Also shoutout to AFC Group B that forced Japan to visit not one, not two, but THREE FUCKING WAR ZONES

-ish. The North Korea home game got called off and the Syria home game was in Saudi Arabia. But they DID have to go to Myanmar!
@@SuperJNG18 Oh I knew about the North Korea but didn't know they moved the Syria one too. Omitted that fact because jokes

Lesotho at the world cup would be the most hilarious thing ever, it sounds so awesome.
Thee funny thing is, there may be multiple minnows in the WC from CAF💀

'International Football Roundup' is my favourite type of Zealand video, so I'm glad they still exist over here on Zealandism!
I completely forgot that the CONCACAF-qualification would become a free-for-all, and it might become the most entertaining thing that football has ever seen.
Only for Africa to become a football anarchy.
I’m South African and I can tell you right now, NO ONE is surprised Lesotho is on top. They outperformed everyone in the last COSAFA Cup. They literally came second. We all knew they were going to place high, they’re definitely better than us and Zimbabwe. I remember the frenzy in the country during COSAFA, Lesotho was like unofficially being pushed throughout the nation as the team to support after SA gets knocked out. Lesotho is good bro, no one but you is surprised Zealand
South Africa is better than Lesotho we just lack consistency
Dikwena Held Ivory Coast 0-0 In The AFCON Qualifiers.
Who tf actually takes cosafa cup seriously
@@sfisob8814 results don’t lie, we are not better, we just think we are. It’s like a - let’s say Chelsea for example, finishing below Brighton 2 seasons in a row and still claiming they are better because they are ‘supposed’ to be better. It counts for nought
@@that3401 you answered your own question
I'm so glad that somebody is as excited about this as I am. I love following the qualifying from the early rounds onwards. Been doing it for the last few world cups and there's always some amazing stories that go completely unnoticed by the general public, like Syria's miracle run in the 2018 qualifiers.
Sudan is also in the middle of a civil war 💀
Well it's not looking well for us.
But we managed to get to 2021 Afcon after beating South Africa and Ghana so you never know. Though it's nice to see us up there but there are still 7 matches to go and I doubt we can keep the consistency. Hopefully we manage to pull it off because evem if we got 2nd there is almost no way we make it to the world cup by getting 2nd.
I'm sudanese and it's honestly awful, i'm pretty sure sudanese league matches have been cancelled
@@Z7E4 yeah mate i think the sudanese league is the least of your concerns 😭
inshallah the situation improves though, it's awful to see what's going on there
@@Infimet Nah man sudanese league was entertaining before the war

Brazil being underneath Ecuador is crazy,
Brazil being underneath an Ecuador that has a 3 point penalty right now is even crazier! o.o
I blame it on Diniz.
@@queenzoroarkI blame CBF instead. Tite announced a whole fucking year early that he would be out after the World Cup and CBF made 0 plans ahead to find a successor. Then the collective fever dream of the idea of Ancellotti becoming the manager happened, they decided to go all in on a dumb bet and brought Diniz as interim.
It's just a pathetic clown show at every stop.
It's probably the worst Brazil team of all time.
@@kats1646 I said it as a joke but I agree, but CBF itself is a joke on its own.

Nice to see a Zealandism video with a "proper" title instead of something like "what was that?"
Give it time…
Nah, I like the weird titles
UA-cam videos almost need the weird titles for the clicks
I only click the video if it has a proper title or I can see the thumbnail to know waht is it about
Maybe interesting to know, that both Surinam and Indonesia can select Dutch players (with Sur. resp. Ind. roots or something) in their squads. You will notice a few Dutch names in their line ups, who play in the Dutch eredivisie or second tier, or somewhere else in Europe. This is also the case for Curacao and other former Dutch Antilles islands, but they don't have that many players in the Netherlands.
That Djibouti Joke got me😂. A real thinker that one
Madagascar and Comoros ahead of Ghana and Mali, just normal stuff here
Also the South Sudan x Sudan derby 👀
Ready to face our Southern brothers👊
Thanks Zea I almost forgot about Singapore getting bent over by South Korea until you talked about the World Cup Qualifiers
Might as well let Thailand walk over you on the chance it'll get china off in an embarrassing fashion
I think Venezuela is the best team that’s never made the World Cup. They’re a baseball country but have had lots of good football players over the years
I think that's Mali or Uzbekistan
I miss Juan Arango.

The fact that Lesotho, Madagascar and Solomon Islands all have their best chance yet to qualify for the World Cup…
just ordered my lesotho national team shirt they better not let me down
The most insane thing in this video is the fact that Asian World Cup qualifications is almost finished. And the World Cup is still 2 years away. Wild.
No, there are more rounds of qualifying.
All things considered, Bangladesh had some decent performances at home this time around (according to Bangladesh standards), holding Australia & Palestine to 2 & 1 goals respectively and drawing Lebanon, ignore our away record 👀
With the Palestine pulling a Leverkusen
The away games didn't happen
international qualifying videos are my favorite subgenre and its not even close
I get happy hearing the little African countries get shout-outs. One of my best buddies is from Togo.
As a Colombian, we are professionals at drawing anything that comes our way. Except the United States apparently
Rwanda's Striker plays for my USL League 1 side. Imagine a team with a USL 1 team plays in the World Cup lol
Damn, Lesotho competing against Nigeria, South Africa and Benin for 2 spots with a largely domestic squad is just something else haha.
Interesting thing is that Lesotho plays their home matches IN South Africa which means we only have 2 away matches and 5 home matches left
"Home"
As an African, I have long held that Africa has too few qualifying spots. We have as many countries on our continent as Europe, and we have a lot of really great teams that constantly miss the world cup because of weird qualification setups, corruption, and plain bad luck when it comes to drawing groups. On top of that, most of the teams in Africa in general play at a higher standard than in many other parts of the world where there is a large gap between the good teams and the minnows. In Africa, the quality gaps between teams is much smaller, which means that really good teams can miss a world cup by having one below average game. For example, there is no reason to me why a team like Angola, has only been to one world cup. Or why either a team like Senegal or DR Congo won't go to the world cup because they both were drawn in the same group.
Edit: and as a final point - because of the limited spots Africa is alloted, we almost never get a feel good story like Lesotho (who had a great Cosafa cup), qualifying for the world cup like in other parts of the world where it's great to see someone like Panama qualifying for example.
God the pronunciation of those countries😂😂😂😂. Appreciate the consistent content brother
Cayman Islands got their first world cup qualifying win ever !! Also check out Aedon Scipio from Anguilla, his hair is so long he has a waist band to tuck it into

It's worth mentioning that Malaysia still has a very slim chance to advance to the third round of the World Cup qualification, but ONLY if Malaysia is able to overcome the massive goal difference between them and Kyrgyzstan (which is eight goals in total). And the only way for them to advance further is to obliterate Chinese Taipei by eight goals and hope that Oman will beat Kyrgyzstan in the final group match (though five to seven goals is fine, but they have to hope Oman beating Kyrgyzstan with a bigger scoreline if they didn't beat their opponent 8-0).
Fortunately for Malaysia, as they are playing in their home ground in the final group match, so did Oman.
The thing that should be mentioned about Libya and Sudan is that whilst their national sides aren't great, their domestic leagues are amongst the stronger ones in africa, which does give them an advantage, particularly when other teams don't have their strongest squads available
well in the case of Sudan it's basically just two clubs, but they do consistently do well in continental comps
No they arnt
I understand that CONMEBOL is generally regarded as the toughest qualification path, but you'd think Suriname would fancy their chances if they moved back to their home continent. Hell, they might even get their best players to chose them rather than the Netherlands if they have the opportunity to play Argentina and Brazil every couple of years
🇵🇷 Vamos Puerto Rico 🇵🇷
This squad/pool has a lot of potential
with Jeremy de Leon in Real Madrid Castilla, but Ancelotti liking his work ethic so he trained with the main team in Spain & traveled with them even tho he couldn't play
Antonetti scored vs Atletico de Madrid in January in Copa del Rey which was a nice 3 Kings day present in Puerto Rico & was his teams tied top scorer with La Liga teams looking at him
& at lot of guys also taking the chance on MLS Academies like Wilfredo Rivera & Colby Quiñones also there is randomly 1 Puerto Rican in Botafogo 🤣
It is always nice to see my country stil on top after 3 matches ahead of Senegal. But looking at our performances and the sitiuation with the Eisa brothers as well as the condition of the country, I doubt we will be able to keep this consistency for the upcoming 7 matches. But hopefully we pull it off.
Also, I don't think our match against South Sudan will be heated. We are actually somewhat chill with them right now.
Bro is such a nerd that he makes a video after 3 matchdays in groups with 6 teams in Africa, but i love it)
Nigeria have just lost to Benin lol. Also, just discovered this channel it's great stuff, right up my street

Crazy to think that Lesotho is 3 spots ahead of south africa even though their land is inside them
As a Syrian, the loss against North Korea was quite embarrassing and the team is at high risk of elimination. The team only had to draw to advance to the next stage, but they lost and now have to beat the mighty Japan or pray North Korea choke their Myanmar matchup
