horseshoe properly..but we'll give him a pass on that. :)

By the way, if that Marine Corps button IS from the Civil War, it is VERY rare. There were fewer than 5000 Marines in the north, and fewer than 1000 Confederate Marines. An awesome find, for sure!

I am going to tell you ---- you can't ask for a better company in Makro. They have asked customers what they wanted and delivered. They have fixed any problem or issue ASAP. When I researched and ordered the first Racer (Red Racer) everyone was like you are buying a machine that's just coming on the market .....
yep ... any company that sends out demos and asks them to be tested and ask what to change or fix must care about customer relations.
Well as expected I had a couple of the common problems with the first release overload sticking and coil ears and bolts breaking but they made good on it with replacements in a couple of days. That made me a fan and a solid customer.
I ordered my Racer 2 the week they were released and though I have only had a couple of dreary days to test it out .....I found relics and coins. The Red racer paid for itself in less than a month (if I were to sell what I found with it) The Racer 2 in one weekend already has scored silver and Civil War relics along with modern coins. I can see it won't be long before my investment is paid in full again.
Bill - Jerry Simmons at Cold Harbor Metal Detectors in Ashland, Virginia said you may come down this way to hunt some Civil War relics along with him. Maybe I can join you guys as Jerry is a good friend. Love your videos (I have done a few ...more for fun and to show off a little about the Racer) keep up the good work and maybe we can hunt together if ya ever get down yonder to the South. Seems the detector manufactures are really getting everything out of the VLF technology nowadays. Racer 2 looks like a fine example of this.
