Al Khail Road Improvement Project
Al Khail Road is an extremely significant arterial road in Dubai. This road is about 15 kilometres long and has over a dozen significant intersections. The entire route travels through Dubai's most fast growing and developing outskirts. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) hired AECOM (Architecture, Engineering, Construction, Operations, and Management) to handle the design work and construction management of this most important project.
The roundabouts around the road were converted into flyover interchanges. Further, the number of lanes was increased from four to six in both directions, and the road was expanded by 15 kilometres. This included all utility improvements, and free flow of traffic in both directions was ensured. These road improvements were quite necessary for the city for various reasons. The most important was to enhance its road systems and creek crossings, RTA has employed integrated solutions. The project is divided into six phases by RTA. The first three phases are currently under construction. I am sure the viewers are quite excited to know about this project and its impact on Dubai’s infrastructure maintenance.
