In all respect, I don't think you really understand what is happening here. Alexandre is clearly losing the fight, he has to do something to change the course of it. Trying to get inside Nieky's head and hoping he let's go of his game plan, which gives Cosmo a change considering his power, is just strategy. It may take the form of showboating, but if you understand high level fighting, you can see that it servers a very clear (if unsuccesful) purpose.

For example go look at any tape measure and you won’t find 3’12, 4’12, or 5’12 because they don’t exist when measuring in feet…

I think he just keeps his cool and keeps working at a pace he knows he can keep up, sometimes he could get a finish faster by pushing when the opponent is in trouble but in doing so he would be exposing himself to a counter or to getting exhausted for no reason.
At that level counting someone out before he's actually out is a mistake.
