- Hey folks,
after the telescopes tripod we want to discuss the most important part of our astro-equipment: The Mount.
This piece of equipment dictates all the following routes we can choose within this hobby: lightweight traveler gear or rigid setup for private observatory? Precise photography or easy to use "point and shoot"?
Join me discussing the most important features of your first telescope mount.
Clear skies!

I'm going to have some fun and make a Dobsonian GO-TO system connected to Stellarium on the computer. All the parts are with me - stepper motors, drivers, GPS, wifi, bluetooth, touch screen, joystick, software ... I should finish it by spring. I will share the experience ~
I'm looking forward!! Please share your experience! Would be a cool thing for everyone! Clear skies my friend!
This is decent!! This channel needs P-R-O-M-O-S-M!!!
Thanks a lot for your kind support! 😎👍
Says Sky Watcher on it, but that first one is the old Celestron CG-4. Both are owned by the Taiwan based Synta Corp so to be expected, same for my 127 Maksutov.
Thanks for the heads up!
@@catchingphotons Celestron bought out Zhumell too I discovered when I called the number on my share scope for a spare part and Celestron answered.🤣
I'm Still at Dobsonian type ...
I can totally understand that. But once you figured it out it's a mighty thing to use... Clear skies!
I appreciate this comprehensive overview of the mount and all its pieces. I'm building a travelscope right now for visual use only, but the diversity (in both shape and price) of mounts has been a real hassle in my research. As my needs develop in the future, I'll be coming back to this video for reference!
That's super interesting. Please share your experience with us! Clear skies!!
