People have refused to go back to provinces after the war. The government should and must build low-cost housing for them. There is plenty of land in the country for that. They just can't be bothered, and that's not helping the citizens. It's a shame. The government should at least provide accommodation for them before the eviction and demolition. SHOW KINDNESS, CITY COUNCIL .
If both political parties had built homes for thses people over the years then and explain to them why for health issues they should not live there
How can you reason with people who wish to live in garbage depots and river beds? The government just needs to encourage private real estate developers, to help build low income housing communities throughout Freetown. Countries like Britain, France, Canada, US, and China all went through this stage.

I DON'T THINK THIS IS the BEST WAY TO SOLVE THIS VERY SITUATION. The best way to address such situation is this, the minister of house and town planning should pass over building permits instructions to the city. council . Which means city Council should be the one to issue the building permits instead of the ministry. The Mayor has been raising this very issue of being the main problem. But yet still the government seems to give its blocked ears. So what we must do as Sierra Leoneans, we must write a petition, demanding the government for them to pass over the building permits authorities to the city council, by so doing we can't prevent them demolishing people's houses, after they have suffered a lot to build. That's my take .
Or start to build houses for low budget people right across the country because our people need places to stay and live like human beings it's not right that our people should be living like that and with global warming the seas around the kro bay area is rising day by day
