For one thing, Dan lives in Brazil. He actually has applied for a visa to be able to visit the U.S.A., but it has a two-year waiting period, and that time is not yet up. For another thing, though Dan says that he loves singing FOR people, and he does like the boost that being in a crowd of enthusiastic listeners gives him, that's not really "his thing." He likes being able to plan out exactly what he's going to sing and record, and likes being able to do it on his own timing, without having to be subject to someone else's performance times, etc. He's not averse to doing concerts...he just doesn't want to be "tied up" by them.

Then he posted "Nessun Dorma" on 03/22/2018. Both songs are quite full of emotion, in and of themselves, BUT...they both were songs that his father loved, and that Dan loved listening to and singing with him. Thanks for your appreciative reaction. This is a beautiful and passionate performance, as usual with Dan. He never calls anything in, does he? Another look at classical Dan is the duet Time To Say Goodbye. He uses his classical technique in many other songs too, as in the quiet, extremely beautiful ballad The Last Goodbye. It was written for one of the Hobbit movies by Billy Boyd. Dan sings it in Billy’s key (which he usually does, even with songs sung by women), and elevates an already lovely song into a gem of unshowy but gorgeous singing. Highly recommended!
I may be biased as I love Dan Vasc but I prefer this over the late, great Pavarotti (please no hate, just my feelings). If you watch closely at the end you can see him tearing up because this was his late Father’s favorite Aria and he sadly wasn’t able to witness this powerful performance. Hail VascNation ❤ #DanVasc

I'm not a huge opera fan but this one is beyond classic. I had all the faith that Dan would simply kill this and well....hot damn!! I this is the first time Ive seen the English translation for the lyrics. Paul Potts did an amazing version as well. Not to mention make those judges catch files with their mouths.😅

There are quite a few OTHER ones "out there" on the channels of other artists with whom Dan has collaborated (such as Alina Lesnik, Violet Orlandi, and Dragica). Plus he collaborated with Orion's Reign for quite some time, and there are some pretty great videos out there, still held by them. One of them is "Thunderstruck," which LARGELY features Dan, and it's really fantastic. Another wonderful song (an original: music written by Ricardo Confessori and lyrics written by Dan) called "Where the Eagles Fly," can be found only on the Ricardo Confessori channel.

There’s a recently released duet by Dan Vasc and Minniva that you may be interested in reacting to. It’s on “Minniva Official” channel. Beauty and the Beast. They don’t “metalize” it but it’s a beautiful tribute, and my favourite version ever of the song.
It is really tremendous, though some may think it's too simplistic. The thing is, the two of them portray MUCH more of the original story, in which the "beast" is very tentative when it comes to trying to relate to the "beauty," because he has seen himself AS the beast for so long, and he thinks nobody could love him. Dan plays out that character VERY well, and Minniva plays the part of his encourager, just as well. It's really fantastic. I love the Dan Vasc/Alina Lesnik version very much, as well, but it's not as true to the original story.
This performance never fails to hit me right into the heart, simply epic!! I think 'Son of pain' is from around the same time and it is so full of emotion, maybe your next reaction?
For pure badass performance in Broadway style, I recommend you check out - Gethsemane from Jesus Christ Superstar. (He blows Ted Neely right out the water) - The Music of the Night from The Phantom of the Opera.
The English subtitles take a bit away from the beautiful Italian haha. I’ve never known what Nessun Dorma was really about and I now realise I’m okay with that 😂 Dan gives major chills from this!!

It's not all of Home Free, and it's not done under their "label." It's just Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown doing a private "appearance" video. I've heard Austin sing a TON of other operatic songs that do NOT have to have rolled Rs, and he does a WONDERFUL job with them -- particularly with his version of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables (wonderfully great). Rob was TOTALLY opera-trained before he was asked to join Home Free. He did a fairly good job with the Rs, but still not the way they should be, for Italian singing. Once you've heard Dan do the Rs ABSOLUTELY stupendously, Robs & Austin's version "Nessun Dorma kind of gets wiped off the grid.
Pavarotti's version, in my own opinion, is flat, boring, and overrated, as is Pavarotti himself. I can't even get all the way through it, and I've tried, multiple times. Nothing against those who do like him, though. By all means, you just keep on enjoying him. I'll be sticking with Dan, though.

It's fine with me if he's your favorite. You may like whomever you please." It pleases ME to LOVE to hear Dan sing "Nessun Dorma" and OTHER operatic songs FOR WHICH HE HAS BEEN THOROUGHLY TRAINED! Also, SOME screaming might get passed across the table as singing, and that's OK, if it's appropriate. Dan does NOT scream inappropriately. In fact, he rarely SCREAMS, at all. When he hits and HOLDS the high, ending notes on some of the metal stuff he covers, it is totally MELODIC and gorgeous. I have not heard a single GRATING, badly-toned-harmonic scream coming out of Dan's body, and I have listened to EVERYTHING in his catalog about six times (at the least). I also love his very melodic and sustained GROWLS, which he does very appropriately and perfectly. When Dan sings operatically, everything he sings is perfectly-tuned, and perfectly suited to whichever song he is singing, with not only the CORRECT emotions and energy portrayed, but the perfectly-STUDIED and PRESENTED emotions and energy portrayed. Dan doesn't just SING songs, he LIVES them--particularly those with much emotion to be portrayed (in whichever way is entirely appropriate for the TYPE of emotion).

There’s a recently released duet by Dan Vasc and Minniva that you may be interested in reacting to. It’s on “Minniva Official” channel. Beauty and the Beast. They don’t “metalize” it but it’s a beautiful tribute, and my favourite version ever of the song.
It is really tremendous, though some may think it's too simplistic. The thing is, the two of them portray MUCH more of the original story, in which the "beast" is very tentative when it comes to trying to relate to the "beauty," because he has seen himself AS the beast for so long, and he thinks nobody could love him. Dan plays out that character VERY well, and Minniva plays the part of his encourager, just as well. It's really fantastic. I love the Dan Vasc/Alina Lesnik version very much, as well, but it's not as true to the original story.

This performance never fails to hit me right into the heart, simply epic!! I think 'Son of pain' is from around the same time and it is so full of emotion, maybe your next reaction?

At the time I'm writing this (03/30/2024 at 9:00 AM CDT) there are 183 replies to that pinned comment, with people actually answering those two questions. Then you can scroll all day and night long and NEVER get through all the REST of the comments. That's a pretty strong comment about our love for Dan and his music, in and of itself.

It's not all of Home Free, and it's not done under their "label." It's just Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown doing a private "appearance" video.
It's OK, but I have a hard time with it, because Austin has problems rolling his Rs. I've heard Austin sing a TON of other operatic songs that do NOT have to have rolled Rs, and he does a WONDERFUL job with them -- particularly with his version of "Bring Him Home" from Les Miserables (wonderfully great). Rob was TOTALLY opera-trained before he was asked to join Home Free. He did a fairly good job with the Rs, but still not the way they should be, for Italian singing.
Once you've heard Dan do the Rs ABSOLUTELY stupendously, Robs & Austin's version "Nessun Dorma kind of gets wiped off the grid.
I see you do a lot of Country Music reactions.
Maybe check out Drake Milligan with "Sounds like something I'd do" from AGT.
Metal and opera were not genre’s that were played in the home I grew up in, so never a big fan….Mr Dan Vasc is chipping away at that daily!! 🤟🏼❤️

Hmmm. He has a good voice, very nice phrasing and emotion but I can never hear anyone sing this without thinking its a shadow of Pavarotti.
Pavarotti's version, in my own opinion, is flat, boring, and overrated, as is Pavarotti himself. I can't even get all the way through it, and I've tried, multiple times. Nothing against those who do like him, though. By all means, you just keep on enjoying him. I'll be sticking with Dan, though.
@@josiahrobinson6135 There's been a general dumbing down about all things cultural. Screaming passes for singing. I'm not saying Dan necessarily fits into that. Its a shame when people can't appreciate classical music, though.

I do NOT love (and HAVE not EVER loved), Pavarotti's voice. What @josiahrobinson6135 has said, I also say: "Pavarotti is simply not the greatest thing ever, to me personally. It's fine with me if he's your favorite. You may like whomever you please." It pleases ME to LOVE to hear Dan sing "Nessun Dorma" and OTHER operatic songs FOR WHICH HE HAS BEEN THOROUGHLY TRAINED!
Also, SOME screaming might get passed across the table as singing, and that's OK, if it's appropriate. Dan does NOT scream inappropriately. In fact, he rarely SCREAMS, at all. When he hits and HOLDS the high, ending notes on some of the metal stuff he covers, it is totally MELODIC and gorgeous. I have not heard a single GRATING, badly-toned-harmonic scream coming out of Dan's body, and I have listened to EVERYTHING in his catalog about six times (at the least). I also love his very melodic and sustained GROWLS, which he does very appropriately and perfectly.
When Dan sings operatically, everything he sings is perfectly-tuned, and perfectly suited to whichever song he is singing, with not only the CORRECT emotions and energy portrayed, but the perfectly-STUDIED and PRESENTED emotions and energy portrayed. Dan doesn't just SING songs, he LIVES them--particularly those with much emotion to be portrayed (in whichever way is entirely appropriate for the TYPE of emotion).
