I've coached high school girls and boys for over 25 years. The most difficult part of the job is getting the girls to believe in themselves. They get down on themselves in a heartbeat. The fact that Ashley did not fold shows her strength and that she DOES believe in herself. So proud of her and her ability to deal with constructive criticism. She has inner strength.

To be honest when he stopped her the first time I thought he was crazy, but he knew there was more to her and that original song was simply amazing .For her to spend the day practicing other songs and to just come back and steal the show with an original shows her comfort zone is to be authentic.

I didn’t think she was mad about the song but I didn’t think she was trying not to cry either. There’s obviously something behind them, cause you can tell when a mother is proud of a daughter (and she should always be!). She may hide tears and excitement but you can see pride in her eyes.
