Awesome to see this level of detail about this extension as there is so little easy to find useful information, as you said. I found this video super useful - thanks so much for sharing. 🙂
Received mine today for my az-eq5 and one thing I would recommend is to replace the top m6 screws that attach the mount head to the pier with m6 thumbscrews for faster setup and takedown when transporting it around.
it looks pretty stable, did you already try it out for imaging? i'm looking for one on my eq5 because i can't see polaris on my polar scope it needs to be 30cm higher and this seems perfect
Both! But now that I have my Bresser refractor, that will be taking over the visual duties. So the Evolux will mostly be Astrophotography from now on :)
Ahh bugger that's unfortunate. Not sure what the conversion might be but First Light Optics are great and give you a full postage price once you add it to your cart. It might even out since we don't pay VAT.
@@prettyaverageastro7409 Cheers for that. I’ve ordered one locally. Amazingly it was available. Cost wise, it’s often cheaper and quicker to order from Oz.
@@prettyaverageastro7409 Thanks, how did you find this out? I spoke with SkyWatcher USA and they said they don't make one for the EQM35 and that supposedly the HEQ5 pier won't work, at least not officially. Does SW Australia say otherwise or have it been physically tested?
Just going by the forums, Skywatcher don’t advertise it for the EQM-35 even though it has the same tripod as the others. Here’s a vendor who advertises it to fit. I would contact a vendor like First Light Optics if you wanted to triple check, they typically know more than the brands themselves 😄 www.robtics.nl/en/parts/5704-sky-watcher-16-extension-tube-for-eqm-35eq5heq5az-eq5.html
Be careful using it with tripod legs not fully extended, any discrepancies with balancing will be magnified by the smaller area the leg points describe. If any of that makes sense 😂

No worries Rich! Glad it helped 😄
Great video! I just bought the SkyTee 2 manual mount with the extension. Thank you so much💯💯
Glad my video timed well with your mount purchase. The Skytee 2 looks awesome!
The tripod extension is a good look on the heq5. Thanks for sharing 👍
Thanks Jeff, appreciate it!
I have the same one. After a small modification, I use it with the Bresser Exos-2 GoTo mount. Regards

Wow....I am definitely doing that! Thanks heaps for the tip, that will help a lot!
Outstanding video and thank you the pier is absolutely a brilliant idea with my bad back 😂😂
Hahaha thanks Steve!
You really have saved my back thank you
great stuff - keep em coming
Thanks, will do!

Thanks for this video! I received mine today and was rather confused as there didn't seem to be any instructions for installation.
No worries at all! The amount of times random people on the internet have helped me with other purchases, I'm glad this one helped you haha 😁
Ohhh, an Evolux! Visual or Astrophotography? Since i see also a guidecam.
Both! But now that I have my Bresser refractor, that will be taking over the visual duties. So the Evolux will mostly be Astrophotography from now on :)
do you use a cooled camera on a guidescope ?
I need one of these. How easy is it to remove from the tripod? I need to do that before carting everything outside.
Hey Paul, it's pretty much the same process as adding the mount to the tripod, the main bolt from the tripod spreader holds it.
@@prettyaverageastro7409 Thanks Dan. I mentioned you in an email to Astro Anarchy. FYI…They don’t ship to NZ.

Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Down to earth and honest. 👍
Anyone know if it will also work for the EQM-35 Pro?
Hey Stephen yes it will fit the EQM-35.

@@prettyaverageastro7409 Good to know. It's hard finding it available in the US.
