Even gladia with her modules lvl alone lost 1/3 hp if she eat the whole missle barrage, but here a rat just eat 2 of the barrage, didn’t even flinch, truly terrifying

HG will just put her 2nd talent, up to +.9 sp boost rater than +1 sp. They're not generous when giving numbers in module for most of the operator. Just pray that HG will bless something good to carnelian 2nd module. I have no expectations either.

Phalanx caster's issue was never damage, it was and always will be slow as fuck cycle. Which is fixed for Lin but RIP carne.
This is the module I'm currently working on upgrading (I've only unlocked it - need to get it to MU3). Nice to see my initial assumptions about it were spot on.
I feel like Phalanx Casters get a bad rap because people just see them as Tanks on Ranged Tiles, and tanking has sort of gone out of fashion. Especially now that they have their Modules, Phalanx Casters should alternatively be viewed as insanely durable Ranged Operators that can be placed in more dangerous positions compared to other Ranged Operators.
I think its more about how the majority of stages dont need them at all. So others may not see them as priority compared to other casters like cores etc
players are already accustomed to normal defenders with high taunt *since they'll be the last to be deployed* . So a high-tile tank is a niche for veteran players mostly. If it's one thing Veterans hate to use, it's the niche operators.
@@flaria185 Yeah, a lot of stages don’t even have ranged enemies to hurt you with, or not ones threatening enough for a Phalanx. And sometimes, if they are threatening enough, they can kill the Phalanx too without a medic if their name isn’t Beeswax.
@@mloepostle62 bro I REALLY don't understand that mindset.. I've been playing since practically day 1 and I *love* to get and play niche operators. It's way more fun to try and make a strategy work with them rather than some broken meta operators like Surtr, Chalter, Ling, Taxes, etc. And if anything, I despise the truly meta operators as well because it doesn't make the game fun at all, and for me I get my enjoyment out of making less useful operators work to clear stages and doing close to lore accurate clears and stuff.

I didn't understand before this that her shield will only break if a single hit does more than the shield amount and never breaking if the damage (after being reduced by def/res) never exceeds it, which also makes the s3 increase to 600 a lot more impactful than I wrongly assumed, especially for incoming arts attacks. So not only was it wild to see that, it's actual insanity to then immediately learn that her module just turns a Phalanx's caster's main weakness completely on its head, actually making her _even tankier_ on-skill than off-skill (like wtf do you mean the lv3 module lets her ignore an additional 400 in physical attack, on top of the already near 900???) presuming her shield never gets broken, but ranged attacks that can exceed those amounts are so rare she might as well be a literal invincible god in 99% of stages and I am _so_ ready to see it in global. As an aside, I'm not sure if it's intentional or not, but I am rather happy that you cut off the first showcase when the new boss showed up. I'm assuming you specifically wanted to showcase how she can just ignore the missile barrage (?) and even use it to her own benefit, but it's nice that a viewer doesn't have to frantically skip ahead if they want to avoid such spoilers for themselves.
Im not sure if she could do it before mod, but she can tank Aak s3 like a champ now -which makes her the first arts damage dealer-strikethrough- to do if im right so even more nuke power!

All the other Phalanx can tank Aak s3 just as easily, Arts guards as well and ops from other classes that can deal arts trough skills like Broca, Lappy and the arts defenders.
Lin seems like a really strong module lvl 2 to me. lvl 3 seems really big investment for more DPS on someone that is mainly trying to be a ranged defender.
The extra 25% chance makes it much more consistent for gaining SP though, if you’re not going for DPS then you can just leave it at level 1. If you want more damage, try to go for level 3 rather than 2.
@@slonik0002 Yeah I think I'll actually keep it at lvl 1. Have plenty of other stuff to use rare mats on, especially if we are going to get another abyssal hunter on the first of may.
@@slonik0002 Truly well sorted developers in regards to game design. It's amazing how they fixed the more weak brawlers, like Indra, by just giving them 5 % HP and Atk more. Ha ha.
She just seems like a funkier mlynar imo some of her kit works against itself on what you intend to do with it but the module does help somewhat for skill cycling which she needed
Mint got shafted, Beeswax is good with upgrades because she gets 25% more Regen and doesn't die to burst (like from elemental damage) as easily. Carnelian's makes her actually live when she casts her skill on her own, going from 2,106 HP and 258/15 DEF/RES to 4.5k HP and 516/20 DEF/RES. It's a good module that addressed her survivability issue. However, it's a lot easier to fix survivability by using a medic than it is to fix damage (even if that goes against the point of the archetype), so her second module which (in theory) is more offensive focused and helps her SP talent would be better.
@@slonik0002 Scared? They're the same company who made Mlynar, ChongYue, Mountain and Surtr. They know FULLY well what they're doing. Giving the unpopular archetypes a module first was their best move to save the characters. Guards are the ones with the least need of a module.
still a map depend unit but damn when she pop she pop, the upgrade talent + charge carve out her use case more clearly so over all a great module( this will be a must have if i ever get lin). waiting for a carne module showcase tho, in theories it help out her survivability a lot which one of carne huge weakness so we can use her way more aggressively. I wonder how aggressive can,she be, cus 4k5 hp on top of 750+ def is kind of unbelievable huge for any range unit( i dont think most defender have that kind of stat).
Her current module isn’t awful, she does need the survivability it offers (and it offers a lot). Her 2nd module will be better for cycle time though most likely, and that’s harder to fix than survivability without a module.
Taking H7-4 where Patriot has higher ATK, max level, trust and mod Lin can survive with 78 health to spare under S3. I believe now Mint is the only Phalanx not capable of tanking H7-4 Patriot.
