Keep in mind that the normal map is still just an illusions and doesn’t displace the mesh of the garment. If you want real texture, add a displacement map. That will change the actual garment texture. Check out my other video on all six maps!!
Great video! Thank you a lot. I think to rent photoshop per month only for this kind of work with maps. What can you advice, and please do more tutorials like this it helps a lot to understand how maps work ;)
thank you so much for your great explanation. I just couldn't understand the part that you used normal map editor. I try to use normal map but I cannot match it to the texture. there is some grids in texture/normalmap editor. how can I change the size of them? because they don't match the main file. I would be very appreciated if you answer me
Make sure you have clicked on the appropriate textile in the Object Browser and don't change the scale or orientation of the original material before you apply the normal map. Hope that helps!
good job on the normal map! i was blown away when you zoomed in that flower pattern and it really looked like a real 3D embroidery!

Thank you for your comment, Lily! CLO3D maps are limited to the fabrics they have so yes it is very helpful to use photoshop. I’ll add more videos.
