The figure that the video is most likely referring to is the population of the Treasure Valley, which does include Boise, but also includes Nampa and Meridian (the 2nd and 3rd largest cities in Idaho), as well as a few smaller cities and towns.

Beautiful city...but a piss-poor job market. Wages are low. However, if you are financially well off and don't have to worry about making a living, then Boise is a paradise.
Yeah, this is one of the few complaints I've heard about Boise. Unfortunately, it's a pretty big one. Hopefully tech could make a comeback there because IMO, I think it would be *perfect* for Boise. Not just for tech jobs alone, but improving wages there in general. On the flipside, it's nice they've been able to keep the cost of living relatively low compared to other cities its size.
