I wish her nothing but success and happiness whatever she does because she's got genuine talent, but Simon Cowell is a total jerk.
Unfortunately, these kids are seduced by the short term attention and large advance which means often the record company own their soul and they never end up recording anything notable because they have to record 'marketable' material.
For every success story Cowell chalks up, there are probably 20 who are left on the shelf and have their careers ruined because they don't fit his narrow criteria.

The girl did amazing but good God, Simon knows how to pull and fix talent in a matter of seconds. He felt something more about her and he got it . Hence why he's in the position he is in

Unfortunately, looking at the video of Simon judging every one auditioning that particular day, I noticed he was the only judge experiencing an emotionally sour day. Having nothing to do with the various talents going on in front of him.
He literally came to work that day
as one of snow white's dwarfs - "Grumpy."
It's too bad he didn't recognize it's him, not her, on the first song. Because he cut it off at the very second this young woman was taking it to the top! And it's infuriating to see Mr. Grumpy tearing it down because he had come to work irritable. 👎
The way I saw it, since she said she wanted to go big places and had big goals, he wanted to give her the opportunity to show off all her talents including songwriting and that would help her get a quicker kickstart into the industry
@@DearReaderReadAloud Maybe, for this lady, maybe. But if you watch that days auditions with everyone like I did , maybe you'll come up with what I did. Because it's really apparent he's in a sour mood that reflected on each poor soul that came in to audition that day. At least it still worked out for many of them. 🙂
Although Simon was rude to her at first he got the point across and she sang spectacularly she obviously has a voice for the music industry and besides that she's a very pretty woman I think she'll do absolutely outstanding she just has to find the right producer and the right record company to sing for I think she'll do fantastic but when Simon told her to stop and to sing from her heart I think that did the best for her that she possibly could have done on that stage I don't know folks you tell me what you think .
@@garymeredith2441 I'd have loved to hear the first song that she began to sing. 😢 And that's the way I truly feel about it. And you know, she had it all planned out - for how long- before she arrived on that stage.
I think Simon should have at least heard more than a couple notes. 😢 That's what would have been the polite thing to do and the respectable thing to do for the one performing.
Oh well it all worked out in the end for her regardless of whether Simon was right or wrong.
And yes I agree with you she's beautiful and has a beautiful voice and I think she'll go far.

@@Jaynecaninequeen everyone can be taught to hone talent in that which interests them. and requires much instruction , discipline and more, however some are born gifted in music, writing, specific sport and so on which needs minimal or no instruction in many cases.

Ok to be honest, her voice is very pretty (altho I feel like she could make it even better with maybe just a few vocal lessons) but I did not like the song. It was too cliche and just used a bunch of overused lyrics and words to describe still being in love with someone, I get that they're relatable but it seems like she barely tried. And she's never even been in that situation! I just think she should write more authentic and unique stuff cuz the whole thing was a little too cliche for me and it sounded like she was just another moody teen wannabe. I think she has talent, but other people deserve to win more (I'm sorry, not trying to be too harsh, I just don't get what all the hype was about)

The standard fare for any soft rock ballad. She's got a lovely voice, but Cowell will no doubt get her to lose the folky originality and quality guitar and turn her into another one of his identikit plastic artists, and any originality will be suffocated under sterile production and dull, formulaic pop songs . Cowell is to music what Macdonalds is to Michelin star cuisine.
