Another fun fact/bug: If your felony bar is empty and you perform the "Metro Glitch" in Miami (drive a car on the Metro rail and wait for the Metro to hit you a certain way and you go flying), you will get felony from moving extremely quickly, even if there are no cops around.
I love how in real life you just get a ticket or warning for a traffic offence but in this game you get arrested at gunpoint for speeding or running a red light.
I played Driver 2 and Driver 3 and the behavior of the police is very different in the chases, in the second game if you keep weaving the traffic the police cars will crash into them (this also goes for poles and trees) in the third game it doesn't matter if you are driving a fast car and manage to sew the traffic the police will deviate from it and will reach and hit the car that Tanner is driving, it is only possible to get rid of the police by shooting them.
@@gcdriverk Nah you have to drive as if you wanna trick actual police for example taking tight turns in enclosed areas gives you a few seconds to break line of sight, you can also trick them with a car chase staple driving in a circle before barrelling down a sharp turn
Very good video as usual, lots of work put into it! :D This game looks super fun, I like that you managed to get all languages transcribed. Great information as always, also love the dorky police behaviour memes you added xD keep up the good work ♥♥
Nicely done, loved it! Though, mind if I add some things I noticed back in the day, on Ps2? 1. Instanbul also has a police station, you start from there in the second mission. 2. Also, in story mode, the police use automatic weapons in their respective missions 3. According to the guide book, they have boats but it's only seen in the second mission of Istanbul 4. The guide book also says the Anarchy mode makes the traffic ignore traffic rules, pushing the police to the limit and that they wouldn't be there in fugitive mode. 5. The former, as Vermicellis are hostile, they chase even if Falcony is wiped. Interestingly, as seen in your video, the passenger is unarmed, despite being hostile. Also, the police officer in the station will still be there in Anarchy mode. 6. Might be limited to PS2, but I noticed back then, there were officers who never left their car, staying in it with sirens on when they arrived at investigations. Plus, while in their car, officers couldn't be killed, even if the car explodes, they still live, no matter how often you shoot at them. Also, the windows, as seen in your video, can't be shattered
I knew most of these but I didn't feel the need to put it in analysis especially since most police system can easily be played around in Take-a-ride mode considering the police is disabled for the most part in story mode somehow or don't make much appearance. In addition, scripted appearance with scripted weapons (ie. In Take-A-Ride they never use automatics but in some missions they do.) The passenger Vermicellis are bugged. They are permanently in an animation and never react. Yup, that point 6. bug is known but I listed far too many bugs about the police ai so I did not note it down. :) I like how you know a lot stuff about Driv3r! I hope the game will be remastered soon though.
@@Thekillergreece What can I say, It was one of my childhood games and I still remember it. The boats, I just had bought the guide once, showed me a few things I hadn't known otherwise, like in that gang mission in nice, how you can actually open the ramp of the truck, let alone pose as the driver. I hope so too, in fact, driver 2 was one of my first games, Driver 1, never came past that tutorial mission, like many others. That said, I hope you appreciate the detail I mentioned about driver 2 on your other video, and I am eager what the mafia 1 remake will bring in Police Al. I hope they will be similar to Mafia 2. Driv3r had negative reviews, but apart from the maps and the aesthetic which it reminds me of the PS1 Driver or Driver 2 but i still it's realistic and fun.

I believe the game is set in 2000, there is a theatre in little Havana just to the south west of the stadium and a sign that reads "0ct 23 2000" then some movie title
That's sounds about right because the plate was used for 3 years 2000 to 2003 before the two oranges and orange blossoms and saying www.myflorida.com. The only thing is off is the county name one they don't use Dade County anymore after 1997 (they use Miami-Dade County) and plus in that county they no longer have that as an option(the bottom of plate)
Awesome video there dude, I love it! This one is even better than the old one. Yeah, this is also one of the games that I used to play when I was a kid. This game is really fun especially when you just wanna drive around the city of Miami, Nice, Istanbul or mess around with the cops. The behavior of the cops in this game could be glitchy/funny at times LOL Also I like the way how you managed to add the captions for all the cops when they try to apprehend Tanner, now I finally know what the Nice & Istanbul cops were actually saying thanks to you. Anyway, keep up the good work bro !
You say the rubberbanding is cheating and AI is dumb, I say its super fun. I loved how relentless the Police are in this game, chases in Take A Ride were always great because of their mad desire to get you.
I have noticed two other weird quirks aout Driv3r cops in he PS2 version: In Miami, for sure (not certain about other cities), if you're in a boat while running from the cops, police cars can occasionally spawn on top of your boat, which will promptly fall in the water. The second (non-responding) police car can be made to noclip through the environment. This generally requires the Immunity cheat to be active, or they'll target you the moment you touch them. If a car that has noclipped through the ground hits a water layer that is normally undergoround, it will tactical nuke itself. The explosion is so strong, it can kill you even with the Invincibility cheat on. The trucks in 18-wheeler anarchy most likely use the same double-strength physics of the Getaway mode cops, as they can pull insane maneuvers, often just flying off into the distance. Driv3r may have been buggy, but in the best possible way
This game has potential for being an awesome game with realistic police ai. Like you literary get wanted for driving on the sidewalk i Haven't remember a Open-world game has that in their police ai. I wish and imagine this game wasn't rush to beat gta sa if it wasn't Driver 3 would have win so many game of the year rewards which make more people remember and more games from the franchise ;)
I never knew the Miami cops actually did pit manoeuvres! So cool! I think the always pitting when in reverse thing is just because they're chasing a target on the rear of the vehicle, and have to drive around your car to get to it.
I dunno what it is about this game but it kinda has a depressing feel to it. It's not the jank, it's just the way it looks and sounds. I dunno, I played this one when it first came out and haven't seen much of it since. I remember buying the first copy I got from PC World too, which I don't often remember things like that.
