Do you prefer EVA foam or upholstery foam for head bases?

I myself have never made an EVA base, but I think I'd prerfer EVA, theres little to no carving, and it's almost always 100% symmetrical!

For someone who has never sewn or furred a foam head before I did amazing!! I did fleece on the face and fur for the ears and back of the head tho I wish I did it that way you shoed

I love watching you sew, especially kn the machine. It looks so clean and easy and satisfying. And then seeing the face all together and on the head. It's gorgeous. Also since the EVA foam is smoother and not as fluffy as upholstery foam are EVA heads cooler than regular foam heads?
Upholstery foam heads can look just as smooth

To answer though, it really depends on how they're made but on the whole EVA heads are cooler. It's less thick than upholstery and the finished product has alot less foam surrounding your face.

I saw your tutorial about "hiding fabric seams" and how you cut slits in the foam, but what about doing that for an EVA head? Thank you!
you probably need to talk about seam allowances - because your actual sewn pieces have seam allowance but your pattern making does not!
Im confused, im gonna use the canine base pattern to make my fursuit but idk of ill be able to use different shaped eye blanks for it? Also how do I make it so it stays on my head? Do I glue it to a balaclava or use elastic or both?

How does it look inside the mouth before adding the teeth and tongue?
I wonder if eva foam is easier to work with or less costy than regular foam
i mean, you'd need something to get the eva pattern a heat gun and a way to bond the eva so that can be kinda expensive and hard to get the hang of (and fumes i think?) meanwhile regular foam is just easy to shape urself
How do you go about lining the mouth? Also did you line the inside or do you just leave it since it is attached to a balaclava?

Not really, you still need some sort of stand, but I've seen some make their own (not sure how tho)

Usually 1-2 weeks, but I do this fulltime
