Very tight assembly but watching you proves it can be opened without it breaking , 1p coin ideal , looked at it for weeks not knowing where the second opening was , you made it so clear . Thanks so much
Great instructional video. Followed your lead and all done in 5 minutes. Upon doing a check on the car all the doors were unlocked and all the door windows were down. Is this normal?
Hi, thanks for the feedback. There is a feature with your car that means if you press and hold the unlock button, all the windows lower. Likewise, if you press and hold the lock, they all rise. Maybe you did this at some point? Is it working ok now?
Thanks buddy, I searched three other videos before yours all of which were telling me something completely different and which would have ended up with me busting the key. Much appreciated.
You're welcome, really pleased it helped you and thanks for the feedback :)

Thank you a lot! I managed to open the key easily, but I searched a way to get to the battery for about an hour, didn't want to break the key while on the road. At home I found your video and now my key's happy again, so am I ;)
This is a really helpful vid, I had a real issue putting it back together again though, after a bit of faffing about I realised the batteries I had were very slightly thicker, I’ve ordered some Panasonic ones so hopefully that’ll fix it
The Panasonic ones came today swapped them over and it all went back together very easily just like the video, thanks again for posting this video, very helpful
It comes and goes. When I spend the time and use 'working hands' cream it's not too bad, but if I have a run of stripping down locks etc it can get a bit sore. Any tips for looking after them?
Really great detailed video - gave me confidence to change batteries without fear of causing damage by ineptitude - especially when confronted by the tightness of splitting the case - would have given up at that stage and have been ripped off by dealer - thanks very much!
Excellent clear video..... changed mine in a couple of mins.... thank you very much. Mine also had a bit of gunge on it... no where near as much as your one though!
They should also last longer. According to one article the capacity is 235mAh for 2032 vs 170mAh for 2025. However I was not able to close the control with two 2032. I mixed the 2032 with 2025, not ideal but that’s what I had home as emergency replacement.
Thanks for showing the way into the key. Just one comment - It's better to use plastic cards(old bank cards) to open plastic cases. Almost no chance to put a scratch on the plastic.
Hey guys, i need to change the batery to. But if the key dies before i change it, will i be able to start the car? Does keyless work without the batery?
Hi Jack. Yes you'll still be able to drive the car. If the battery dies before, you'll need to open the car with the key blade inside the key, and then find the emergency start position. I've not made a video for this type of key yet, but I'll post a link to a different Ford to give you the idea
Hi, t be honest I don't know what it is. We see it every now and then on US keys, but never normally on UK models. No, I wouldn't worry about replacing it. Thanks for watching :)
Thanks! Did the first step but then got stuck, was afraid to break something. Your video helped to proceed to success. Why Ford made a battery change such a complicated process? Shouldn't it be easy and intuitive?
Thank you so much..exactly what I was looking for.. will get the Battery and straight to work..quick question..I read that time is very Import since some Information can be lost if u take to much time without Battery.. is that accurate?! Thx and greetings from Germany
@@TheCarKeyMan I didn't even try and I didn't know it. Now I started putting the key in the compartment in the local armrests, where there is a place for you, and so far I'm fine. I'm curious about the right path 🤷🏻♂️.
You just saved me over 100 usd. One of my acquaintances working in Ford told me this kind of key cannot have a battery changed and I need a new key.
And they work at Ford? Glad I saved the cost of a new key :)
Simple and to the point. Exactly how an instructional should be. Thank you
Thanks, really appreciate this feedback :)
Very tight assembly but watching you proves it can be opened without it breaking , 1p coin ideal , looked at it for weeks not knowing where the second opening was , you made it so clear .

Thanks Dennis, yes they have made this very tight, it feels like it's going to break. Glad it helped :)

That's always good to hear radman :)
Thanks again. 6 months after my last batteries went in the fob was going dead again. Replaced easily thanks to your video. 👍
Good job, they normally last longe than that!
@@TheCarKeyMan that’s what she said. 😉
To be fair I probably put in cheap batteries. Put in Sony ones this time so hopefully they’ll be better.
Thanks from Germany (Ford S-Max)

Thanks for watching Matt :)
Thanks for the good instruction video. Better than the car manual!
Thanks, yes it's much easier to see it than read about it, and this key can be a really tight fit.
Instead of CR2025 I have used CR2032 batteries. They have the same voltage but only differ in height. Two CR2032 fit into the key as well!
Hi Simon, thanks for the feedback, yes there seems quite a lot of room inside the key for the thicker batteries ;)
They should also last longer. According to one article the capacity is 235mAh for 2032 vs 170mAh for 2025. However I was not able to close the control with two 2032. I mixed the 2032 with 2025, not ideal but that’s what I had home as emergency replacement.

Dziękuję tobie za taki poradnik, mam pytanie czy do kluczyka będzie pasować bateria CR2032?
Hi Adam, it should be two 2025 batteries
thank you very much. Perfect instruction...at ford they really tried to hide the possibility of changing the battery for oneself
Yes, a bit of a puzzle when you don't know how. Glad it helped :)
Many thanks. Saved my nails and a few choice words! Great, clear instructions.
You're welcome John, glad it helped you and saved your nails!

Good day, is it possible that if I have a weak battery in the key, it does not communicate with my car, and then the car's immobilizer stops?
Hello Martin, yes is the battery goes flat in the key then the car will not detect the key. Have you tried the emergency start?
@@TheCarKeyMan I didn't even try and I didn't know it. Now I started putting the key in the compartment in the local armrests, where there is a place for you, and so far I'm fine. I'm curious about the right path 🤷🏻♂️.
