Right of the bat: I LOVE that u changed up the allegedly best team that gets recommended everywhere. I picked a different bunch of people, too! And the team works just fine! Great video!
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Challenging ourselves to make it work with different characters is half the fun 😊 always happy to learn which teams others are playing with as well so feel free to share your favorites or which ones you thought were the most challenging!
Excellent, thank you. I will look forward to the next video. Please, please, please keep producing them. I always look for "Printed Components" as a breakthrough as it makes things much easier than crafting components. I will give this seed a go. Balloon optimization is also a top find. My dream team is Emelin, Ken, Larra and Vivien because they all have skills that remain very useful in the long game once construction and the most important research is complete. They all have no "Indifferent" as well which means they can be levelled beyond 6 (Except Vivian's inability to heal, but she more than makes up for it). Krista's fast research and Rakha's construction are nice early on, but the jobs get done by others at a slower pace and they both have traits that become less useful quite quickly once things are established. With 450+ hours of game time, I have to admit that I have become rather unadventurous with my start-up selection of people and always choose that team now. Rita is a great find, as @Wyatt Derp says, as she has nice even skills, no indifferent skills, and will fill in the missing farm items quickly if used as your adventurer. Jack as well is a great find that can be levelled in anything with no indifferent skills and a great jump on early defence. Great start, so looking forward for to your next video.
450 hours in game is about double my time (currently sitting on 217+), I appreciate you branching out and sharing the gameplay experience with me on my videos 😊 Its always fun to see new comments by you! I haven't really tried printing components so I'll definitely have to test it out now! 😊 I see Laara recommended a lot, I think I'll have to add her to my party for the Desertum playthrough next. Also I didn't know that about Rita!!! Thanks for the tip, I'll have to send her up in the balloon more often
With smokeleaf, it's weird. If you leave it undried, you can make tea but not pipes. Dried it's the opposite: you can make pipes but not tea. Many meat recipes can use either raw or dried meat, particularly the quick meals. So don't forget to turn on the "Retrieve" toggle on the drying rack so you can use the raw meat or undried smokeleaf before they are fully dried. There are two default settings I wish they'd change: Retrieve on the drying racks, and the raw food restriction on the survivors. I usually don't realize it until somebody gets sick.
I absolutely love this comment! Those are excellent points and I totally agree with you. I also forget until the meat or leather goes bad outside and figure out why no one brought it in, or like you mentioned when they get sick from raw foods.
Another great video Antonia always enjoy your content. I did have a few things I wanted to comment on just as information I have found in my playthroughs, 1:40 You refer to the A-Team setup but here is my suggestion for play through I would leave them in their places and change to Quin and Hann for the others. Quin loves to explore so he shortens the travel time and I find he gains happiness from it. Hann is a great selection to be an all-around handler and deliverer throughout the game and becomes a great backup for most other tasks overall. Vivien's Issue for me is her age I push Quin into crafting early on to build on that but I will try a run with Vivien. Oh and on the lightning thing yes they can and will be hit if left out there outside their shelter of any type during the game I know this by experience, unfortunately (reload). I too find the faster and more you build in defenses the nastier and more numerous the bug attacks become. Finally, you should put some stockpiles outside your shelters for things like stone and ore (later brick, concrete, and carbon) can be left outside with no degradation.
you're so right about the lightening, I don't think I've played through a single storm where someone wasn't struck while outside the safety of the shelter/lightening rods. I hadn't really considered age to be an issue in-game before unless it said something about decreased movement speed (thinking of Annette). So far Vivian is keeping up like a pro! 😊I'm also a fan of Quin; most of my gameplay prior to this one was with Quin, but I'm testing out Chad after seeing him recommended a few times online. Thank you for all the feedback, Looking forward to seeing what you think of the next video!
That’s awesome I’ll have to take advantage of that for her for sure! I’m addicted to this game lol so I feel comfortable with keeping up regular updates 😊
What a great video 👌 I’ve just started playing Stranded, and got some good tips and ideas watching a video from You for the first time. You must have the most pleasant voice all over UA-cam, keep singing and keep up the good work 🤩
As for defence you can make a rectangular fence (near where you want to make your house) . Make 1 or 2 fencedoors and then open up (so the bugs see a way to get to the survivors) on one of the long sides and make a fencelane (4 traps wide). Fill the lane with traps. Make sure you have enough room to expand your rectangle (for a platform with a roof and turretplatforms) and your fencelane which will need some flamethowers on the side. Think you should start a grainfield a melonfield and a cottonfield in spring. With some rain you can harvest those fields 2 times and that sets you up for winter and make pickled vegetables, antibiotics and clothes (also need some kind of leather for warm clothes). At higher levels flamethrowers and traps are your friends.
Nice video! I never thought to save and reload for the expeditions. I use nova, quin, laara, and emilin for my survivors, it's a pretty good combo imo. I'm currently playing on the laara seed as well. Looking forward to the rest of the play through, good luck!!!
I haven't used Laara very often, but the other three are definitely staples imo! I'll have to give Laara another go 😊Thanks for joining me on this gameplay and I am excited to see what you think of how the rest of the play through goes! 💕
I just bought the game a few days ago and have been playing a lot. It’s my first playthru and I have 7 survivors in year 2. Rita is the goat and I sent her every time, no save scum, and she only failed one expedition so far!
Thanks from the UK ive never been able to get the balloon by day 5 so thanks for showing me how. and as for a name how about New Haven or 2 ponds, tis nice to see you have many more subscribers here from the 3 you had last time.
I'm really glad this was a helpful video, and thank you for being an OG subscriber 😊 I was thinking about the 2 ponds idea, together it kind of looks like a boot print; maybe there's a way to use that somehow for naming our base. 🤔 Boot Sole Lake or something idk 🤷♀️
First fence should be the open version. If possible double layer it with two walls. The reason, you can shoot through it. The pole fence is tougher, but you can only shoot enemies that are further away. Or you make wings and strategically place bait (non-combatants or actual bait) where the enemies will go so they’re in line of sight of of your shooters.
I had not thought about trying what some may call save scumming to try to get survivors quicker, but it definitely works! I tried this during several playthroughs, and my experience has been that the results of an expedition will ONLY vary based on who you send and which day they head out. I would send the same survivor on a given expedition at different times of day, but the result was the same every time. I don't know if the day/time they FINISH the expedition makes a difference, I didn't to to that level of detail.
I noticed something similar, sometimes when I send them hourly, the same response seemed to repeat in a time block, so its almost worth skipping a few hours each time you save scum to avoid as much repetition as possible. 😊 I'm not sure about the day/time finish either, it was hard to tell if that was a factor or not when I did it.
I few suggestions that I do: Research grain late spring to early summer, then a farm immediately afterwards. Bed everyone in separate enclosed rooms. Build a table then chairs. Set a thirdly agenda, just in case they run out of their primary and secondary agenda; to prevent idling. Keep a very close eye on their negative moods as tips on what to build or acquire next. Late summer to early autumn: prioritize clothing & warm shelter elements. Cultivate a farming patch for any plant resource that is the most scarce.
Having a strategy is a huge part of this game and it’s really fun to learn other play strategies as well! Thank you for sharing your thoughts and play style, I appreciate it! 😊
I play on very hard/nyx, i also build a pen but make a 3 wide opening / corridor where i place traps. later i add 1 flamethrower in the pen at the end of the corridor. Probably not needed on medium. My team is ken/laara/sora/vivian for scav/farm/mine/cook
Your small fence fort is a good idea, I do it all the time (wood too) but, you have to have weapons to shoot over the wall! Ken was the only one with a ranged weapon. My first research is always a weapons.
What I have seen is you cannot attack something on the other side of a wall. Only way is to elevate the center part, make another out ring and be higher which allows better chances of shooting down on the enemy.
Very good video... I like to put myself at an immediate disadvantage by only using 2 or 3 characters.. my 2 favorite are Nova n Ember then Maki.. But my strategy is to actively hunt n kill the nests asap, however based on what seed you use mech cores my not be available.. In that scenario hunting nests is rather difficult but can be done w sniper railguns, if neither are available the best option is to get off the planet asap... My current playthrough I only have Laara and Nova and have been on planet just over 5yrs with currently only 1 active nest but it's so far away that I can't justify sending anyone to mine it out n kill it off so I'm leaving it for now... My base has 14 auto turrets covering almost every inch of ground so nothing that breaches my carbon walls lives very long...
It’s amazing how many different ways there are to play and so much fun to see what systems and strategies others come up with! Your method sounds very interesting and combat forward which is awesome!
Watched a few of your videos and know that you like water in your maps. Found a seed with a big lake and 4 or 5 smaller lakes near by, plus wreckage near by (9 or more near i think). Anyways, try it out and just see for yourself. I think your going to love it. Seed is " OFF-WORLD ". It does seem to matter which moons your start with tho. Have a good one and enjoy.

I think you're right about the fencing and I just learned the hard way lol! Also thank you for the suggestions, I have added the seed to the description 💕
@@dddweller Lots of space and resources available. Easy to protect with a great view, however it's seems all views are great in this game. It is also the first map I got 8 castaways on but it was a pretty long run before reaching that many.
