Random tip for anyone who happens to come across this: Try having a set of pins used for pinning things like this separate from your main set, because once pins get hot glue on them they're not too good for use with fabric anymore.
i know the subtitles and voice over says clay and clay is more accessible but ive noticed that the models in some videos look like theyre 3d printed which is cool (even if they aren't actually 3d printed its cool how they looks like that though)
I mention clay because that is what most people can do and I used to do that too before I got 3d printers. Now I just find it easier to digital sculpt the model instead

hey! mugi, i just wanted to say u have inspired me to join the fandom and now i just have completed my fullsuit! you are such a inspration to me and your talent is insane!

Hey! I have a pattern for slim digi foam legs. do you think it would be possible to take the foam legs, pin them onto a DTD and then tape over them to create a pattern like you would for non-foam base fursuit legs? in other words; taping up and patterning the foam legs like you would non-foam digi legs to create the legs and padding? If so what’s the best way to do the padding? Thanks in advance! Love your work!
@@MugiwaraCosplay Sort of, but using a pair of foam legs and attaching them to a duct tape dummy and then taping it over with the foam to create a pattern out of it along with the padding
A few questions, -do you think this would still work on a larger body size (300lb and 5’5 range)? -how well does it rebound from being squished once furred -if yes can it be stored squished up for a long time and still rebound?
1. You just scale it up to you own size 2. Pretty well, I see other makers use this method for padding and I couldn't tell it was foam. The fur didn't squeeze the foam. 3. I used this method for the Tasque cosplay, and even after it was stored away for a few weeks, the foam rebound back fine and still looked normal
This is awesome! I plan on purchasing this pattern off of Etsy. Would you suggest making padding pillows so they dont collapse while people hug you or is the foam enough to support?

Could you make a cow foam base because I really wanna see how you would make it because all of your designs are really cool!
don't have a way to make a minature leg or a program to scale it up. This tutorial isn't exactly the most useful for beginners.
You can use clay for the model, your phone to take the picture of the mini pattern, and Inkscape is free to download
You can just make a foam mini leg instead
How large do you upsize them on the printer? I want to buy the pdf but I have a horrible time understanding measurements and don’t know how to translate it into the printer size

I love digitihrade

You might need to adjust a bit but the digi feet patterns fit okay with it
yooo this vid is so helpful

Hey Mugi! What software do you use to scale the small model pattern size up?, and how do you make sure it fits your legs?
I fucking LOVE your tutorials!
What about if you don’t have a printer or a clay sculpture??
Then you can't really make the mini pattern. But clay is not that difficult to get
I would look at others patterns and make a mock up out of cardboard before you use foam so you can edit it and make sure the proportions are good
That’s me
I love it so much ❤❤❤ thank you ❤
This is awesome! I plan on purchasing this pattern off of Etsy. Would you suggest making padding pillows so they dont collapse while people hug you or is the foam enough to support?
The pattern is for smaller folks so if you’re bigger, maybe trace it with an extra inch around
Btw if anyone doesn't know the Slits are so it has a curved shape
That's amaizing ❤️ 👍😁
About approximately how much foam would you need ? Is 1 yard and 1/4 ok?
How do you scale the pieces accurately?
I have a question before I buy the template,
Is there a template for the toes or do you have to make them yourself?
There is none for the toes, I'm still working on that (I plan on making multiple ones)
@@MugiwaraCosplay oki thanks for the help, I think I'll buy the template when I get enough money. :)
Can this also be done with 1 inch thick foam if you are gluing to to leggings?
What do you do when you need it wider than the pattern but cant print it bigger because then it would be longer too? Plus size problems
This is very helpful for me! your videos are always so good. Thank you!
Why do you use two types of upholstery foam for these legs?
Thanks. And because the lower part needed to be thinner
@@MugiwaraCosplay I understand well! thanks a lot for you and your video, and I'll do my best to make my own fursuit.

Hey!! if you can, might wanna add this onto the description because some people may try and add different materials instead of upholstery:
Does other foam materials, Like EVA foam, form for this pattern?
I'm not sure, EVA foam is more stiff and better suited for armor than something like this
Would you consider making a video about how to turn this pattern into a drop crotch style?
You usually add drop crotch to the bodysuit. And on something like this you can just trim a bit away on the inner side of the legs
how would i wash a fullsuit with these legs? would they be able to be taken out of the fur or do i stick the fur to the foam legs? :3
You just take them out

How much foam would you need to make these like what size foam will 120cm x 80cm be enough?
how do you scale it to fit your legs? like how do u know what's the right size?
My question is how do u wash it if the fur is attached to the foam? I'm afraid of mold
I don't recommend attaching fur to the foam legs. You can make it removable for easier washing
@@MugiwaraCosplay ok thank u ❤
How would you make the fur removable? Would you need to use Velcro or could you just slip it onto the legs?
Can I use the same pattern to fur them as the pattern of the shapes but make the rest of the pattern of other parts the the foam isn’t covering and then attach them together or will it not work
I don't recommend that because it would have many unnecessary seams, you will still need to make a pattern
Is it possible for me to just buy the pattern without doing any of the measurements I don't really have a PC or any other tools 😥
The finished pattern is on my shop, if that's what you mean. But you still need to print it yourself, and adjust it if it's not your size
How do you determine where to put the cuts / seams? Is it just something that comes with time and experience?
Yes, trial and error
❤❤❤❤
would this pattern suit someone with a pretty small frame? im 5’4 90lbs (164cm 41kg) and was wondering if id need to scale it at all
The height would fit, I'm 163 cm
in my experience being a 90 lb, 5'5 person, I always preferred my legs and bodysuits bigger so you have room to grow into it if you ever gain weight.
Wow
Can you just fur it as is or do you have to add padding?
The foam is the padding, you just make a bodysuit for it
Do theses fit inside your bodysuit pattern?
No, none of my current bodysuit patterns are compatible with these. I will make a new pattern that fit with them
Do these fur well? So one doesn't need to stuff for taping the pattern on?
What do you mean? You would still need to make a bodysuit pattern

No, it's a part of the legs
