We had an insanely epic 100 roll penny hunt jackpot. The rolls came from Hawaii and I want to thank Mike with Pine Creek Coins for the trade.
This is part 155 of the series (Boxes 293-294) and I do plan on updating it from each penny box I hunt from this point forward until the penny coin collection is nearly completed! Also, we will be updating the Canadian Small Cents Albums going forward as well. Keep hunting and good luck! They're still out there for us to find!

I have coins
Well Rob since they came from Hawaii most flights to the inland leave San Francisco. Alot don't make it back. And it's been that way for long time. So if you're looking for S minted pennies you went to the right spot to look. Alaska is also a good place to look for Canadian coins. And wheat pennies cause a lot of pennies don't make the round trip.

I have not seen you get a collection dumb of Wheaties in a long long time. I remember the last one you had with I think 200 wheat cents.
I also found where all the copper for the copper cup went...😎
I got 1,000 Wheaties last week in a dump... customer wrapped $40 worth... 22 rolls were 150-155 grams and 95% Wheaties. 50 were pre 1940... nothing exceptional except for an 1890 Indian.
Only 3 S mints in all that. A lot of fun.
Whenever I see boxes like these, I don't think collection dump, I think of some guy throwing all his change in a water cooler jug or big old barrel for his entire adult life, passing away at the age of 95, and then his kids or grandkids just take all that change to the bank.

Definitely a situation where someone died and they just cashed in the coins. Crazy.
Well then I might expect more 56 to 58 dates and a lot more 59 to 81 copper.
Those are just his pennies. What happened to the nickels,dimes ,quarters,half dollars and dollar coins.
As a fellow Hawaii collector, I can confirm that we get a ton of S & D cents. Most of our banks also don't give us boxes when we order rolls of coins, so we have to us bank bags or our own boxes. What an awesome collection dump!

Wow!!! That was an AWESOME hunt. The other two bags I got from this bank had a total of 60 wheaties. Not even remotely close to what you got!
Also, just wanted to point out a mistake - the pennie’s are from the island of Kauai, not Honolulu. Next time I’ll be there I make sure to send you a couple more bags! They’re always loaded with wheaties! Enjoy all those wheaties and that album is almost done!

Thanks for helping Rob make this hunt possible, really cool one!! I may now have ANOTHER reason to go add HI to the list of the final states I need to make it to LOL. Next road trip, I totally need to try to get a penny box in each state I drive through (which would have been 22 boxes last trip hehe).

It makes sense that you find a lot of wheat cents from Hawaii, they would have been shipped there from the states, and once there that's where they stayed. Great hunt. 👍
Makes me wonder how coins circulate in Guam and Puerto Rico. Would be neat to get coin boxes from there territories

I am new at this hobby....but...i got my FIRST Collection Dump hunt last week...$10.00 worth of pennies...ALL LINCOLNS and Wheaties....95 percent " S mint marks!" Some nice coins for sure!! Keep ON HUNTIN, FOLKS!!
It’s possible that Hawaii gets a limited supply of fresh coins and the same older ones just circulate for decades. Or maybe not!

This is why west coast boxes are really good. Just like Hawaii, I find a lot of s and d minted wheat cents. Hoping to find some semi key or key s and d cents one day lol. I’d definitely get some more from the west coast since you need older cents with mint marks if you can. But nice hunt. Always fun seeing a collection dump every once in a while. Congrats rob

Phenomenal hunt! Beats the best box I've had by 4 times. Way more S mints than I usually find in Georgia. But I did get an 1883 with cents nickel in the last group of rolls I searched.

Great hunt! You mentioned you were going to "wipe away" the crud on a mint mark. Can you do a video showing how to do that? I just got 33 wheat rolls from an antique store and they are all sticky and filthy!
I personally would use acetone, but curious what others would suggest
@@JerryWick acetone? Wouldn't that cause issues if I wanted the coin graded?
@bethgracehallmark2219 I've never had any issues with it personally, but I've never had any coins graded. Hence why I would like to hear others input. Now, I don't douse the coins in it. I typically use a Qtip and lightly moisten and dab the trouble spots
Just opened my first quarter and dime box, finished the dime box with 2 silver rooseys and so far 2 silver quarters being 1938, 1936. THANKS wellsfargo

That I was starting a wheat cent penny album.... She told me she had an old cigar box in the attic that her father had filled with wheat pennies. She's giving me the box. Tomorrow I'll take a picture. I would really like your help going through this box.
