I feel the same way about having the necessary fragrances that I love and would repurchase again. My solution is to keep my collection at 50 bottles and try not to repeat the scent profile too much. Something for every occasion.

I agree with you about body oils- the carrier oil sometimes has its own aroma and it detracts from your fragrance. I have a few jojoba-based, scented oils that bother me in that way- but not all!
I absolutely agree that if you have had your time with a fragrance, or you don't love it, it is TOTALLY okay to say goodbye to it. Why not pass it on to someone else who will love it? Share the love! You have no obligation to any fragrance. There are so many out there, that there is just no need to keep something in your life that you don't absolutely love. And you are 100% allowed to change your mind about stuff! I hope no one comes at you for this. I found this to be very helpful and inspiring! Thank you!
I’m not mad at all. My senses are ever changing. Every year or so I taste test foods that I never liked just to see if my mind has changed and sometimes it actually does. Some fragrances I just get tired of or just change completely to my nose. I love certain colors on my nails, certain hairstyles then I’m over them. 😅 It’s life! I’m here for all your content!

You talked about it along with a story about having to remove a woman from a hotel room. As you were escorting her out you smelled the fragrance and asked her what it was! I’m stumped! I’m so glad it worked out for you with Mashuro cause that fragrance was a no ma’am for me. You just made a few people sad with this declutter 😂especially NY Nights. That’s a huge favorite. Jardins de Misfah is making her rounds of fan favorite as well. It’s an ok scent for me. It wasn’t something I felt I needed in my collection.
Hi Sharida. I too decluttered NY Nights. It did nothing for me. Also, so many others I sold or gave to my daughter. Pretty bottles or not ya gotta go.... it didn't bother me in the beginning of my journey but 3 years later and thousands upon thousands of dollars spent I do care that I bought a 300 plus bottle of perfume and it's just sitting around. I plan to declutter 25 to 35 fragrances by summer. And then more.....
Hi Sharida, I have Sintra and enjoy the unusual green note in it. It is a compliment getter for me. But... I don't have a ton of orange blossom fragrances. I think more people like the straight sweet sent profile from things like Orianna or LDBS. Thanks for sharing the fragrances that are leaving and why you are letting them go. I actually get pretty irritated by stuff just sitting there, like I need it to be gone as soon as I've made the decision, or it's cluttering my mind 😂
I have not smelled the Mashmauro but I am anticipating getting my nose on Mangonificent from that house. Slated to release this month if I'm not mistaken.
I can honestly say I don't have any perfumes to declutter. If I'm not reaching for a fragrance, it's because it's been discontinued and I'm trying to preserve it until I can get a back up or two. Noir pour Femme by Tom Ford is a case in point.

I was pissed about Mashumaro too...its soooooooo dang smoky but I kept coming back to it...its just something about it that I love. I paired it with Roses Vanille and some marshmallow body oil and it gave. I got quite a few compliments.

Totally agree on Commodity Milk Expressive. I love woodsy scents but I feel misled by reviews on that one lol. Definitely not lactonic like our girl Blanche Bete! I feel the same about Sintra & all my neroli/marshmallow fragrances. LSDSE, Sintra, JPG Classique Pinup, DG Pour Femme & the Intense. 😩 I collected them all because I was obsessed with the scent profile. Now, I just need one because they all smell the same. Sintra is a little more green, but I have yet to wear it. I’ve been entertaining getting a bottle of Bond NYNs though. But a tester bottle only-bond is not going to take all my money.
I’m also curating a smaller collection. I decluttered Angel’s Share (I like the scent better on others), and anything by House of Sillage, Fragrance duBoise and Kayali; basically any brand that spends more on hype, marketing or the bottles than the actual quality of the juice for the price.
Velvet Orchid was my first to get kicked to the curb. Couldn't layer it. Made me feel like I was I was tasked to bring the sweet potato pie for the next church function when i wore this around the house.😆
Ok good! So I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t feeling Unique'e Luxury Mashumaro. I’m still waiting for him to release his Mango fragrance. Hopefully that’s much better then Mashumaro and it doesn’t take as long to be released.
Ok yes, same experience I had with Mashumaro. I was SO excited for it, but it was not what I expected at all. All I could smell was the rose, personally.
I say if your not reaching for them let it go, I’m glad you kept Sintra and others! Thankfully I only have 2 fragrances that I’m on the fence with everything else I love, sushi Imperiale and NR Rouge in the red cube bottle!
I agree if it’s not being used it should find another home! I recently decluttered Jardins de Misfah too, I couldn’t get past the opening and wasn’t in love with the dry down either

I did blind buys for the Byredo brand and I can't give it away fast enough..... I DO NOT LIKE THAT HOUSE........ I am sooo happy that Fragrance De bois gave me samples of the house before I bought because that is a NO NO NO......
I need to be doing the same thing, honestly. I have some fragrances that I don’t reach for at all. I think my problem is that 90% of the time I’m at home(I work from home) it’s hard to wear them all. I keep buying like a crazy person though lol
Yeah I hate seeing that. I can see falling out of love a year or two later as your nose definitely changes but… to “LOVE” a fragrance and then be decluttering 60 days later?! That math 🧮 is not math for me lol

Honestly, I don't usually declutter my perfume collection. First, because I do not let myself be swept away into the hype of perfumes. Second, because I really love what I have except for those blind buy scents that did not have the opportunity to sample such as Musc Ravageur, Mitsouko, dupes of some OG fragrances.

Maybe keep the Bvlgari for the bottle at least😄 that bottle is lux and gorgeous and should be displayed. BSB definitely cheaped-out on those oils. Castor oil is hard to mask, but de-scented castor oil does exist that could have been used.
The thought of decluttering gives me anxiety. The problem is that a fragrance I didn’t click with I’ve gone back to later and I loved… but I know I need to do a decluttering.
The only fragrance that is currently on my chopping block is Blue Sahara by Moresque. While it smells really good I just don’t really have an interest in Aventus like scents. I actually prefer it to Hacivat I’ve had a better experience with Hacivat as it was the gateway for me to get into Nishane which quickly became one of my favorite houses. Nishane is fully worth the price whereas I can’t say the same for Moresque.

Speaking of Epico, I have a decant of Vani Charnel that I told myself I didn't need a full bottle of... But I've recently revisited it and the candied fruits in this are making me swoon! Lol I already had 7 bottles on my wishlist, but I'm in no rush to get anything so there's no urgency there. I'll probably just snatch bottles up as they come across my radar for good deals. I haven't tried the body oils from Brown Sugar Babe, but I'm really enjoying their concentrated perfume oils! I did get the perfume oil of Caked Up and it smelled like a synthetic birthday cake candle which I didn't like. And then Sweet Thang just smelled like Pink Sugar so that was an immediate no lmao. But their perfume oil dupes of Vanilla 28, Donna Born in Roma, and then their original Cloud 9 scent are really good! I'm planning to go back for at least 4 more for layering purposes this spring and summer.
I wanted milk expressive to be more milky too - I get the deep and woody but not the marshmallow and that pisses me off. Fortunately I only have a 10ml and I am going to finish it off to get my money's worth. And sounds like I dodged a bullet on mashmuro. I was skeptical about it. Luckyscent needs to do sprayers and make it easier for those of us not in the us to get stuff and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it. I am also not loving flower bomb ruby orchid so I am determined to finish my 10ml too. I have sold perfumes before and people love to buy them for a good price so I can hope you can find new homes for them all.
I think I'm pitting my "New York 5th Avenue" on Mercari as well. Unfortunately, that and "Tabit" by Tiziana Terenzi have an old lady smell quality to me. I don't know what note is the culprit but it's gotta go, lol!
Wow lol… I don’t get only lady from these. They both have unspecified “floral” notes so it’s probably something in floral lineup rubbing you the wrong way.

Oak in Oak smells amazing on my hubby. I only know a few women who would enjoy wearing it - definitely masculine.

Yeah it could react differently on other’s skin but the carrier oils just smelled too prominent for me.

I wore the hell out it Dec/Jan. The dent is very much denting. Everything has a time and a season. And these fragrances season are OVERrrrr. 😂 great video

I love the way Sintra smells but on my skin it goes too green & stays green. I didn't even finish my 2ml sample
I was pissed about Mashumaro too...its soooooooo dang smoky but I kept coming back to it...its just something about it that I love. I paired it with Roses Vanille and some marshmallow body oil and it gave. I got quite a few compliments.
Funny coincidence, I just decluttered my Sintra too, I just feel that it is a green/ medicinal version of Love don’t be shy😊

I’m glad to hear your thoughts on Bond no. 9. That house has been a non-starter for me because I just can’t abide the bottles. 😬 They look like Rite-Aid fragrances to me. To me, the bottle is part of the experience in how a fragrance makes me feel!

Totally agree on Commodity Milk Expressive. I love woodsy scents but I feel misled by reviews on that one lol. Definitely not lactonic like our girl Blanche Bete! Barely winters here in South Texas either, learning that I need to keep my cold weather fragrances to a minimum as a result!

I feel the same about Sintra & all my neroli/marshmallow fragrances. LSDSE, Sintra, JPG Classique Pinup, DG Pour Femme & the Intense. 😩 I collected them all because I was obsessed with the scent profile. Now, I just need one because they all smell the same. Sintra is a little more green, but I have yet to wear it.
I’ve been entertaining getting a bottle of Bond NYNs though. But a tester bottle only-bond is not going to take all my money.

I’m also curating a smaller collection. I decluttered Angel’s Share (I like the scent better on others), and anything by House of Sillage, Fragrance duBoise and Kayali; basically any brand that spends more on hype, marketing or the bottles than the actual quality of the juice for the price.
What brands do you recommend? Im after quality not quantity
Velvet Orchid was my first to get kicked to the curb. Couldn't layer it. Made me feel like I was I was tasked to bring the sweet potato pie for the next church function when i wore this around the house.😆

Ok good! So I wasn’t the only one who wasn’t feeling Unique'e Luxury Mashumaro. I’m still waiting for him to release his Mango fragrance. Hopefully that’s much better then Mashumaro and it doesn’t take as long to be released.
Ok yes, same experience I had with Mashumaro. I was SO excited for it, but it was not what I expected at all. All I could smell was the rose, personally.
I say if your not reaching for them let it go, I’m glad you kept Sintra and others! Thankfully I only have 2 fragrances that I’m on the fence with everything else I love, sushi Imperiale and NR Rouge in the red cube bottle!
I agree if it’s not being used it should find another home! I recently decluttered Jardins de Misfah too, I couldn’t get past the opening and wasn’t in love with the dry down either

I did blind buys for the Byredo brand and I can't give it away fast enough..... I DO NOT LIKE THAT HOUSE........ I am sooo happy that Fragrance De bois gave me samples of the house before I bought because that is a NO NO NO......
I had one Byredo and decluttered it last year. Wasn't a fan of others I've tried either.

I agree that White (Personal) Milk Commodity is better than Bold Milk. I have both and it's hard to describe to me.
I need to be doing the same thing, honestly. I have some fragrances that I don’t reach for at all. I think my problem is that 90% of the time I’m at home(I work from home) it’s hard to wear them all. I keep buying like a crazy person though lol

Honestly, I don't usually declutter my perfume collection. First, because I do not let myself be swept away into the hype of perfumes. Second, because I really love what I have except for those blind buy scents that did not have the opportunity to sample such as Musc Ravageur, Mitsouko, dupes of some OG fragrances.

Maybe keep the Bvlgari for the bottle at least😄 that bottle is lux and gorgeous and should be displayed. BSB definitely cheaped-out on those oils. Castor oil is hard to mask, but de-scented castor oil does exist that could have been used.
The thought of decluttering gives me anxiety. The problem is that a fragrance I didn’t click with I’ve gone back to later and I loved… but I know I need to do a decluttering.

Nothing wrong with decluttering. We declutter in all other aspects of our belongings. Perfumes don't get to be safe from a good clean out. 🤣🤣🤣

Commodity Milk Expressive was such a let down. I didn’t get any sweetness or lactonic quality. It smelled very woody and smokey on me. I returned it.

The only fragrance that is currently on my chopping block is Blue Sahara by Moresque. While it smells really good I just don’t really have an interest in Aventus like scents. I actually prefer it to Hacivat I’ve had a better experience with Hacivat as it was the gateway for me to get into Nishane which quickly became one of my favorite houses. Nishane is fully worth the price whereas I can’t say the same for Moresque.
What are your top three Nishane? I want to add more this year. Not sure what I need to sniff next. I have Hacivat, HSW and Ani.
My worst blind buy was YSL Rive Gauche absolutely horrid smell. I wasted my money on this one for sure. Perfumes with Aldehydes are not for me 😖

Speaking of Epico, I have a decant of Vani Charnel that I told myself I didn't need a full bottle of... But I've recently revisited it and the candied fruits in this are making me swoon! Lol I already had 7 bottles on my wishlist, but I'm in no rush to get anything so there's no urgency there. I'll probably just snatch bottles up as they come across my radar for good deals. I haven't tried the body oils from Brown Sugar Babe, but I'm really enjoying their concentrated perfume oils! I did get the perfume oil of Caked Up and it smelled like a synthetic birthday cake candle which I didn't like. And then Sweet Thang just smelled like Pink Sugar so that was an immediate no lmao. But their perfume oil dupes of Vanilla 28, Donna Born in Roma, and then their original Cloud 9 scent are really good! I'm planning to go back for at least 4 more for layering purposes this spring and summer.
Finally got my hands on some Skinpotions and that will be my go to brand because I LOVE how fragrant everything is!
I wanted milk expressive to be more milky too - I get the deep and woody but not the marshmallow and that pisses me off. Fortunately I only have a 10ml and I am going to finish it off to get my money's worth. And sounds like I dodged a bullet on mashmuro. I was skeptical about it. Luckyscent needs to do sprayers and make it easier for those of us not in the us to get stuff and not have to pay an arm and a leg for it. I am also not loving flower bomb ruby orchid so I am determined to finish my 10ml too. I have sold perfumes before and people love to buy them for a good price so I can hope you can find new homes for them all.
I think I'm pitting my "New York 5th Avenue" on Mercari as well. Unfortunately, that and "Tabit" by Tiziana Terenzi have an old lady smell quality to me. I don't know what note is the culprit but it's gotta go, lol!
Wow lol… I don’t get only lady from these. They both have unspecified “floral” notes so it’s probably something in floral lineup rubbing you the wrong way.
