Come on you Asked Hailey the same question 5 times (if she will endorse trump). How about u ask her if she is positioning herself to be given the nomination if Trump is forced out by legal issues. Cause that's really her only path. She's pretending to continue to run because she is competitive, but really just making sure she is a clear number 2 in case.

Even if Trump is forced out doesn’t guarantee her the nomination but instead due to her remaining in the race guarantees her not getting the nomination because she is making herself not a fan of the Trump base who she is going to need to back her and for sure they won’t which is why DeSantis just suspended his campaign so if that happened he can still be a candidate if that happened. She could have did the same thing. All she is doing is making sure her political career is over in the Republican Party.

Rep. Dingell really knows how to handle Welker. She is a passionate advocate for her constituents, but when Welker tried to dig for criticism of Biden, she handily swatted those questions away by asserting that her conversations with the President were private. More guests need to assert themselves in that way.

Most EFFECTIVE negotiations, whether between countries, between parties, or within the same party, require a protected space away from the glare of camera lights and the blare of megaphones. Our Founders understood this when they adopted the “Injunction to Secrecy” before the Constitutional Convention: “That no copy be taken of any entry on the journal during the sitting of the House, without leave of the House. That nothing spoken in the House be printed, or otherwise published or communicated without leave.” George Mason described the purpose of the injunction as follows: “All communications of the proceedings are forbidden during the sitting of the convention; this I think was a necessary precaution to prevent misrepresentations or mistakes; there being a material difference between the appearance of a subject in its first crude and undigested shape, and after it shall have been properly matured and arranged.”

Dingell responded that way-she was asking for a value judgment, I.e. “how big a problem is this?” and “is he doing enough?”, hoping she could gather a juicy quote for headlines like “MICHIGAN DEM *SLAMS* BIDEN!!!” or “‘HE’S NOT DOING ENOUGH TO KEEP THEIR VOTES’ LAMENTS BIDEN ALLY IN MICHIGAN”. Yawn 🥱. As I said, Rep. Dingell advocates well for the priorities of her constituents, and Welker’s interview would be a lot more interesting and informative if every question weren’t framed in terms of national politics and the Biden v Trump horse race.
Kornacki is a gem. He does great work. His analysis is always thoroughly done.

Welker was good as a White House reporter but absolutely sucks in the position. Her main Achilles heel is her insistence on trying to please everyone. She answers in vague non-comital terms. I don't believe that she doesn't have any real opinions, but she doesn't have the courage to say what they are, and that's putting off a lot of people unfortunately.

While the media may wants to make candidate enthusiasm the hot topic, my enthusiasm is driven by the threat of seeing America turned into something I don't recognize anymore. We went through that already having a ad-hoc TV actor using America as a prop to make himself look like a big shot. The Trump Admin was a slow moving train wreck then and his actions and deeds has gotten worse after he lost the election. Why should we have to go through that again? I'm staying the course with what we have because by all the metrics America is in a much better place and going backward with Trump isn't even an option. That's all the enthusiasm one needs!

I'm not a politician but it seems to me that by not supporting recent meetings and possible bipartisan agreements at the border. the Republicans don''t want a win for Biden in this election year. I'm assuming with all the politicians visting the border and assuming they asked border control agents that live this every day about their views. The border problem is decades old with different parties at the helm. I don't think the American people trust either party creating the highest frustration level in years.

When I hear about "Meet the Press" I think about the very good and great news journalist Tim Russert. He created and built the foundation of the Sunday morning news program "Meet the Press". I remember watching Russert report some of the very important political news topics back then, and he did it in a very popular way. Russert reported the news reports, didn't give and opinion, he allowed viewers to form their own opinions.
That's the reason why "Meet the Press" was so popular back then. After Rusert's passing, "Meet the Press" has slowly declined in popularity due to liberal news journalists with biased opinions and who constantly pass judgement and attack/ criticize others who don't share their personal political views like David Gregory, Chuck Todd, and now Kristen Welker. These news journalists just mentioned really ruined a very good Sunday morning news program.
Perhaps this is where AI technology will shine, a machine interviewing guests without a political or personal opinion and also having a complete and accurate history of all the interviewees previous comments, actions and lies.
The last time Meet the Press was good, Bill Monroe hosted it. Instead of having a single "moderator" ask questions, they used to have a panel of journalists interview the guests. The interviews were better, they didn't focus as much on horserace type stuff, and they actually did follow up questions. They didn't have the panel segments that they ripped off from shows like "The McLaughlin Group" either. The show was a lot better then.
