I really have to thank you: last year, after i have seen your video about Portugal, i have decided to book two solo travels: one in Oslo and the other in Lagos&Porto. They were two amazing trips, i felt so empowered. After that trips, i have received a job offer and i moved from Italy to Paris, making my experience here more consciousness. I have learnt that feel alone is different from being alone: i am alone, but full of joy and ready to start a new chapter in my life. So, thanks again for your videos! A big hug!
Can you offer any advice on how to be safe while solo traveling? As a young woman, I am a bit afraid to travel alone but it’s something that I’d love to do. Love your videos 💛
I'm a student living on minimum wage from a part time job so I can't afford to travel now, but I love watching your travel videos as they inspire me to think that one day I too can go travelling around the world. Hopefully, once the world is back to normal I will be going to a country close to me (UK) such as Belgium or France as I've been saving up for a while :)
I've decided to go on my first solo trip and while I'm terrified I'm also very excited. I want to start a blog during this time. I really appreciate your videos and just wanted to say thank you for making these goals feel achievable. I just came across your channel and am currently binge watching it 😆
I’m a Toronto girl living in Nairobi, Kenya for work. I travel quite a bit for work but this lockdown has made me realize I’m not taking advantage of all the beautiful places around me. As soon as it’s safe to travel I’m going to Tanzania or maybe Morocco.
Hey, I am from Wales UK. I should have been in Cyprus right now, with all my friends, being a bridesmaid at one of my best friend's wedding. Ah well, I am still feeling super grateful that it's been warm and sunny here for weeks, and North Wales is super beautiful
Hi, Allison! You're an absolute inspiration to me. Your positivity and tenacity are both qualities that have helped me gain more momentum again in my life and I'm absolutely ecstatic when I see a new video from you, every time! Thank you for all you do. Keep that flame lit, because you're a torch that is brightening many lives.
15 years living in New York and, although it's a horrid place for lockdown, I still adore it. Can't wait for things to be open again, both here at home and travel-wise. Cheers to the new adventures!
Your videos have inspired me to start solo travelling! Of course travel looks really different right now but in my province, they are encouraging inner province travel, so I'll be starting with a small "local adventure" for a weekend getaway but hope to do some international solo travel when things are safer! I've really appreciated all your travel vlogs and tips :)
It would be really cool if you made a video on moving to the Philippines. It would be interesting to hear about the culture shock and how your school situation was. It would also be cool to hear about traveling to Australia when it doesn’t take 13+ hours!
I am an American expat and youtuber living in Alsace, France! Once the French borders open up, I'm planning a hiking trek up Voralberg (kanisfluh mountain) in Austria!
I miss traveling so much! I am so happy and grateful that my husband and I got to go to Italy last summer! Talk about amazing timing! We went to several cities, and my favorite is probably either Florence or Venice!
i have been watching your vlogs for the longest time now and I've been both inspired and motivated to pursue my solo travel adventures and it's nice to hear that you lived in my country, the Philippines!
My husband and I were going to visit my sister and brother-in-law in St. Paul MN and then we were going on a family trip with my parents to Chicago. Both trips got canceled. Now my parents and my husband and I may go to Santa Barbara for a couple of days. We do have a trip to Palm Springs booked for Thanksgiving week. Next April we may be going to Hawaii. So I hope we have a vaccine by then.
Honestly the first time i’ve ever feel that travel is something that I would love to do someday is when i was 14 or 15 when i travelled solo to Georgia in Atlanta to my cousins for we were attending a concert and we travelled to my aunt’s at her house in savannah and I loved the place so much so pretty and calming that I decided that I would definitely travel more in the future. My dream destination/s are the Maldives, Paris and most of Italy for sure. Can’t wait to see more travelling related videos ☺️
Love your videos Allison! I enjoy watching your travel videos and I would love to learn more about how you film and edit them. I especially love the cinematic feeling of them. I’m a huge travel lover too and am interested in learning how to document my trips through photography and videography.
Instead of Bora Bora, research Moorea 🌴🐬 It’s closer to Tahiti from Bora Bora so it’s a little easier/cheaper to get to and it’s just as beautiful but a bit more affordable!
New subscriber!! & you are so very helpful✨I loved the easy overview on how anyone can travel domestic or international. Allison this was super helpful!! Thankyou bunches 🥰 I can’t wait to get back out there and travel !!
My husband and I love international travel! We went on our first overseas trip together on our honeymoon. 16 days in France and Italy in 2018. We wanted to travel abroad every year for the next few years before we start a family, so last year (2019) we spent a week in the Netherlands. We were hoping to spend time in Eastern Europe this year, but now we’re not sure if that’s going to be possible. We love exploring Europe, but I would love to visit south east Asia at some point! Love your travel content!
I graduated last September and started working in November which means I could finally travel. A friend and I booked a trip to Barcelona for a week in March and it got cancelled... our tickets are on hold so we can use them later but it still sucks.
I live in France, I have 2 planned trips for this summer, the Lofoten Islands in Norway and Menorca (a spanish island). The borders should be open. Fingers crossed! And hopefully I will come back to the US soon. Favorite country in the entire world 🥰
Hi Allison! Great video! Love all the travel content. My country (and specifically province, BC, Canada) is doing quite well with the virus right now. Last I checked, there was only 250 active covid cases in BC. The province has started to encourage travelling in your own area/ province. Although I’m tempted, I also think now is a good time to just save save save for a down payment. Travel is my biggest expense outside rent right now. Once this is over, if my boyfriend can swing it, I’d like to go to Maui or Tulum, Mexico! If he can’t swing it, I was planning a trip (nothing booked!) to Portugal and Spain so I’d probably do that. Maybe the Middle East as there were tentative plans of going there in about 18-24 months anyway. Take care!!
me too i don't like museums and too much history, i'd rather be outdoors and you can still learn a lot about history by talking to locals. i love the outdoors it makes me feel calm :) don't feel like a bad person lol!! i'm pretty sure a lot of people agree hehe
Had to cancel my month long trip to Peru! would have been there right now but I have been going down rabbit hole of travel videos!! Can't wait until we can get out and explore again!
Wow!! That’s a very good advice .. about creating a travel content closer to home.. i’m from the philippines and I leave in Canada now. My videos here in Canada will seem to feel like a travel vlog to my subscribers in the Philippines..:)
I was planning to travel to New Orleans in September but that's almost certainly not happening. Morocco and Iceland are most likely next up after that.
Hi Allison! I found your channel today by chance as I was searching for travel tips for Joshua Tree and ended up watching your Alaska video too (gorgeous video btw). Anyways, I noticed that you do solo travel and is also married, so I was thinking "I wonder how you worked that out with your husband?" This is a question I thought about this week and I was thinking maybe it's impossible to travel solo as a married woman. And when I saw that you do, I was really encouraged and excited that maybe this can be a thing for me too in the future. I'm so glad you shared your story with your viewers! Hopefully, I can get there one day!
I just graduated university and had a whole 2 month trip planned in Europe. I am really bummed its cancelled 😞 I don't know when I will be able to go now. I start my new job in August The only good thing is that since I had so much $ saved up for my trip, I was able to help my parents who were furloughed.
Bummed about your canceled Asia trips! I’m currently living in Cambodia so I’d love to see you travel South East Asia! I’m hoping I’ll still be able to make it to Japan, Indonesia or South Korea this year. 🌎 ✨
It's totally worth visiting! I studied abroad there in 2013 and I loved it. I ate a lot of tasty food and started dancing tango and salsa there. Even though the flights to Argentina are rarely cheap, the living expenses are relatively low. I was checking out Airbnb prices for September-October and there were really nice apartments for about $20/night. Crazy! If you go, you have to try medialunas, dulce de leche , ice cream and alfajores. I hope you have a sweet tooth!
I live in Rome, Italy. Do to Covid-19 I had to cancel summer plan to visit Scotland this summer, but I just to pospone it to summer 2021. For the moment I remain in Italy spending time in my beautiful country going to Puglia next august. I work in a travel agency and this situation is bad for everyone who loose loved ones, jobs and for our specific work. But as we will go out of this virus people starts to travel again.....so ..... we have to resist and hope this will end soon ♥
I'm dying to go somewhere!! But, I was able to escape to Lake Tahoe for Memorial Day weekend and that was nice. I was still pretty much stuck indoors, but I was able to have different scenery and a nice drive. I have a trip planned for Sea Ranch, CA in September. Fingers crossed I can still go.
@@allisonanderson You should go!! I will guess for you, North Shore is be better - it's quieter. Incline Village is very nice. South Shore is nice too, but that's where the casinos are. But ALL of Lake Tahoe is amazing. If you fly into Reno, it's only about a 45 minute drive into the Tahoe area and just a bit longer to specific destinations.
Amazing video! Omg you had 3 separate trips in Asia cancelled? I'm so sorry to hear that. I had several trips cancelled too and I cannot wait for everything to settle down and get back on a plane haha and I am definitely the "ask a stranger" to take pictures of me when I travel alone haha
My next trip is the first week of August to Orlando, my first time there. A friend's aunt has a timeshare at a really nice resort and offered it up. So lodging will be free and the flight was was quite affordable. When is the next trip you already have booked that you plan to follow through with?
I’m originally from the States but my Mom is from Peru so I’ve traveled there multiple times in my life. I’m hoping to travel the East coast after this whole this dies down and maybe visit some places in Europe.
I can’t wait to travel! 😎 I have to rewrite a new bucket list for this year. Question, would you recommend a travel agent or just stick to self booking? You touched on it briefly
I was going to go to Portugal in July, inspired by you :( And in April I had a long weekend trip to North Macedonia. Both of these and many more I hope to go to later when all this is better.
Hi Allison! I was wondering if you had any tips or could do an in-depth video about starting a blog? I am really interested in starting one but don't know where to start or what website platform is the best.
So nervous to travel solo especially if i wanna go somewhere at night. it is sad how cause i am a girl i am afraid to travel solo especially if i wanna do something at night.
I don't know... sure there's pent up demand to go outside but then again money is tight for quite a lot of people bec of covid that even if you personally can afford it, traveling might not be all that fun anymore?
Roadtrip somewhere with my bestfriend. We live on opposite coasts. Although that’s usually what we do when we’re together anyways. Until then, it’s gonna be a lot of day hikes and a couple overnight backpacking trips. Just bought my first backpacking tent in the REI sale! Need to christen it!
Thanks! It's Behr Brooklyn and it is the perfect smoky forest green/blue/grey color. I went to all the paint stores and swatched everything looking for exactly this one and it is THE ONE. Highly recommend.
Thanks for the questions! Where is the first place you want to visit once travel is safe again?
India
St. Petersburg! I’ve got a 3 year tourist visa to Russia, so I’ve got to get back!
Portugal!
Spain and Japan! 😍
London

Such a bummer!
Thank you for being such an inspiration 💕 I’ve been watching your channel for many years and your evolution has been awesome to watch!
Thanks for watching for so long!
Feeling very wanderlusty.

Some really good advice. I especially liked, “work with what you have” and “close to home is far away for someone else”. Thanks.

My husband worked on a cruise ship and got to travel everywhere but he didnt get to leave the ship at every port.
I was planning to travel to New Orleans in September but that's almost certainly not happening. Morocco and Iceland are most likely next up after that.
New Orleans looks so fun
Omg history sometimes bore me too. So happy to hear from a traveler that it’s not all about that!! 😅

Allison, when will you come to India especially Meghalaya (Shillong)?
I love your vlog. What color Luts you used?
I want to go to Seattle!
I recommend Puerto Rico for travel if you haven’t been already ❤️ 🇵🇷
But travelling like we did is not sustainable and it needs to change! I hope travel habits do change!
I don't know... sure there's pent up demand to go outside but then again money is tight for quite a lot of people bec of covid that even if you personally can afford it, traveling might not be all that fun anymore?
Have you ever had a bed bug scare while traveling?
I will hopefully be visiting family in WI for the Fourth of July if it’s safe to do so 🤞🏽
What is the website that you use to book tours and search for classes when you travel?
Sadly I had a couple of trips canceled as well. :(
Would you go on the amazing race, if given the opportunity? If so, who would you go with?
Cool 😎 I love travel videos 👍🏻 ad I love to make travel videos 🎞👌 best cinematic greetings from a small 😉 german filmmaker
Have you been to Philippines again?
