east Indian/American goddess! have all of her c.d's and this song is my fav! man she is awesome! i pray to the good lord she never sells out, like 99% of the artists out there! if she did i would lose what little hope i have in the music industry. love ya, norah from canada
The long way home Norah Jones Well I stumbled in the darkness lost and alone Though I said I'd go before us Show the way back home There a light up ahead I can't hold on that alone Forgive me pretty baby But I always take the long way home Money's just something you throw Off the back of a train Got a handful of lightening A hat full of rain And I know that I said I'd never do it again And I love you sweet baby But I always take the long way home I put food on the table And roof overhead But I'd trade it all tomorrow For The highway instead Watch your back if I should tell you Loves the only thing I've ever known One thing for sure sweet baby I always take the long way home You know I love you baby More than the whole wide world I am your woman You know you are my pearl Let's go out past the party lights We can finally be alone Come with me And we can take the long way home Come with me,together We can take the long way home
@ zedo, yep by writing, this u confirmed my comment. - i say it's a huge overstatement to say 99% of the artists are sell-out. Yes, there's a lot of performers/entertainers making a living as so-called "musicians". And musicians who take the entertainment business path. And, of course, the "music" industry tries to sell you everything they can make a profit of, and inevitably much of what you see advertised is merely entertainment catalogued as music.
yup. And she's got a half-sister who's just as talented (and beautiful). Completely different kind of music though: Indian music. Look for Anouska Shankar.
2023 and I'm first discovering this woman. My god is she superior. Thank you....
Digital ticket on my phone to see her this summer ‼️‼️‼️‼️😎☺️🎸

The long way home
Norah Jones
Well I stumbled in the darkness
lost and alone
Though I said I'd go before us
Show the way back home
There a light up ahead
I can't hold on that alone
Forgive me pretty baby
But I always take the long way home
Money's just something you throw
Off the back of a train
Got a handful of lightening
A hat full of rain
And I know that I said
I'd never do it again
And I love you sweet baby
But I always take the long way home
I put food on the table
And roof overhead
But I'd trade it all tomorrow
For The highway instead
Watch your back if I should tell you
Loves the only thing I've ever known
One thing for sure sweet baby
I always take the long way home
You know I love you baby
More than the whole wide world
I am your woman
You know you are my pearl
Let's go out past the party lights
We can finally be alone
Come with me
And we can take the long way home
Come with me,together
We can take the long way home
I have a crush
great version thanks so much for posting

Any one know of any other Nora covering Tom Waits? Or for that matter any other Townes Van Zandt covers (other than Loretta and Be Here To Love Me}?
I can almost imagine Tom Waits on a Harley with Nora hanging on......both Tom and Nora......do truck driving songs up right.
Once again another woman Taking the long way home.... I will walk her there
