I was sick when I made this video so my voice may not sound like normal. Purisu Undastando. Also very sorry for the loud BGM. I didn't realize it was so loud. I got new headphones and it didn't seem so loud when I watched it twice before reuploading. Suffice to say, I'll have to get new headphones EDIT: For 5:02, this bit refers to the fact that people think idols having relationships/being raunchy with the same gender is fine, but for some reason doesn't apply to males. I literally just realized that it could be misunderstood, so sorry for the wording there.
Dang, I was about to coment that your voice sounds so much better and was wondering if you got a new mic or changed settings. Get well soon! (And your healthy voice is great too)
While Holostar are not as popular as Hololive counterpart or Nijisanji I think they are still have good standing among male vtubers With YAGOO help and they already found safe Holo's member to collab with, like Kobo I still believe they could have a good chance to bigger audience than before
"safe holo member." Brings up Kobo. Kobo's like the best sister of any Holostars. XD I love how it's been more or less "If the sisters of Hololive Pro wants to play or collab with us, we're fine with it."
Kobo is everyone's little sister, so of course she's the "safest". She's also ID, and ID fan base generally doesn't care, at least from what I could see.
but again, its just id thing as kobo being kobo along with id fans being id fans, those guys are cool af, not the jp or en fans stuff, or "fans" should i say, but the rest of ur point still stands up which is true
Because the hate has never materialized to a degree that a stream/clip viewer would notice. If you keep yourself to youtube, you won't see haters raiding the hololive subreddit, or the 4chan schizos breaking containment on twitter. There's never been a real controversy beyond a few complains during UPROAR debut because of the no overlap policy they implemented back then. It just didn't work.
You should find the clip of where Miyabi spoke out about the first days after debut. If I recall, he barely hit the triple digit for live watchers. He is heavily respected from everyone after he said how it was for the first days....
It probably doesn’t help their growth, but I do like the relatively smaller stream numbers of 500-1.5k viewers, it feels like my messages can actually be read and I’m actually part of the community. By comparison chat goes by so fast in the girls’ streams that it just becomes a general vibe instead of any individual messages. I dunno, I just feel like the boys’ streams give a more chill vibe which is what I need sometimes
Agree. Anything above 2k ccv and the chat starts becoming hard to read for a viewer, let alone the streamer. Besides, we shouldn't let the girls' numbers distract us from the fact that the boys' numbers are already good enough to make a living, which is all we need for an ideal viewing experience. I'm happy Yagoo is helping them, but I'm also happy with what they already have.
@@BlaZay Personally tho, even at 500 views, it's still good enough That is still a lot of people For comparison, on Twitch, top 1% percentile of streamers only have viewer counts of......20 Granted, that is from 2020, things might have changed but still Again, it's definitely different from youtube where it as a lot more significant traffic But still, pulling hundreds of views is still impressive, let alone thousands
It's a damn shame we're still seeing backlash everytime holostars collabed with hololive members. They were so fun to watch, I'll never forget how Magni made Kronii absolutely lose her shit at times.
magni and vesper was able to do it but given with the others, i doubt it. there was like collab with worm tournament and stuff like that highlight was with the craziness that goes on with magni and vesper. so even if they collabed i have little faith it's gonna be good
Ironically, Towa freely streams with Axel or RPR, and no one really minds it. Matsuri and Mel also don't really mind doing so. But mention this fact in any Hololive community, and they're going to hate you for it.
I went on a holostars hiatus after Vesper and Magni graduated. I've been watching some clips here and there. When Armis debuted I was pretty amazed how they consistently get amazing people. Now I'm ready to jump back in the ship.
I believe that at this point (or at least with Tempus VG), any applicants are aware that joining Holostars would be a challenge and an uphill battle until the end. Still, it's apparent with Armis' debut that they obviously believe it's worth the fight and I'll support them for that alone. Well, the boys are also incredibly talented and entertaining, so it's not a wasted love on my part either.
Agree. Armis boys seems to know the downside being a Star, but they still excited and even see their Stars senpais as admirable person. That alone, Jurard is currently my fave from Armis.
While the unfortunate majority of JP fans are massive gachikois that cannot stand seeing their female hololive girls collabing with the male holostars, I've seen several JP fans actively wishing that for example Jurard should collab with Pekora. I think it's getting better with time...
@@hanillustI think it is ridiculous for these companies to profit off parasocial relationships and then complain when the weirdos start demanding their parasocial relationships that don’t get fulfilled.
Always gonna be rooting for the Holostar boys. I was surprised at how devastated I felt when Vesper and Magni's graduations were announced, but that really does go to show how much I grew attached to StarsEN. And with each new wave, I've been seeing more and more positive attention to everyone. Tempuras stay together!
Wait they graduated- man I've been such out of the loop in terms of vtubers cause school and work kept me busy. I won't say I'm too surprised given the enviorment of vtubing especially if you're a corpo vtuber from a large company. I hope you and other fans were doing alright during the time. Sending my love to all you guys.
even after few months, their graduations brought bitter taste to me. At least there's new Armis that managed to make me moved on with Goldbullet and Ruze 😊
@@SpinningAround-sy9ri They graduated on their own terms and are doing very well on their old accounts. In Maglords case I think he just realized he was infinitely more successful as Lando (800k subs, more freedom, etc) and Vesper I think just realized that being stuck within the corporate lines wasn't for him and wanted to go back to having the freedom to do/say whatever he wanted. Neither one of them seemed all that into the singing and dancing part of the "idol" stuff either.
@@polygon2745They were an oldschool physical comedy shitposter and a "let me share my in-depth opinions on all of life" streamer who ended up in an environment not especially suited for either. Which is a shame because I think there's at least still room for the latter in Holopro.
The loss of Vesper hurt but, I was able to discover the BOYS. It's unfortunate that Holostars is the bastard child but, they are gems to those who do discover them. Support the BOYS.
It’s really sad seeing comments saying Magni and Vesper were the only ones who were kept holostars alive, don’t get me wrong they have great personalities and creative. But yagoo chose all of the boys for a reason and they deserve all the support. Just wish the internet didn’t hate the rest of the group.
It wasn't that they were specifically keeping stars alive. It was because they had the "hanging with the bro's" dynamic between the original Tempest, especially when they first debuted. Heck, that's why I liked them, it was something I was missing from the old days of let's play videos. With literally have of tempest gone, so to was that feeling, and the main draw of people who got into tempest. Every generation after that, vanguard and the newest one, just doesn't have the same feeling (though the newest one certainly is better than vanguard). But yes, Magni and Vesper had the biggest draws for being the most creative, gap moe, and willing to take a step forward and collab with the girls. The only one left that that can match their level of comedy is Bettel, and that guy's already going crazy... literally. Basically, the way the HQ bounced off each other was lightning in a bottle, and its something that would be incredibly hard to replicate again. When those two left, so too, was the group dynamic gone, and I hate to say this, but vanguard and the armis just don't have the same feel, and so, many viewers just stopped watching them (I'm one of them). I still occasionally watch Ragus and Axel when they do collabs or VCR stuff though.
Regis streams were full of panties throwin, boobies showing, full of "real female on internet". I am not even exaggerating , it was scary. LOL Vesper was my fav. Well, good thing need to end sometime or another.
I always watched the holostars as a whole. We have the "leader", the Granpa, the young one, and the meme Lord The lost of the two kinda left the team unbalanced. Like a symphony minus some instruments.
If it weren't for Holostars, I wouldn't be jumping into the VTuber Rabbit Hole in the first place. The energy, the jokes, their memes and vibes are very different in contrast to Hololive, and of course it's not everyone's preference. Still, unlike what most supporters of Holostars' downfall would argue, there are genuine fans that do follow and support the bois, more importantly for who they are, not because of possible collaboration with the girls. As long as I can see the guys strut their stuff, it doesn't matter if they're alone or in a collaboration. Besides... even if Holostars have a small fanbase and don't have high stream watchers compared to Hololive... it's not the be-all end-all. Tons of merchandise, sponsors, events, and con appearances have also been garnered by the boys too, and as for me, boy would I jump at the moment of getting merch from them!
as somone who regularly watches the EN boys i agree that the culture exclusive to the stars is real and very different and separate form the girls. Also i find it funny that if you are a Vtuber outside of hololive you have a better chance of getting a collab with the boys than the girls since the boy frequently collab with people outside of the company. i mean if you cant collab within, find people outside.
I used to think that it was only the JP people were angry and that the EN side were more accepting of Males. Boy was I wrong, I don't even know since I don't speak Japanese that if the JP side is more angry than the EN side since I see some members like Towa and Mel interact with some members.
@@jj4739I mean en has more wide range compared in one country but to me nothing beats the the chills i get when id bros started become toxic. the thought of someone vandalising Ollie's photo, and doxing some members within a day, terrifies me.
Honestly cool with the fact holostars doesnt attract those kinds of female idol fans even if it means theyre less popular. I feel like the holostars community is just super chill and at the same time really mentally strong, especially the ogs. Above all though the holostars themselves are so so kind and also incredibly tight knit. Theyre such bros.
Stars started off as a passion project, the real idol dream?! It takes great courage to put yourself out there as a man in this community, they deserve respect for that.
Yeah and it was great the community liked them and they had a big talent. Until that talent was fired for cheating on his pregnant wife with 2 hololive talents than it pretty much killed Holostars
As someone who likes Stars EN, I like how Yagoo promotes a Brotherhood culture with Stars. Compared to the boys at Niji EN, who kinda at a glance caters to parasocial female fans, Stars really feels like I've walked into the men's locker room with the bros after finishing our sets, or I'm in a sleepover watching hentai with the homies. Strong degenerate energy, but in the gremlin bro way.
Pretty funny how Niji and Holo ended up the opposite of the original plan with their EN boys. Hololive was supposed to cater to the opposite sex while Nijisanji was supposed to have the casual streamer entertainment.
That couldn't be further from reality lol outside of vox and that was like a year ago, no one does that. Most males don't act like that in NIjiEN. The fair majority at least. They have mostly female fanbase but their content and how they interact isn't even close 5o that
When you cater the same way stars do, you include the men too and with that they'll find a male vtuber they can relate to and find a favorite. With the males in niji feeling very catered to female fans, men do not feel like they have someone who they can relate to and the livers have to cater to that.
I will forever thank Yagoo and the Stars Support Team for their undying support of the bois despite the backlash. I was one of those who wasn't paying attention to the bois not because I'm a gachi of some sort, but because the idea of simping to a male felt "gay-ish" if that makes sense. I couldn't have been more wrong. I love the bois, Tempus and Armis. I think I can watch more Armis so far because of their very wide schedule. They often stream during an open time in my zone.
It’s not gay to support your brother-in-arms. Men doesn’t have to simp to another male. We all can just vibe together. Not that there’s anything wrong to simp for a male, when you’re a male yourself. Just saying.
At first, I the same feelings too, because my perception of a male VTuber is to appeal to the female audiences. However, Tempus brotherhood vibe changes that mentality for me. Now, I am interested in watching Holostars streams just as much as Hololive streams. I started with Hololive. My oshi is from Hololive. But I am down with the boys and I am so ready for any collabs that features them. They worked hard for the streams, so I view all of it as gems.
It is an understandable feeling to those who aren't familiar with it, especially since you have the layers of separation when it comes to streaming, then character, then anime. It becomes almost like a waifu/husbando oshi type of situation when it doesn't need to be at all. My oshi is Ookami Mio, not because she is a woman, but because I genuinely enjoy her voice, skills, talent, concerts, content, and so much more. I support her because she gives me that entertainment value. We typically don't view fleshtubers in the same light as vtubers because we see the human and the individual far more clearly and without many layers of separation. You gave the holostars a chance and saw the individual and found you really liked them, and opened your eyes to a wider or varied perspective. I feel if more people took that leap like you did, there wouldn't be the stigma of, "Ew they are guys, what are you, some kinda fag?" lol.
Huge props to all the ID girls like Kobo and Ollie that interact with Holostars so freely and naturally and the ID viewers that are perfectly fine with it
Id fans doesnt have strong gachikoi as japanese fans have, we love to see more girl collab with other boys because it has different dynamic compare to all boy or all girl collab, we treat all talent as professional entertainer not personal gf/bf 👍
Don’t forget that some girls from the EN and JP have managed to summon their courage for a collab. It’s fun to see their characters bounce off each other.
@@gurugurumawaru7869though it wasn't pleasant the major part. the bois stated how much it cuts them that staff are willing to cut their salaries for them.
@@akira8393 You’ve got a point, the managers deserve shoutouts too. Holostars managers had proudly stand with the boys since the very beginning. Their honor mustn’t go unsung. Glory to Holostars and the managers.
It really makes me sad to see the boys be treated so poorly. Tempus, especially Vanguard, clicked with me in a way no vtuber group had done before. Pre tempus, I think i watched a kronii clip or two every so often, but tempus hq got me watching their clips all the time and vg got me to actually show up to streams and watch full vods. Without tempus I would be nowhere near as interested in holopro as I am now.
What many people don't realize is HOLOSTARS Is the "SECOND" Most popular Male group beside Nijisanji, bcuz Niji have the strongest Male vtuber group in vtuber community. Hololive is the "MOST" Popular Female group, and Niji is the "Second" Most popular in vtuber community. Holostar is not a fail project, because usually the hater only compare them with Hololive (The MOST popular female group) and the male from Nijisanji (The MOST popular male group), ofcourse Holostar will look like a failure if you compare them like that.
I didn’t pay attention to holostars for a moment but I did like some of the members. When Rio Debuted…. IMMEDIATELY! I was hooked! Then EN came in. Now I got 3 boys I enjoy. And simp for
I will love the boys till the day I die. They're so entertaining and will one day be accepted and celebrated on the level that the girls are, but not until a significant shift in fan culture happens.
As an editing comment, the music when talking about how the talents were worried about fan backlash is a bit too loud. Anyways, all I can comment on is that Holostars has been getting better reception and support with each Gen group, so we should hope it continues on this path.
i must give a shout out to Ollie tho, she receive so much backlash when coordinating Collab tournament with holostars member, even from Jp Fans. so much so that just by reading all the hate comments, i think most people will just broken mentally. but she just do it anyways
And what happen to Ollie was a risk not any tallent willing to take Many people forget once you accepted to hololive your no longer compete with small indie vtuber, now your compete with fellow tallent of hololive. If there any advantage you can gain without interact with holostar, many tallent really considering that especially if your not JP tallent
Ollie is the sort of Holo fan unicorns have a unique hatred for (not making this up, you can look if you hate yourself): someone who just wants interesting things to happen because they'd be interesting, without any real considerations beyond that
I've always disliked the weird "Vesper and Magni were the only ones I cared about, now I don't bother with Stars after they left" mentality. Yes, those two were incredible content creators with fun personalities and amazing chemistry with various other talents, but saying they were the only two with great entertainment quality is dishearteningly dismissive and downright false, even when accounting for the subjectiveness of personal taste. The objective skill, potential, entertainment value, and accomplishments of the boys are ignored, even though they are lauded by Yagoo himself and recognized by Cover hiring them in the first place. Ves and Dez are unfairly put on a pedestal, and Stars antis are seemingly forced to praise only them because of how beloved HoloSALT was to the community at large, thinking that a Holostars talent is only worth it if they're either objectively or communally considered top tier. But let's be honest: not all of the Hololive girls are equally or objectively considered top tier entertainers either, and they don't get nearly as much flak for their _lack_ of being as entertaining/talented as Gura or Kobo or Pekora or Suisei -- not in the same way all the other Stars are put down or ignored for simply being _not_ Magni or Vesper. It's pathetic how there's so many people who apparently _like_ flaunting the fact they're a**holes, bigots, and overall terrible people who think it's awesome to have double standards and be mean-spirited for asinine, fallacy-ridden reasons. And the sentiment about rather watching someone like Asmon or xqc if they wanted to watch a male streamer is clear evidence of how shallow of a person they are, if that's all it takes to dismiss the Stars talents. Internet morons gonna internet. It's hard to change that, but it still sucks.
Honestly, I just never vibed with the other boys, that's all there is to it. Shinri is close, but he almost exclusively plays horror games, and that's just not for me. Vesper and Dez were a distinctly different flavour than the rest of the boys.
tbh, for me, if I really want to watch entertaining contents, I will go read books, watch movies, tv shows or well made youtube videos. I watch vtubers for that unique experience of seeing livers interact with chat or with other livers, and witnessing them grow and learn as human beings. In my opinion when it comes to streaming and being a streamer, I think all the boys in StarsEN are just as talented as Vesper and Magni.
Honestly as a person who got into them way after their graduation, it kinda makes me sad to see what I could of been missing out with them as I hear of them ocassionally or seeing them in past clips. Like how Ruze was inspired to make his first cover cause of Magni, which is cool as hell! But alas I was not there for them.
As a HOLOSTARS fan, I never think about how many ccv for each talent had for every live streaming, not even compare them to hololive (girl) members. Because, ....it's useless. The vtuber community is already "niche of the niche" from the big circle of Japanese modern culture. The circle for male vtubers is even smaller rather than female vtubers. Why people are arguing and comparing their numbers if they already have the different circle? Nonsense. But I admit that HOLOSTARS fan is knot-tight community, we support each others, and also the boys. Because we knew that they're enduring all of the horrible experiences for being insulted, just because they EXIST as male vtuber. It was true that TEMPUS boys did expand the market of HOLOSTARS generally, but STARS JP was not exposed too much back then. Idk if the cause was the language barrier, or culture barrier or anything else, or maybe management was too careful for handling them. New strategies must be presented if HOLOSTARS want to expand their market or viewers, maybe like encouraging talents to do more competitive gaming or smth. Because I noticed back then, some members could gain many viewers when they were playing game like APEX, Overwatch, CSGO, PUBG, Valorant, etc. I do have some hopes with HLZNTL tbh. Not by making them fight the girls talent, but something kinda STARSEN Vs STARSJP. Now after ARMIS joined STARSEN, the number of JP talent vs EN talent is nearly enough to make the event versus, or maybe another event that big enough to be called BIG COLLABS (SportFes but HOLOSTARS version maybe xD) Last, I wish all HOLOSTARS talents get anything they want and they deserved to become a part of HoloPro, because of some simple reasons: they are very talented and entertaining
That new strategies of joining competitive event is proven effective, yet not everyone is able to do it. Only Astel, as far as I know, can go far with it. Temma and Aruran right now is heavily involved in Street Fighter 6 community but the game itself doesn't really pull any good number. I don't see any potential in HLZNTL tbh unless they expand it to non-Holopro vtubers. Now for EN, I don't see any casual-yet-competitive scene the bois can join in (do cmiiw). Even Axel had to break through the language barrier to join VSaikyo and similar tournaments. Someone has to start the trend. We have to wait until we get ShibuyaHAL or Crazy Raccoon of EN.
@@kanzaki2672 I do think the boys CAN compete in events, but it is also up to the talents if they are willing to squeeze in their training amidst all their idol work.
a big versus event or tournament is a neat idea... but remember that not all of them is a pro gamer, Oga for example can't play any game that using first-person camera or fast-paced for a long time because of his extreme motion sickness(heck not only he can't even play Minecraft, he still got motion sickness only by watching Fubuki playing Horror game even though he is not the one playing) but in fighting game genre however he is one of the BEAST in HoloPro, so they have to pick a game that the other boys will/able to play and participate if they want to do the all StarJP VS all StarEN...
Kobo bring me to Regis Altare and rest of holostars. It was fun to watch their collab. And I like Holostars EN personalities overall. While Niji may have their unique deep sexy voices that caught me at first, but somehow I came back to Holostars comedian stream lol.. they're so unhinged and cute at same time
I came here after seeing a few tweet replies flaming Jurard for greeting Gura on her birthday. Some were even racist comments. It shows that up until this day, there are still people looking down on Holostars. Though I'm glad that Yagoo and Shinove were there to support Holostars from the very beginning.
I used to ignore stars but Axel & Hakka made me realize my mistakes. For anyone who loves talent & still doubting to check out on them bois, you are definitely missing out.
Hmm for real as someone how watch Holostar since almost 4years ago I already give up on give them justice because everyone who do not watch Holostar didn’t even care and I think just support them to the best is enough. And the community is really nice right now and I think that is enough no matter what I will just stay and support them because you know you can’t change how people accept holostar but if someone would like to check them out one of the thing that made them a lot difference from lots of vtuber I think it is how they stay strong together no matter what and how the jp and en boys always being polite almost all of the time especially jp big respect ❤
It's embarrassing to witness fans attacking one another. It's even more embarrassing when said fan wish ill to A-chan or even Yagoo, the origins of Hololive Production as a whole, for supporting Stars. Why would they rather hurt another fan, calling them r-word, than keep their own opinion? I mean for fuck sake. WW1 soldiers in 1914 have a better live-and let-live mentality. And when those soldiers whose life on the line has a much better discipline and restraint not to shoot one another in certain times than you, it's time to consider that you might be wrong.
Are the incels really making money, though? Maybe yes in superchat, because they wanted the attention. But the talents get the bulk of their budget through merchs, though. Are these incels really spending money on merchs? It seems that we’re just taking this notion as a foregone fact, without some strong evidence.
@@gurugurumawaru7869 Some? yes. Majority? Hell nah. I've seen incels frothing at every single post that mention Stars before shaming Yagoo and/or A-chan for supporting them but slink to their holes to kiss Holomem's boots. How stupid can you be to say you love Holomems but hate the person who makes the Holomems successful?
I know that this video is old but I recently discovered Holostars Tempus and I love each member for their own merits and reasons. Hakka is relatable for me as he is a fellow latin person. Altare and Axel were good friends of Selen and I love their dynamic. Altare is quite the soft boy with a hidden sussy side is cute and his desire to remain innocent and being a home gremlin are very relatable as well. Axel's youth shines through and I greatly appreciate how candid and genuine he is with everyone he talks to. He's also a great foil for Altare. Shinri is the gentle giant who feels like the mature, older brother of the group and his teakettle laugh is the cutest. Flayon is a chaotic little monkey, but deep down he is very caring and likes to make people laugh to help break the ice and is an amazing sport and super athletic. Bettel always makes me laugh and he has the perfect voice. He acts as an amazing counter to the chaotic Flayon and the two are very close, you can feel the brotherly love. I love all of the Tempus boys, they're all my oshi!! ❤❤
Thanks to ID girls, I have been introduced to holostars. And start following them regularly. From the start of ID gen 1's debut, they didn't limit their interactions with holostars, and even created great friendship. Starting with Iofi and Risu. Then continued by Ollie and Anya. And now Kobo and sometimes Zeta. I hope that the relationship between Hololive girls and Holostars will become stronger in the future. they have great talent and are also good streamers.
YAGOO just wants male idols that can become his bros and vibe with him, understandable xD Thank you Shinove-san, YAGOO! We all love Holostars, we can't be more grateful that they're quite successful nowadays. Love them since the start, I can't help but wonder what if they were successful from the start, maybe Suzaku, Kaoru, Kira might not graduate... Well they graduated for different reasons, but still can't help it
Stars and ID really seems to influence each other's growth direction imo. I remember when ID first started, they tried to appeal to the idol culture too, but after the forming of the Kira Kira Family, that idea was just scrapped without people noticing. Their vibe for me is totally different than JP or even EN and actually feel closer to the vibe Holostars generally gives. As for the Stars of course, they became far less awkward to talk about things they're really passionate about, even under other people judging them now. Before interacting with the ID girls, the guys were talking in a way like... they really tried to preserve the girls' image as well as their own. But with people like Erofi and Ollie and surprisingly, even Anya at some point, who can be such a simp/degen on streams sometimes, the boys feel more chill about talking in such a way too I feel ID is the bridge that connect other Holopro branches in general, and they have a close connection with all the other branches, but with Holostars, it feels like they vibe with the guys even more than the girls sometimes. Ollie seems to like the guys so much that she actually does seems pretty hopeful that one day, Stars ID can really be a thing too
Ollie just loves watching other vtubers in general, even paying attention to those with small fanbases. I do think she will indirectly play a big part in a possible ID branch for Holostars, which could be a starting point for more coed approaches as the ID girls are already cool with the boys. The sibling dynamics we've seen so far are gold!
I wonder what happened to Kronii and Mori. They welcomed the boys warmly when TEMPUS arrived but now they don't even try to interact with the new ARMIS boys
Mori is sort of on a break, only doing collabs for a bit and no solo content, and has been for a bit, so she hasn't really had a proper chance yet. As for Kronii I have no idea, it could be that they don't get along as well or that they simply haven't had the chance to. After all Mori and Kronii did most things with Vesper if I remember correctly, and not as much with the other Tempus members. So it could just be a private/personality thing as well. Since I doubt it has anything to do with backlash or wanting to keep to the idol culture.
OK let's not jump the gun here needlessly OK? 1. The Armis boys have been out for only a week with streams barely exceeding 1 hour. They're clearly under some limitations at the moment. 2. Historically new branches have been encouraged to do their own thing for the first few weeks/month, if not outright banned from collabs, in order for them to establish their own brands/audience. 3. Collabs need to be planned in advance because of each liver's schedules 4. People need to want to collab with each other and have good chemistry. Just because Calli and Kronii are open to collabing with Tempus or just males in general, doesn't mean they'll collab with anyone 'just because". They'll need time to know the new guys and see if they resonate. 5. Conversely, the boys must want to and feel comfortable collabing with the specific girls too. it's a two-way street. I can tell you if I was a Vtuber in Holostars, I wouldn't want to collab with certain girls, even if I was allowed. Even if we ignore the "monetary" impact due to gachis, there's still a matter of feeling comfortable talking to a particular person or having things to talk about. As much as I love watching Ina or Shien for instance , It would make for a trainwreck of a collab if It were to happen because there's not much overlap in our interests/presentation style. We'd have to sit down and talk at length in order to find a good topic or game to make it work. I'd have a better time talking to Anya or Miyabi most of the time, but then do THEY want to collab with me? Do THEY feel comfortable around me? so on and so on. TL:DR. Interpersonal relationships are complicated, especially in a work place. Just because you "can" interact with someone doesn't always mean you should, or that it would be good.
@@HyattHyatt3179nope she's not she's been doing constant streams still , hell her most recent stream is Super Mario RPG a non-collab game... I think they have a silent rule for this just like how niji has silent/secret suspensions..
Vesper was my favorite Holostar. His stories were way more relatable to an average guy working a crappy job. Now that he graduated I just watch Tempus clips. And also watch indie Vtuber, Randon, of course
Thougg i normally never cared about male VTubers, i do like Holostars a lot. Its not like i hated them, but rather i just nevrr cared, but Holostars feel like the boys, y'know. The small stream number is actually pretty comfy too, it just feels more "homely" like you are with your bros. I hope they grow a bit more with time, even if slowly but steadily they keep growing. It just feels chill
I love the holostars boys so damn much i hate how the hololive community thats interested in the idol bs treats them, i really hope hololive starts to lean more away from the idol rules and stuff i think it really stifles their talents and their creativity
As much as I would love that, I don't think Hololive will move away from its idol framework. Unfortunately, Hololive’s foundation is rooted in the idol industry, and it can’t easily escape or drop that image. When Hololive EN debuted, I thought it would be different from how Hololive JP is handled-and in some ways, it is. The talents in Hololive EN are generally less idol-like compared to those in Hololive JP, and I believe many of them wouldn’t mind collaborating with Holostars. However, given how Hololive began and that fandom it has cultivated, collaborations with Holostars could stir up drama and discord among fans. I miss the days when Magni and Vesper were around. From what I saw of Tempus, especially Vesper, Magni, and Axel, they really wanted to break down that barrier between Hololive and Holostars. But ultimately, Holostars can’t truly step out from behind Hololive’s shadow, and that separation keeps them from ever fully being a part of the same world. For a brief time, they did-and they showed us how well Hololive EN and Holostars EN could work together.
Probably because Vesper and Magni didn't really try to appeal to female fans as much as Axel and Altare did. They were more on the funny bro side, so sensitive fans didn't see them as big of a threat.
Ive been trying to pick up Spanish as a third language and Hakka has been an absolute treasure for it. He's heartwarming, he's talented, he's been my gateway to the boys. Plus he can actually cook!
This isn't a direct response to the content of this video, but I think it's something that is sort of overlooked when talking about growth for the boys: I'm seeing a lot of comments on here about how once Vesper and Magni left, they stopped watching any Holostars content, and I think that's a crime. There were thirteen other Holostars before them, and there are eight who came after, and y'all aren't even going to give any of them a chance? The EN fanbase is so bad at solidarity, and you see it constantly, and this doesn't help Holostars move into a place they honestly deserve to occupy in the vtuber/idol sphere. When Kagami Kira graduated, his fans didn't all avow Holostars, they moved to support the other boys who were just as devastated as they were (Astel and Izuru were hit really hard, as he was part of their chibistars unit, but all of Gen I took a blow that day), and I think that's a lesson the EN base needs to start learning. Altare and Axel must have been crushed to lose half of their genmates, Vanguard was noticably hurt (Bettel moved to be closer to Magni for collabs just for him to graduate, and Hakka still puts pngs of magmites and vespies on his streams), and even their JP senpai had kind words of support, but EN fans can't be bothered, I guess.
Tl;Dr: I think Vesper and Magni leaving was very selfish on their part I'm actually going to say this here and hope no one notices because I don't really like saying it, but when Vesper and Magni garduated, I didn't get mad at cover or anything, but I actually got a bit mad at vesper and magni, and it took me a while to lose that resentment towards them. Why? Because everything that happened prior to the graduation points to it being a sudden very sudden decision on their part to graduate, and they didn't talk about it to others until after they rejected their contracts. That's why everyone was so confused at the hiatus and nobody knew what was going on. Cover probably did the 1 month hiatus to try and make a new contract to keep them in, but they didn't agree to it. I believe the reason they left is due to how different working on a company is compared to streaming solo. It seemed like they were only interested in streaming mostly, but holostars also need to deal with music in some way, that's a lot of their brand. Not to mention that Vesper is so bad at dealing with social situations that he straight up had a panic attack after going to japan without his meds and stayed inside a hotel all the time there. And Magni had back problems, so he would always have problems performing on a stage. So, to me at least, they saw the cotract time approaching, talked together about it, and decided it was better to leave. Which is understandable, but is also very selfish, since you are throwing away a year of memories with fans and the boys, and you can't even have a graduation stream, because you rushed the decision. It made me lose a lot of respect for them, since they painted cover in a bad light, made a lot of projects they were doing become essentially nothing (like vesper's 2.0 and the new unit song with aruran and shien), and made a lot of new holostars fans leave, because a graduation will, especially a sudden one, will always leave people aprehensive when watching any other members of that group. At least, that's my opinion on what happened.
@@zector1958 I feel like this is how Mori and Kronii feels too when Vesper and Magni graduated. HoloSalt was hitting it off so well with the collabs and the amazing chemistry, even high viewers number of the collab streams are very telling that it's working but both Vesper and Magni decided to selfishly drop EVERYTHING in one go and let everyone involved down even after all that unicorn drama shitstorm Kronii went through to have the Vesper collabs done. Might explains why Mori and Kronii doesn't even want to interact with the new ARMIS boys anymore because Vesper and Magni let them down and would rather not give holostars another chance because it just doesn't seem worth it anymore
@@zector1958 man, I thought I was the only one to feel this.. I was really a fan of vesper. I enjoyed watching his streams and collabs very much. His sudden graduation really soured the mood for me on holostars but I also felt really bad for altare and axel because if I remember they were supposed to have a 1 year anniversary thing planned and to me it seems like magni and vesper didn't even tell altare and axel about their decisions....the anniversary was delayed and it just felt ..sad. If they really want out they could've at least stayed for 2 months more or at least just to finish the anniversary because a lot of time and effort was already put into it and all that was just wasted. All I'm really saying is if they were gonna leave at least finish all their remaining responsibilities/collabs/events first and not leave everyone else hanging, it was really such a dick move. I felt mad, sad and betrayed and I'm just a viewer, imagine what the rest of the tempus boys felt.
@@yukihira1363what most people believe is that they didn't renew their contract so thats why they didn't have any sort of goodbye like other graduations they are no longer a part of hololive. It is selfish, i do miss all the hq boys interactions but sometimes things just don't work, Vesper seemed a litrle frustrated with getting some ideas rejected and idk how he would do with the idol site of things, Magni have a injury in his back that make dancing a little painful and his alter account was as succesful or even more than Magni and he doesn't need to split earnings with a company. But something that makes me happy is that still interact with each other from time to time on their alt accounts the only one that is a hermit is Vesper lol
I still remember when I first learned of Holostars back in march of 2020 and saw a few clips of them, but it wasn't really until I think May (or maybe it was June, it's been so long the timeline has gotten a bit muddied in my mind) that I really started to learn more about them as I think something happened of note in Holostars, but I can't really recall what and there was a lot of talk about it at the time, or at least a lot for something Holostars related, I do know for certain one of the first Holostars I believe I became familiar with was Oga and I feel like it was due to the fact Fubuki would collab with him on occasion in those days, but I also recall the rise of the "Winning Son Roberu" meme and whether it was from that or the Oga-Fubuki collab I wound up investigating more and found that I liked the vibe and look of Aruran a lot, but given that Stars tended not to be clipped back in those days and the fact I can't understand Japanese I didn't really watch any his or the other stars of the time's streams save maybe a pop in once or twice on a stream of the 3 I mentioned prior and thus seldom kept up with the happenings of branch back in those times. With the arrival of Roberu NightMea and Tempus though I found myself coming across Holostars stuff more often and at their debuts I found myself liking Vesper the most , though Magni would also come to grow on me over the months, so when they suddenly disappeared at the end of this past June I began preparing myself for the only thing such a strangely timed disappearance could mean and 2 months later exactly what I had predicted very sadly had come to pass and they graduated and thus unfortunately I haven't really kept up with Tempus/stars EN much at all since I both didn't really click with any of the other members much and also sorta lost the avenue through which I heard about their goings on originally, but that said I do know a new gen just dropped for stars EN so perhaps in this new group I'll find someone I click with once more. Regardless of whether I watch the Stars much or not anymore, I do still wish for their success and also don't, and never did, mind them collabing with the Live girls either so if in the future should they choose to attempt doing so again I would be perfectly fine with it.
3:39 Do you feel strange about Indonesian people? I don't, because Indonesian fans respect more than EN and JP fans because they don't care about gachikoi or unicorns. Indonesian fans are even more eager when these two branches collab and everyone can laugh out loud, and even if there are gachikoi, unicorns or antis who try to attack, Indonesian fans will attack until they disappear.
Id Branch in all Companies are really good at collabing with other Branch like they're originally part of them. They are also the most enjoyable to watch in my opinion
Um, it kinda misconception if INDONESIAN dont have any holostar hater. They exist, together with other troll to hololive antis, mostly breed on facebook group and secret discord... But the difference is when most holo fans voice mostly drowned when antis gets upset and ravage the social media. Indonesian Hololive fans is also even more rabids when defending from Holostar and hololive antis. Its include doxxing and physical assault to doxxed antis. (Mostly targeted indonesian antis).
i don't follow stars JP but i absolutely love tempus and armis. it's nice to have male vtubers that acts as bros. watching them is like watching your fav gamer youtubers back in the day. love that they don't do fan service every five seconds (even tho they're idols lol!) and actually enjoys interacting chat. all of them are super entertaining also, and it's always fun when they collab with each other. i hope the best for holostars and always be supporting the boys!
Southeast Asian is more accepting of like male and female idols interacting and is just a norm, a regional pop culture difference, like in the Philippines we have Love teams, they are celebrities that ship together. I believe Jurard and Millie the concept of a loveteam the best.
magni and vesper is a great loss they could've carried holostars up... i mean i wasn't a fan at first then magni and vesper do their thing, and hell they are very entertaining, their projects hit hard, they pulled axel and regis up with their collabs and their collabs with hololive en sells well... then they left...
"Left" is the wrong word here. They faced a suspension for trying to force changes and cause problems. The fact he said on stream, "I'm raiding Kiara and I don't care who it pisses off," is enough justification for it.
@@ClockworkGearheadI highly doubt raiding Kiara was even a factor in this. Kiara openly welcomed the vespies and she’s also interacted with stars on Twitter before. I’m pretty sure when vesper was talking about pissing people off, he meant the fans who don’t like the male x female interactions
@@Z.A.D.D. It's a strict rule in Hololive that male talents do not approach or interact with female talents without their permission in advance. Holostars has already publicly stated this, proving you don't even watch them. It's absolutely a factor. That's why he said it. He meant he didn't care who in management he pisses off, which he was previously suspended for (causing issues with management).
I dont really watch Holostars anymore, but only because the two I watched graduated. To this day the best Holo collabs were the Magni/Vesper/Kronii/Cali ones, pure gold and its sad they are gone.
Loved and followed the JP stars since the first Oga+Fubiki demonfox got translated, that was instant love, a funny mature man being a goof in an adorable way. Wish we had more men of his style (and OG NijiJP males) among EN male vtubers than what we have. Maybe then it'd be received better than Generic Pick-On-Me Bottom Mc Lewd Male Vtuber number 395.
As far as I remember we only have flayon for that archetype, Regis is more of a smooth talker and a kusogaki, Axel is a motormouth but is a great singer, magni is magni, vesper is florida man, shinri weezing dad, hakka is a metal oriented singer but is also a troll, Bettel is a literal clown, Jurard is Loud (I mean realy loud) but knows whats his doing, GB is mother, Octavio is also cracked at singing, and Ruze is most likely a boomer
Ngl it was hard for me to try and get into holostars since there werent many clips of them from JP side. But ever since Tempus they have been poppin up more frequently and I started seeing funny clips and lives they do, eventually their collabs with the EN girls made me more interested in them as well, so on with Vanguard and ARMIS and now I really enjoy and love both sides of holo (stars/live). Just having that "bro feels" makes it so easy to relate on some of the other vibes they give off.
@@akira8393 sometimes it takes the right stream or clips to get hooked on. I used to dislike the girls too, but after seeing some clips of council it changes me. though I watch stars (mostly tempus) the most, watching clips or streams of the girls are also nice and definitely a lot of fun!
Niji kinda mixed the boys and girls together when they were debuting them, which is why the guys feel more natural and welcome there. Hololive debuted the guys after the girls, and with them being more idol like than Niji, the guys wouldn’t be so welcome and feel so natural in the company.
Nijisanji always been the best place to debut as a Male Vtuber, All of the top Male Vtuber comes from Nijisanji so doesn't matter if they mixed debuting.
Considering their JP senpais are at the same levels, I would say it’s expected. They weren’t gonna take off like Myth considering the Stars fan base was not as huge.
I think that's fine. There are UA-camrs who have more than a few million subs but get 30,000 or so views on videos and VODs. The HoloStars boys have a small but dedicated community. One example I can think of is Nagzz21. Smaller than the rest of the people he collabs with but has a dedicated and active fanbase.
Magni and vesper were the only 2 holostars that I actually make time to watch either vods or live and now theyre gone so I barely see holostars anymore sadge
Totally with you, I was panicked when they went on hiatus and devastated when they graduated (I have my own conspiracy theory about that). I'll occasionally marathon their clips and automatically fall back in love with the boys, because they're genuinely fantastic in their own right!
I wonder why it's the HoloID, the branch that was not volatile about "penis havers" Collabing. Remember when, ye ol' days, when people says "HoloEN won't be involved in IDOL Toxic traditions, no Generation on the debut, No senpai Kohai dynamic needed, we all are the same, no one above and no one below another" Type of copy pasta that was thrown as arguments when they compare HoloEN with other branch? Somehow they got even more toxic than even JP these days, what happened dawg? 😅 I even still remember kiara talk about something similar, about senpai kohai, idol culture, and whatnot back then 😂😂😂 And Why HoloID? 😂 They arguably, have even thiccer history about IDOL Culture, considering AKB48 sister group is there too. In my mind, that's even more of an anomaly than HoloEN turning EXACTLY into something they despise at the beginning 😂
because sea have a whole different level when it comes to it. i mean it like a different territory. because yes there is an understatement when it comes to the idol culture and id bros are pretty chill but from what ive seen in my experience when it comes to the toxic side, it can get really bad. the best way i can describe it is like they have a general understanding but can get very violent to which i meant way worse when they became toxic. it goes from doxing and even vandalizing. Which is why they took those crimes very seriously. it's honestly scary how some hololive vtubers took like a month or so. maybe a week at best. when it comes to sea vtubers, they can be tracked down in a day. leaking everything without breaking a sweat. I'm not sure they're impressive hackers or they are just that dedicated. either way it is legit terrifying to me
I guess it’s just Indonesian culture regarding celebrity/influencer/idol. We’re not necessarily care about their dating life (and friendship between female and male is a norm). Our problem is more on over shipping. We do get sad/jealous when our idol got married or dating someone but it’s mostly in a joking way and at the end of the day we support them. I think it’s also because holoID and holostar on the beginning are on the same boat, they’re very overlooked so both of them has interacted and helped each other so naturally the fanbase has been accustomed with the boys. Another possible reason is probably because there’s a lot of gamer-one of the boys type streamer (irl) in ID that if the stream is entertaining, nothing else matters
@@azraieruslim I don't think that's the reason. I'm not sure why we have little problem with this if we compare it to the EN or JP, though. I guess it's because the thought of being in any sort of intimate relationship with an oshi is too good to be true that barely anyone minds the interactions?
I thought ReGloss would be the "wall breakers" since they were very interactive with the guys back in their pre-debut days, but so far there has been no more interaction between them and Stars.
@@Halietus i was a fan of the regloss member (not hard one tho, ofc), but where is the lie wwwwwwwwwwwwww all female talents in holo is 80% a coward lol. But then again, regloss probably doesnt want to lose the fans, and dont wanna take a risk to interact with holostars because they are still "new" and building reputation, but I do think that is more good if they started it early.
@@kaigaikaranoidk, look at Mel for example, she is one of the oldest hololive members and she just started to collab with stars this year and it has been great, which is a surprise to me that she didn't get any major backlash considering how leans a little more than average on parasocial interactions and also what happen to her some time ago
@@dalgona4819 I think her being an underdog holo also helps, she usually doesn't get crazy numbers so there might be less gachis. The same goes for Matsuri, Sora, Azki

Holostars JP were my first intro to vtubing, but I think the Armis boys are so ENJOYABLE to watch 😊 I love their vibes and the banter. They feel pretty cohesive and I can genuinely sit through their VODs, which is crazy for me. I get that Vesper and Magni are beloved, but I'm glad they were before my time so I'm not stifled by nostalgia. These stars are still here and they deserve more than that

You guys are all talk, if you really support them let's push Armis together to reach 100k subscribers. The subs difference between Advent and Armis really shows a lot about this fandom
It's just the way it is. This is their cap. All the male vtuber fans, the real ones mostly female fans already went to Niji, especially for JP branch, now that's an astronomical gap.
ID fans 95% didn't care whether our oshiis collab with le bois. We've got Kira Kira Family(Yopi, Risdu, Oga, AruPapa), KobAlt(Kobob & Ragus), AsteLlie(Astel & Ollie), World Domi Duo(Abunda & Oga), CatDoge(Zeta & Axel), etc... They are so few in size that only selected few dare to showed up publicly unlike EN's with humongous size & 0 shame n fear...
i mean sea are something else. they can get really toxic when it happens which is why even if they are welcoming. i would not want to risk it. shit is legit terrifying to me
IDfans actively hunt for one horned gachis and nail them on a wall because they KNOW what would happen to let such culture fester. There were a bunch of them hard-simping for Moona, Iofi, and Risu and the rest of the fans saw the possible consequences, the unicorns were driven out of the ID community.
Damn. I didn't know that holostars suffer that much. Seriously, I'm a new fan to this vr idols community and the only group who catch my attention is armis. They really peak my interests and match my humor to them and I didn't even know they just a new group. Ngl they're literally a hidden gems. Proud armis enthusiasts
I'm still confused to this day why does Holostars feels like an outcast in Hololive while looking at Niji the boys are just striving and accepted by the fans
@@jshu-_- and that's exactly how the female fans view the male talents at Nijisanji, such as Vox Akuma. I firmly believe the Vtubers themselves are partially responsible for the culture they setup from the start and how they treat their fanbase throughout the years. People like Mikeneko and Vox rely on this parasocial relationship to maintain strong fanbases, but it comes with that cost. That's never been a problem with Vtubers that set the distance from the start, and even if it is, they just have to be clear and actually be strict and berate the "fans" that do it from the start, and not try to find ways to make it sound nice even though it's a serious thing.
in my opinion, the male model designs in nijisanji are just so much better than hololive ones on average, and to me Vesper and Desmond models just didn't look as good as Regis and Axel
If this were an anime story like most, male liv-ers are weaker thab their heroine counterparts... But that doesnt mean they are less heroic than them... Fighting the same cause with lower stats is still noble.
Just an addition: I know it shouldn't be but it always feels so much more impactful when Hololive and Holostars member collab eg the recent appearance of Matsuri and Calli in Rikkas anniversary. I'm always so hyped about it >\\\\
if you want to know, its because ID since gen1 is never despise holostars, they treat holostars same as their senpai in hololive, a co-worker, a friend, a bro, whatever u called it. They very casual with it, they tease, they banter each other like a NORMAL HUMAN to do since beginning, and the gen 2 and gen 3 following the tradition. The only one who never collab with holostars in ID is only Kaela, but she just casually interact with them in her birthday stream (through reacting video tho), once a while she reply or interact with them in twitter too. so the fanbase since early is welcoming them just like a regular talent from holopro. even me back then when trinero collab with area15, i know them for the first time, and since then I following holostars, even attached to them more than to hololive.
FYI: From 2:28, the BGM volume spiked, making it difficult to understand what you are saying. Although, I don't know if YT gave you the ability to swap videos in place though.
I wish holostars could collab with members of hololive without hate or backlash even if it’s just like the EN holostars collabing with the EN hololive girls every now and then as an example I think that’s another reason why I liked Vesper and Magni so much (don’t get me wrong I love everyone else in holostars too it’s just those two stood out to me) because it felt like they were doing that where it wasn’t all the time yet it wasn’t a once in a blue moon occurrence and ever since those two left it feels like there’s been a lot less of that which I’ve kinda been missing

This isn’t an issue with the boys or the girls it’s more of an issue I have with the more… let’s say protective fans of the girls who tend to ruin it with the hate, same goes with those protective fans of the boys because I guarantee there’ll be some within holostars too it’s just it’s a lot more prevalent in the fan base of the girls
I really wanted to dedicate myself to watching Bettel's streams so badly when I first heard news of HOLOSTARS, and then I just never had the time to catch up on a livestream TmT. Should probably put some vods in the back while I work on stuff so I can catch up.

I think part of it is smaller fanbase but starmin (stars fanbase) is very big on curating their community and they don't want to bring in too many people that won't be able to adapt to their community and mess things up. I think they're comfortable at the size they're at at this point

Even among the girls they barely collab with each other. And also the hololive gachi and collab beggar is no different. Im kinda mad how some people said the girls fan is toxic because dont want to collab with the boy but you begging the girls to collab with someone they dont know or want also toxic itself. I expected more than the "parasocial" angle to explain the strength of the female Hololive branch... it's a low hanging fruit argument. Because HOW does that same "parasocial" aspect NOT apply to the holostars brand of male idols?
...Because they don't cater to it? It's not something that magically happens yknow. They don't really attempt to woo a female audience in any way, no pet names, no lewdness, no intimacy, etc. Just compare them with Luxiem if you don't get it. Tho given what we've seen of him so far, Octavio may very well be the first to dabble in this type of content.
Because the talents in holostars don't really engage in fan service or BL bait, other than jokes here and there, and voice packs. There are definitely some parasocial holostars "fans" of course, but the vast majority of the real fans are generally just hyped and excited whenever the boys get some recognition or outside collab. Tempus is what got me into Holostars and I’ve adored them ever since HQ had their debut. Especially Magni and Vesper since they were the most relatable for me. I miss seeing them collab with the rest of Tempus, but I’m glad they are still doing well outside of Holo.
Stars was trying to explore the success of Nijisanji male vtubers, Hololive wasn't even marketed as idol when Stars debut, and Hololive wasn't the only female only agencies at the time. Sora does set the idol image but she was the less successful OG, and by no mean a "new" when everything is new, and have similar groups like HimeHina and RukiRoki. It is not exclusive to Hololive have such parasocial fans, Nijisanji Mikoto did spark some drama 2 years ago. Basic business principle, don't sell stick when people buy the oppai, regardless of how the agency vibe is. So it is normal for Stars to be extra careful not to cause problem for someone's business. I just don't think it make sense to keep talking about idol burden on Hololive members. Basically all female Vtubers have to consider that aspect, even they are against selling those aspect like Suisei. Base on how people react to Aki's mask pant in VCR Ark, Hololive does have an idol group image, but their member doesn't necessarily selling that. Stars JP have their own problems, first failing to established the idol aspect, then not quite comedian enough. If you look at other JP Vtubers in Nijisanji, or irl male streamer, Stars JP just looks flat on first glance. They needed Fubuki meme, Miko's memorable moments, and or activities that get people talking about them. Stars EN bro vibe is such a great take, and Stars EN3 certainly understand that. Hopefully the JP side will find their chance to showcase soon.
There’s one thing. Holostars initially didn’t have clippers. It had started to improve with the dawn of Tempus, but not having the community’s support is a major debuff. Especially during their early years. Here’s a reminder that even Hololive members didn’t start out strong. The clippers and the community’s major support is what allows them to take off the ground. For Holostars… they started from minus. There was even a joke that some Holostars were honorary Nijisanji or honorary (insert agency name here), as a sarcasm on how much negativity that were thrown to our boys.

Cover is legit sitting on a gold mine. Roberu is super popular outside of Hololive and always invited to do collabs with girls from other agencies, and a lot of people enjoy his show with Mea despite how little he advertises it. Winning Son deserves better.
Except that gold mine is directly occupied by Vox and his boys. Its gonna take a while for Cover to even consider risking intergrating Hololive and the Holostars
I love to watch the Hololive Girls, but the fanbase (especially JP but EN often enough too) is such a mess, 70% of them are parasocial loser. The "Male on Stream" clip from Shondo is just the reality at this point.
Tbh I think the "hanging out with the bros" vibes just doesn't work for vtubers. It seems like most straight guys would just rather watch a cute anime waifu or a regular male youtuber than an anime boy. Appealing to lonely women is also obviously lucrative, just like how appealing to lonely men is. At the end of the day sex sells.
When I started with Holostars, my favorite was Kira, and I remember that sometimes Iofi was on the chat and it was good times, but after Kira's graduation, I started to watch Holostars less and less. Today I watch Oga occasionally.
I was sick when I made this video so my voice may not sound like normal. Purisu Undastando. Also very sorry for the loud BGM. I didn't realize it was so loud. I got new headphones and it didn't seem so loud when I watched it twice before reuploading. Suffice to say, I'll have to get new headphones
EDIT: For 5:02, this bit refers to the fact that people think idols having relationships/being raunchy with the same gender is fine, but for some reason doesn't apply to males. I literally just realized that it could be misunderstood, so sorry for the wording there.

With YAGOO help and they already found safe Holo's member to collab with, like Kobo
I still believe they could have a good chance to bigger audience than before
"safe holo member."
Brings up Kobo.
Kobo's like the best sister of any Holostars. XD
I love how it's been more or less "If the sisters of Hololive Pro wants to play or collab with us, we're fine with it."
Kobo is everyone's little sister, so of course she's the "safest". She's also ID, and ID fan base generally doesn't care, at least from what I could see.
ID fans wasn't really "doesn't care" some even push the idea. For me it's good as long as they know the proper place and time to expressing the idea

Damn I didn't know people hated the Holostars. Those guys are the ones that pretty much introduced me to this whole VTuber thing.
Parasocial people are bad.
You should find the clip of where Miyabi spoke out about the first days after debut.
If I recall, he barely hit the triple digit for live watchers.
He is heavily respected from everyone after he said how it was for the first days....
@@TheRealVordox mad respect for Miyabi, if he gave up early amidst all the shit he went through, Holostars wouldn't grow the way it is now.
i mean i never knew too much about them but always loved the content i did see.
@@BlaZay Personally tho, even at 500 views, it's still good enough
That is still a lot of people
For comparison, on Twitch, top 1% percentile of streamers only have viewer counts of......20
Granted, that is from 2020, things might have changed but still
Again, it's definitely different from youtube where it as a lot more significant traffic
But still, pulling hundreds of views is still impressive, let alone thousands

It's a damn shame we're still seeing backlash everytime holostars collabed with hololive members. They were so fun to watch, I'll never forget how Magni made Kronii absolutely lose her shit at times.
Those collabs are absolute gold just for the sheer chemistry and fun they seemed to be having.
magni and vesper was able to do it but given with the others, i doubt it. there was like collab with worm tournament and stuff like that highlight was with the craziness that goes on with magni and vesper.
so even if they collabed i have little faith it's gonna be good
Ironically, Towa freely streams with Axel or RPR, and no one really minds it. Matsuri and Mel also don't really mind doing so. But mention this fact in any Hololive community, and they're going to hate you for it.
I feel like vesper is the one causing her to lose her shit more.

I went on a holostars hiatus after Vesper and Magni graduated. I've been watching some clips here and there. When Armis debuted I was pretty amazed how they consistently get amazing people. Now I'm ready to jump back in the ship.
Welcome back!🎉
Jurard being a chaotic menace is filling this magmite-shaped hole in my heart. Plus, he's a fellow Filipino so that's a bonus for me \o/
It's sad that so many others couldn't find it in themselves to come back even with Armis' debut.
It's not a fight. They just have a small market.
It's a fight to expand the market, so to say.
It's not the current Holo viewers that they need to attract.
Honestly it's depressing seeing them treated so horribly for existing

even after few months, their graduations brought bitter taste to me. At least there's new Armis that managed to make me moved on with Goldbullet and Ruze 😊
@@SpinningAround-sy9ri They graduated on their own terms and are doing very well on their old accounts. STARS need to stop shoving more members when its not worth it
The loss of Vesper hurt but, I was able to discover the BOYS.
Armis just debuted like a few weeks ago. You're drawing conclusions way too early, brother.
Regis streams were full of panties throwin, boobies showing, full of "real female on internet".
I am not even exaggerating , it was scary. LOL
Vesper was my fav. Well, good thing need to end sometime or another.
@@darkevilazn Vesper's graduation completely obliterated me and any will I had to watch holostars content

Yagoo knows how to run things well. despite the lack of acceptance in the community compared to the girls. he's still manage to come by really well
Watching hentai with the homies 💀
Just saying.
so youre gay now?
@@gurugurumawaru7869for me it probably got something to do with gender attraction not something to do with simping or anything like that
At first, I the same feelings too, because my perception of a male VTuber is to appeal to the female audiences.

100 % agreed.
Gotta push this comment up, perfectly said
Honestly, I just never vibed with the other boys, that's all there is to it.
Now after ARMIS joined STARSEN, the number of JP talent vs EN talent is nearly enough to make the event versus, or maybe another event that big enough to be called BIG COLLABS (SportFes but HOLOSTARS version maybe xD)
Last, I wish all HOLOSTARS talents get anything they want and they deserved to become a part of HoloPro, because of some simple reasons: they are very talented and entertaining

We should just accept that Stars is still a group produced by Yagoo if not the whole Cover corp.
Hololive and holostars collabs are what im always looking forward to and its been fun seeing them collab everytime

Thanks to ID girls,
I have been introduced to holostars.
YAGOO just wants male idols that can become his bros and vibe with him, understandable xD
Thank you Shinove-san, YAGOO!

But with people like Erofi and Ollie and surprisingly, even Anya at some point, who can be such a simp/degen on streams sometimes, the boys feel more chill about talking in such a way too
I feel ID is the bridge that connect other Holopro branches in general, and they have a close connection with all the other branches, but with Holostars, it feels like they vibe with the guys even more than the girls sometimes.
Bless Kaoru for kicking that door down.
@@TheRealVordox and iofi,

I wonder what happened to Kronii and Mori. They welcomed the boys warmly when TEMPUS arrived but now they don't even try to interact with the new ARMIS boys
This....bugs me out. Especially Calli don't even follow Armis members when I last checked it out. (If she followed them as for now, pls tell me lmao)
3. Collabs need to be planned in advance because of each liver's schedules
@@darksunDSthat's not what the non gachis and unicorns like to say😂

Thougg i normally never cared about male VTubers, i do like Holostars a lot. Its not like i hated them, but rather i just nevrr cared, but Holostars feel like the boys, y'know.
The small stream number is actually pretty comfy too, it just feels more "homely" like you are with your bros. I hope they grow a bit more with time, even if slowly but steadily they keep growing.
It just feels chill
"I come to see entertainment, if they're entertain me then it enough."
For a brief time, they did-and they showed us how well Hololive EN and Holostars EN could work together.
this sucks because the vesper x anyone collabs were always great.
Vesper x Kronii x Mori x Magni? LEGENDARY

This isn't a direct response to the content of this video, but I think it's something that is sort of overlooked when talking about growth for the boys:
I'm seeing a lot of comments on here about how once Vesper and Magni left, they stopped watching any Holostars content, and I think that's a crime.
I know the reason why Bettel moved in with Mangi if you follow their other accounts
Tl;Dr: I think Vesper and Magni leaving was very selfish on their part
I'm actually going to say this here and hope no one notices because I don't really like saying it, but when Vesper and Magni garduated, I didn't get mad at cover or anything, but I actually got a bit mad at vesper and magni, and it took me a while to lose that resentment towards them.

And Why HoloID? 😂
They arguably, have even thiccer history about IDOL Culture, considering AKB48 sister group is there too. In my mind, that's even more of an anomaly than HoloEN turning EXACTLY into something they despise at the beginning 😂
Also, they are the fanbase that Requesting to had StarsID since ages ago it seems. And they still don't have one yet 😂
Probably because there is no Holostars ID. ID bros felt that those EN and JP male members would not develop anything with their ID oshis.
because sea have a whole different level when it comes to it. i mean it like a different territory. because yes there is an understatement when it comes to the idol culture and id bros are pretty chill but from what ive seen in my experience when it comes to the toxic side, it can get really bad. the best way i can describe it is like they have a general understanding but can get very violent to which i meant way worse when they became toxic. it goes from doxing and even vandalizing.

Yes, on le Hidden ID Side we also got the Unicorns, the Haters, & even worse the one who claims that they know whose behind the talents despite most are seriously absurd & weird because the proof is waaay too farfetched... They are so few in size that only selected few dare to showed up publicly unlike EN's with humongous size & 0 shame n fear...
As an ID, I'm just glad our fandom is not that insane. We just happy that our Oshi is happy
yeah ID fans who came out to be toxic gachikoi are brutally destroyed not only by the other fans but also by their oshi
Lol
i mean sea are something else. they can get really toxic when it happens which is why even if they are welcoming. i would not want to risk it. shit is legit terrifying to me
IDfans actively hunt for one horned gachis and nail them on a wall because they KNOW what would happen to let such culture fester.
The most damaging part between the girls and the boys isn't really them but the fanbase of the two duking it out at each other every so often.
tl;dr
Yagoo: "just trust the process bro"
I'm still confused to this day why does Holostars feels like an outcast in Hololive while looking at Niji the boys are just striving and accepted by the fans
Simple.
Idol culture.
I think you meant Thriving instead of Striving
I wonder if the separation between Holo's male and female groups is a contributor to that problem
in my opinion, the male model designs in nijisanji are just so much better than hololive ones on average, and to me Vesper and Desmond models just didn't look as good as Regis and Axel
I feel like that is also why there is a tension between vesper + magni and hololive
The sad truth is that ever since Vesper and Magni graduated, I've stopped watching Holostars. I still watch male indies though.
yeah me too because i only watch gramps and his collabs is always 100% must watch
i'm still healing from those 2 graduations...
Completely same for me as well.
Literally not a single holostar had a proper graduation
Same
If this were an anime story like most, male liv-ers are weaker thab their heroine counterparts...
I'm always so hyped about it >\\\\
And MelOga.
The banter is real.
I've always been curious why ID has always been so much chiller/not schizo/parasocial over male collabs than JP or EN
Thats because Indonesians and some English members don't care about mixed collaborations, but they support the boys
They don't have holostars ID yet😂
Simple
There are either was to big to fail or to small to lose anything

if you want to know, its because ID since gen1 is never despise holostars, they treat holostars same as their senpai in hololive, a co-worker, a friend, a bro, whatever u called it.
They very casual with it, they tease, they banter each other like a NORMAL HUMAN to do since beginning, and the gen 2 and gen 3 following the tradition.
The only one who never collab with holostars in ID is only Kaela,
but she just casually interact with them in her birthday stream (through reacting video tho), once a while she reply or interact with them in twitter too.
so the fanbase since early is welcoming them just like a regular talent from holopro.
even me back then when trinero collab with area15, i know them for the first time, and since then I following holostars, even attached to them more than to hololive.
FYI: From 2:28, the BGM volume spiked, making it difficult to understand what you are saying. Although, I don't know if YT gave you the ability to swap videos in place though.
Honestly what caused me to shy away from holostars was the loss of Magni and Vesper. Those two were my favorite.
Yeah, a lot of people left when magni and vesper left. They abandoned ship. No longer sailing the same boat😂
I wish holostars could collab with members of hololive without hate or backlash even if it’s just like the EN holostars collabing with the EN hololive girls every now and then as an example
I think that’s another reason why I liked Vesper and Magni so much (don’t get me wrong I love everyone else in holostars too it’s just those two stood out to me) because it felt like they were doing that where it wasn’t all the time yet it wasn’t a once in a blue moon occurrence and ever since those two left it feels like there’s been a lot less of that which I’ve kinda been missing
I agree with you. Vesper and Magni were brave enough to collab with the girls more, and their interactions are just gold ; ;
yes, I hope there are members who can destroy the barrier between hololive and holostars
Well at least Ollie trying, and look how that become
@@anshorikhoiril3387 I know Ollie was trying, I loved her collabs with the boys Ollie is a really caring and friendly person so I wasn’t surprised to see her collab with the boy, if anything I was excited to the moon when it happened
Wait what do you mean look how that become?
This isn’t an issue with the boys or the girls it’s more of an issue I have with the more… let’s say protective fans of the girls who tend to ruin it with the hate, same goes with those protective fans of the boys because I guarantee there’ll be some within holostars too it’s just it’s a lot more prevalent in the fan base of the girls
@@harlster3373 i know it sound schizo
But Ollie after her tournament really 2 became bit of scared to even collab with JP member, because backlash
I think it’s also unfortunate that holostars EN debuted way after a lot of people lost interest in vtubers as a whole
I think this year has the highest graduated number in vtuber history. It's took awhile to come back enjoying them again.
@@junnyannyan1816 it definitely feels like someone is graduating every month lol
I really wanted to dedicate myself to watching Bettel's streams so badly when I first heard news of HOLOSTARS, and then I just never had the time to catch up on a livestream TmT. Should probably put some vods in the back while I work on stuff so I can catch up.
holostars isnt just EN, why do people neglect JP when they talk abt holostars
Because 90% of overseas HoloPro fans can't understand Japanese and only rely on clippers or live translators to take their daily dose of Oshis content.
With how popular Hololive became, most of the newer fans gravitated towards HoloEN instead of JP.
@@apointingsoyjak2302 understandable but idk if its just a non western thing for me but its always good to appreciate the original culture and why holo en exists now.. plus there are some english sub clips and even get to know videos about the jp boys enough to atleast know them and some facts.. theres enough videos for them to be talked about and not neglected
I do feel like people talk about Holostars EN the most when talking about Holostars. Meanwhile there is Holostars JP who's come out first
@@tadanarilee6003 The funny part is, even Holostars EN viewers are treating as if EN is the only Holostars branch around when there's a whole another JP branch, with as many people with entertaining personality.
But then again, those people can't understand Japanese, so they only talk about how after Vesper and Magni left, that left a scar on Holostars - when in reality, JP is pretty much unaffected.
I don't mind holostars i just wish more clippers and translatora would exist for them. Hope the larger hololive community will come around to holostars.
I think part of it is smaller fanbase but starmin (stars fanbase) is very big on curating their community and they don't want to bring in too many people that won't be able to adapt to their community and mess things up. I think they're comfortable at the size they're at at this point
I found Holo about 4 months or so after Sana's graduation. Outside of a few collab clips I've never watched any of the guys. Not because I have anything against them, but because... I have no time to watch. Shit. I don't have time to watch the ones I *want* to keep up with.
music got loud as fuck around 2:20 for no reason
Theres a reason Hololive is the #1 Vtuber agency. Sure maybe Ninji makes more cause they only give their talents 2% but Hololive gets big collabs with Honeyworks and Universal Music
and because of china
@@zen4900china market is HUGE
But very risky, it's a shame incident happened
Please don't for get Niji also make music too, there are few Niji members who are under labels like Universal Music, Sony,... So Hololive isn't the only one.

I just want to point that some of you want the girls to change but be serious, the girls themselves dont want to interact with the boys and yes part afraid of the fans angry but also they just dont socially interact. Even among the girls they barely collab with each other.
And also the hololive gachi and collab beggar is no different. Im kinda mad how some people said the girls fan is toxic because dont want to collab with the boy but you begging the girls to collab with someone they dont know or want also toxic itself. Just let them do their own thing.
Then why y'all getting mad when they do collab with the boys by their own volition? Why are hololive fans angry when kronii said she wants to collab with anyone that she wants??? Explain please??? How are you guys so sure that they don't want to collab in the first place? So many questions needed to be asked bro, but I'm only giving you a few. We are humans who are meant to interact with each other, whether it be male or female it doesn't matter.
And no one ever said "the girls needs to change". It's the fans we want to change, bunch of parasocial losers
Just like you said, let them do their own thing, so whenever they collab with someone, don't hate cause it was *THEIR* decision.
@@lawffy2612 Bullshit. You see people commenting on Kanata, Kiara, IRyS and others constantly. Even see people complaining about how Calli hasn't collabed with any of them since Vesper and Magni. You're full of it.
@@lawffy2612 Why are you assuming that he hates the holostars? I'm pretty sure he just hates collab beggars because they are genuinely annoying, similar to how people who bash the boys for just existing are annoying. See Kanata backlash for not wanting to collab with guys out of her own volition.
I suppose the fanbase share some sort of an underdog mentality, just like how holostars has been for the longest time.
@@UltraZulwarn ^ Exactly. Some of us just wanna watch the lads doing hee hee haa haa things and joke around.
I'd say
a) Holostars don't cater as much
b) There aren't as many lonely women as there are lonely men on the internet.
@@JohnDoe-pc3uk B.) there aren't as many lonely women as there are lonely men on the internet
The kindred, and Kuzuha's fanbase would like a word with you
Tempus is what got me into Holostars and I’ve adored them ever since HQ had their debut. Especially Magni and Vesper since they were the most relatable for me. I miss seeing them collab with the rest of Tempus, but I’m glad they are still doing well outside of Holo.
idc what doubters say, holostars are a growing potential, it WILL happen and they will make it BIG
There was even a joke that some Holostars were honorary Nijisanji or honorary (insert agency name here), as a sarcasm on how much negativity that were thrown to our boys.
yeah tbh i feel like this channel likes to beat the same dead horse without actually thinking beyond the surface level thoughts. like they should ask the community and not just research using 4chan/twt
i mean in star jp there is roberu who is very entertraining
they are part of Hololive and a separate group. I honestly want them to do their best.
I’ve always accepted that they are part of Hololive. I was happy that Yagoo didn’t give up on them
Im glad im mainly watch ID branch they collab with Stars no worries, Kobo even brought whole gen into her 3D showcase, the ID are the wall breaker that connect holo as whole
I think after the Kaoru stuff they are cautious with their bigger stars which sucks
Awesome analysis as usual man! Keep up the goood work
I love to watch the Hololive Girls, but the fanbase (especially JP but EN often enough too) is such a mess, 70% of them are parasocial loser.
