Brother! This video is my favorite production by you to date. You speak like a true professional who is passionate about what they do. I feel like I learned something while watching this. Great work! I can't wait to see more of this.
3:00 LMGs and their ammo are among the heaviest, unless weapon stats radically changed in 4.0. Some of the more efficient weapons in weight were things like the custodian. And less so, the Gallant. Backpacks also add a lot of weight, and no longer block shots like they used to. Basically anything that you equip or wear or carry in inventory adds weight.
Something important to note is that you don't need heavy on all armor parts. I'm a main fps player on SC since I'm also a huge player of competitive fps outside of SC, and my go to loadout hasn't changed much since they introduced different strafe speed depending on the equipped armor parts. That's what I run if I know I'll be facing multiple people at once in CQC : - heavy helmet & chest - medium arms & legs - light backpack - karna + FS9 (karna for the accuracy and good breakpoints, FS9 for the uptime which will often save your life) - revolver And that's my loadout on open maps when I wanna play at range and kite rather than brawl in CQC : - heavy helmet - medium chest - light arms & legs - light backpack - karna + lmg or sniper depending on the map - revolver The most important part to protect is obviously the head to reduce ohko breakpoints, and then the chest for pretty much the same reasons + it has the largest hitbox so it'll most likely get hit the most. As for legs & arms, you only want enough dmg reduction to not get T3/T2 injuries too often. The thing is that, regardless of your armor, you'll still get injured a lot on legs and arms so you might as well use lighter parts to boost your strafe speed. Also, I understand your point of "more armor is always better over speed", but that's not always true. If you have poor spatial awareness and/or aren't a good fps player, then yeah full heavy is the way to go since it's way more forgiving. However, it's also lowering your skill ceiling as it makes you much slower, especially when strafing. So if you're confident in your aim and know how to position yourself, being able to strafe and sprint faster will always give you a massive edge over someone who's in full heavy, especially against players in the PU who are average in fps for the most part. That's why mixing armor type is so important imo, as you can get the best of both worlds : heavy gives you the best protection and reduce breakpoints (even ohko) for the most sensitive parts (head, chest), while lighter armor for the limbs give you better strafe speed and thus dodge shots more easily. As for the weapons, karna / p4 are good primaries. They are very accurate if you compensate their recoil, so you can basically beam people's heads with them. FS9 on the other hand gives you a much better uptime than rifles while still having good ttk and an easy recoil to manage. And lastly, always slot a light backpack, unless you're doing an OP with your org and you know you'll stay in fps for a while. But even then don't go over a medium backpack, since a large backpack does nothing more than slowing you down and making you appear bigger.
@@Coastin you can make a vid about it if you want, it's not like it's secret knowledge or anything. It's just that few people know about this because they don't bother theory crafting, nor do they know exactly what armour does, so most of the times they just go full heavy and call it a day. And tbf, full heavy is indeed the right choice for someone who's bad at fps since he wouldn't benefit from the extra strafe speed & mobility as much as the extra ehp anyway.
