Mumbai Ahmedabad High Speed Rail Corridor (MAHSR) or Mumbai-Ahmedabad HSR is an under-construction high-speed rail line connecting India's economic hub Mumbai with the city of Ahmedabad. When completed, it will be India's first high-speed rail line.
Construction was expected to begin by April 2020,and the project was expected to be completed by December 2023. Due to delays acquiring land in Maharashtra, a completion date for the whole corridor is uncertain, though the 352km stretch through Gujarat may open in 2027. A stretch of 50 km (31 mi), from Surat to Bilimora, is expected to be completed by 2026.

In the UK they are currently building HS2 (Phase 1 from London Euston to Birmingham). It is now the biggest railway project here in the UK. The new trains on this line will I think roughly be the same speed as the bullet train in Japan and soon India. It just shows how far India has come over the years. Well done India.

The usual problem with our planning. The bullet train station should have been right on top or near the rail station, or may be move the rail station out towards the bullet train station. Make transfer between travel mode easier please.

Nit everything needs economical specially public transportation. Indian railways passenger transport is not in profit but freight is so should Indian close indian railways. Fright and transportation is important. Also Ahmedabad Mumbai is most bus6 and profitable route for Indian railways
