Hi enjoyed your video I have a euro mini and opened up the door sensor , opened up the alarm box and replaced the battery , and also opened up the fuse and put it back however now my panel doesn’t accept the user code at all , not sure what the problem is here but it was all fine before this any way I could just get it back to how it was thanks

Hi I need to change my alarm battery is well. I have a question for you if you don't mind many thanks in advance. do I need to turn it off from main?

@@ashdesai284 no you don’t need to switch the mains power off but be aware there may be live parts accessible once the cover is removed so if you aren’t confident you may want to employ a professional.

My alarm broke in 2017 I think and it went off at around 11 a clock at night and the battery went on it when I woke up the next morning it was flashing bf and I knew it was the battery and I guessed right

Hi I have a wooden door with a round door contact with and I am having a new PVC door fitted .so I will need to change the contact to an oblong one fitted can you tell me if I just change the wire over or not it's the same panel as you are changing the battery on verates 8 alarm

You’ll likely find it has a pair of wire for the alarm and a pair for the global tamper loop.
You’ll need to put it into engineering mode to avoid it going into alarm if you’re going to break the tamper loop.

Why not turn the mains off for safety or don't you need to?

engineer reset on tamper and lock the engineer code stops these cowboys ,
wrong battery , no date on battery , no charge voltage measured, no load or charge currents taken and recorded .
nice video on how not to do the job .
always get a proffesional in to do the job , you dont let people like this service your gas fire would you .

FannyAckin thanks for you comment. As a professional security installer all of the points you mention are valid and correct but this video is aimed at the average DIY’er or homeowner and not professional installers. Hopefully they don’t need UA-cam videos to know what do when servicing or changing batteries.

if have been to long in the service telecoms and alarms industry to know that there are some people who will save £1 if they can do it them selves and the vast majority of these people have no skills and are a real danger to them selves and others . we talk to people who have problems with there equipment and we never tell them to take the cover off and mess with any wires . you can not make enough allowance for what some people will do. you tell them to unclip the battery and they start taking the mains socket apart , yes really ! some of these DIY,s are that bad .

Incorrect, Didnt check charging voltage, output voltages, current draw ect, also didnt date the installation date

Hello Charlie and thanks for viewing. While your comments are totally valid I think they may potentially be beyond the average homeowner who just want to simply change a failed battery. With that in mind we've aimed the video at competent DIY'ers rather than professionals. Hopefully pro's wont need to check UA-cam to know how to change the batteries in an alarm panel!!
