We considered a smaller boat but to be honest we chose a 60 foot as there are two of us and our dogs living aboard and it was the right decision for us we love the extra space in saying that if you live solo then a smaller boat is super every boaters priorities differ according to what they need. Good luck in all you achieve your looking free and happy and efficient.

Hi Kayleigh, you made winding look so easy. I guess being a solo boater makes a smaller boat more suitable, you don't need double the wardrobe space. I have to say I myself prefer the traditional layout, and the idea of sitting in the saloon, and having the front doors open. Though again if you have crew on board, I do see the advantage of the social aspect of the reverse layout.
What a manoeuvrable fab little boat you've got there, it seemed to spin so effortlessly and without lots of revs. That's such a nice mooring spot as well - I moored in almost the exact same spot last Autumn with a hire boat and was gutted that I could only stay for a day and overnight. Loved it. It's not a bad place to be locked down, I guess!
These narrowboats appear to be a 24/7 maintenance headache. The soggy climate of England certainly doesn't help. A change of thought: I always wonder how much debris has been tossed in the English canals throughout history ?

I'm just curiou about something... why do you point your camera at the person talking (you), instead of pointing it at what you are doing? For instance, showing us where you're navigating the boat, where you are leaving, when/where you're turning, and where you're going. A camera outside on the bank would be a helpful view as well. We see you, we hear you, but you're describing an activity, an event that individuals have requested information about. However, the only thing we saw was you talking and moving about as you steered your fine boat. Images afterward, of the solar panels and the canal were great though. Loved the views of your boat inside! I enjoy your captioning too, which seems like a great tool for communicating fully/fast. Loved the shot of ice breaking, too! Thanks for sharing such great content and taking the extra time to upload videos for others to enjoy, because I think it is fantastic to check out and view other people's lifestyles. The nature shots are really, really cool. Take care!

10 degrees and it’s too hot for the fire😆 if it drops to 10 degrees here I’m digging out all my winter woolies and cranking up the heater, I can see we’re going to go through a lot of coal if we stay on our boat over winter 🥶
There are also non residential moorings that you can live on just not use as an address, i live on a CaRT leisure mooring, been here 4 years, move now and than (well not since lockdown) got secure mooring 36ft 22 quid a week plus electric.
I think your boat is just perfect for 1 person plus a dog or 2, it'd certainly be sub 40' for me as well! How big is your water tank and is the water drinkable from the waterpoints or do you have to get bottled water? Love the worktops in your kitchen btw!
I agree with you Tanya. My water tank is approx 200 litres which if I'm careful will last two weeks. Yes the water from the water point is drinkable. Thank you :)

Hi, We are thinking of selling up and continuous cruising, we can work remotely so we would ask how do you find internet speed and connectivity when moving around, Nice to hear there are scots on the canal so we won't be alone :-) .
Hi I have a router on board with an unlimited data SIM card on the 3 network. I find it works well with no issues really. I went for 3 as it uses the masts of other networks which is good for more remote areas. In cities and build up areas 3 isn’t as good so it’s a bit of a compromise. In built up areas I use my phone data which is on EE so it works fine. Haha glad to have a fellow Scot on board 😊
I have always been a fan of smaller campers , it is a challenge to build what you need into a small space and still be comfortable. it can be done and they are many advantages to going small.
Check out your information about licences, CRT say: “Is my licence a different price if I have a home mooring instead of continuously cruising? No, it costs the same whether you have a home mooring or continuously cruise.” I think you’re getting mixed up with residential moorings v continuous cruising.
Wow! That zippy come-about your boat can do - no winding hole required - has got to be *the* prime selling feature for your 37'-er. Everyone else often has to go an annoying half-hour or more out of their way just to turn around, so maneuverability really should go on everyone's pro/con spreadsheet when figuring out what size boat to get.
Ha, ha... Don't believe a word of it! 😳 It's perfectly easy to make a pig's ear of turning even a little boat... Remember the cut is bowl shaped in cross section and you can be assured that if you do get a flat bottomed nose stuck on the offside mud you'll need luck or a very big fella on the bank to pull you off 😕 Thus spaketh a boater of 40 years who still entertains gongoozlers with his maneuvers on occasion!
Not sure is asked elsewhere, but, with a continuous cruising license, OK you can stay in a spot for up to 14 days, then you have to move, but how far and what is the timescale before you can go back to a previous spot?

Hi we got the covers done in Nantwich (there is a canvas maker who works along side Venetian Marina - would highly recommend. In terms on internet we used the Vodafone mifi and found it works very well. 😊
It's not a case of finding somewhere to place a side hatch on smaller boats ...it's picking a hopper window to replace with a side hatch and having it installed.
