sweet, im about to start my build, have a xj with a rusted out un but am planning to set it on a ford ranger frame and use bed too. hopefully it comes out as sweet as this!
Very nice! And what a unique Comanche. I wonder why Jeep never considered a 4-door, or even a cab-and-a-half version of their pickup? (Maybe to avoid competing against Dodge Rams of the same configuration?") I like the more narrow and compact dimensions of that era of Comanche and XJ Cherokees. And good on the manual transmission! I like the engagement of shifting my own gears.
Jeep did produce a few crew cabs for auto shows but you are right due to the development of the crew cab dodge Dakota, they canceled the plans in order to eliminate internal competition.
nice comanche crew cab and very well executed job¡¡ im starting a build mine too, with and ls and super duty differentials, i have a question like the seats you adapt in to it, can you say waht car and year model you pulled from?
Did you know that the Comanche is a L200 from Mitsubishi ,And it was available in four doors ? Just go to Central or South America and you’ll find lots of it and at a cheap price. All the 90’s (square body) are available now to import to USA 🇺🇸 , Even the diesel versions and it comes in 4x4 too.
I don’t think that’s true, the XJ was a joint venture with AMC and Renault, the MJ is a derivative of the XJ unibody with the addition of the frame on bed design. The 2.5 is a Renault engine and the 4.0 is an AMC engine.
@@comanchecrewcab , AMC only used the turbo diesel i4 from Renault on the first Gen , the v6 was a gmc engine. The 2.5 and the 4.0 are AMC . The body of the L200 and the Comanche are pretty much the same. The only difference is the Comanche had a unibody and the L200 is a body on frame . Later after the end of production of the Comanche Chrysler used the L200 and rebrand it as a Ram pickup. So…. Yes and no , with the Renault theory.
@Didier 619 you are 100% incorrect. Mitsubishi had nothing to do with the Commanche. The US got the Mitsubushi Mighty Max and a Dodge branded version of the L200 called the Ram 50. The Commanche also didn't use any mitsubishi engines, unlike other Chrysler products. These are two separate unrelated vehicles.
@comanchecrewcab just the top of the doors not the bottom. The comanche doors slant backwards.. them slanting back makes the truck look like it's going fast lol I'm not saying any of this out of disrespect or to discredit your work. It's an amazing build and honestly I want to try this same thing. The whole reason I stumbled across this video is because I plan on starting a build similar to this in June. I want to make the cab removable to reinforce the frame and while it's off make it a crew cab.. thank you for posting and I will Def be in touch when I start if I have questions if you are okay with it.
Easily the coolest jeep build I’ve ever seen
I'm so glad you kept the bed the same length and extended the frame. So many people just cut the roof of the trunk of a Cherokee and call it a pickup.
They've should have done something like that back in the 1970's or 1980's.
That is a shit ton of work. Excellent job. Looking foward to seeing finished.
Absolutely amazing. Built not bought. You had to engineer and fabricate all that and make it work. Well done. One of a kind!
感恩,謝謝分享!
Loved to see the project come this far! I have a 96 xj and can’t stop daydreaming about it having a truck bed.
Same just mines a 94 zj 5.2 v8
How much will u pay for a Comanche
Wow man, looks well thought out and executed! Very cool to see the process in 3 minutes.
What an amazing ride!!! Love that, and idea of something outstanding, materialized
Looks great I really like it
You know what ya got, it ain't bought,
IT'S BUILT🎯😎☕
You Sir have to much time on your hands and its amazing
What an insane build. Nice work, looks good!
Cool build👍
This is amazing man.
That is amazing. You have some real talent and vision. Can’t wait to see it on the trail tearing it up!
Long mission of hard work! We Appreciate!
This thing blows my mind, I've got a 2000 xj 6.0 swapped and I thought that was cool until I saw this!
Now that is a build! 🔥🔥🔥
That is just freaking awesome!!!!!
Can't wait to see it complete
sweet, im about to start my build, have a xj with a rusted out un but am planning to set it on a ford ranger frame and use bed too. hopefully it comes out as sweet as this!
I’ve seen one with the rear half of a ranger cab, there’s a red one floating around the internet, has a nice bobbed bed
I just don’t know why jeep never made this available to buy ! Awsome build

@@comanchecrewcab And rats too as I've always liked the styling of that era of Jeep.
@@comanchecrewcab de hecho a mi me toco ver una con la insignia de edicion especial
Looks a chit ton better than a Gladiator.
That is awesome!
In for the music & the MJ ain’t bad either.
Jon Wolfe has a great catalog of music!
I’d buy one!
nice comanche crew cab and very well executed job¡¡
im starting a build mine too, with and ls and super duty differentials,
i have a question

Damn Hank is right.
Great Work,imho
Man that is an awesome build. Like others have said...well thought out.
What about the glass for the rear doors?
Hand cut from old front windows
What front bumper are you running, I’d like to get one like that for my mj
It’s a warrior products bumper
What type of wheels are on that Comanche. They look like beadlocks. I’d love to put them on a lifted Jeep xj
They are black rhinos faux bead locks
I need one build
Me gustaría hacer lo mismo pero usando un chasis j4000
Отлично!
Hey, I have a Comanche myself but I don't know where to look for after-market parts since I want to modify it. Please help me out
Hanamann does after market fender flairs, I make most of mine or modify Cherokee aftermarket parts to fit
@@comanchecrewcab oh okay I see
@@comanchecrewcab I googled the Hanamann but I wasn't getting any straight results
where did you get the vinyl dash?
It’s the stock dash
How much has this cost not including labor?
Not much steel is cheap and labor is free
What’s your wheelbase?
129”
@@comanchecrewcab thank you for the quick reply
just need a long bed
Check out RSD fab, he did one with a longer bed
