I heard this song at a local party and asked what it was. Conspiracy Of One was my first owned album ever. I got my parents to buy me one (the skull was an issue) and when I put the CD in my stereo... Guy... My teenage soul couldn't comprehend it. I will remember that day until I die. Every single song was a banger. That was the day I decided to start playing guitar. I listen to The Offspring to this day. Still have the CD.
I was deeply, madly in love with Offspring 20 years ago before moving on to melodic death. A random conversation with my wife today suddenly reminded me how much headbanging I did to this song, so I came here to give it another listen. And boy, did it *not* disappoint. It's not even nostalgia - the song's actually *better* than I remembered. I mean, I didn't remember it had a solo. What an absolute masterpiece of composition and energy.
Love Offspring! They are one of the few bands that managed to fuse Rock, Metal and Punk together seamlessly and still be so much fun to listen to and watch.

Put this song on repeat and TRY to get sick of it. YOU CAN'T. Saw them at the Metro in Chicago on the Ixnay tour. I was near death with the flu, but there was NO WAY I was missing the show. EASILY as good live as in the studio. Top 5 band in my library.
I've seen them twice, once right before covid and once right after.. really enjoyed both shows. Wish I had the means to see them on the Ixnay tour, (my fav album) but I lived out in the sticks

Even ppl that don't like the band can still tell within the first few seconds of one of there songs is the offspring playing it. They just have there own style man. It's awesome. For me this is their best song. Long live the offspring.
Top5 I'd say, better than the original prankster
36 year-old school principal here. I still ride my skateboard and listen to The Offspring from time to time. This song means a lot to me.
This is prolly my fav song from conspiracy of one. I wanna see them live one day
There was a time
Looking through myself
Wanting to pretend
If I escaped I could fill myself
I don't think you can
Been far and wide
But that hole inside
Never really leaves
I went away
But I really left
Left behind was me
It's telling me
To be on my way
Hooooooooooome
Ohh oh oh, ohh oh oh
A Million Miles Away
(Ohh oh oh, ohh oh oh)
A Million Miles Away
I can't say
"I can stay"
(Ohh oh oh, ohh oh oh)
A Million Miles Away
Each passing day
Every passing face
Seems like such a blur
I long to be
Home silently
Lying next to her
Just to get back
By her side is all,
All I need to be
I went away
What I really left
Left behind was me
I need to be
Getting on my way
Hooooooooooome
Ohhhh oh oh oh
A Million Miles Away
(Oh oh oh, oh oh oh)
A Million Miles Away
I can't take
I can't take
A Million…
