Between 10 - 15 seconds in, the notch between the mountains in the background left of center is where the Harrison river exits. My first memories in life were living in camp at Johnson Point, about 3 miles down the river.
I am very familiar with logging on the Harrison having done so in the early 60s and where you dumped the logs looks like a site I worked on the boom feeding a mill near Whonock in the 70s. I also worked up Stave Lake where we used a truck with 14 ft bunks off road loaded to the hilt.We had a 23 ft. on the butt while I worked there. Virgin timber at the head of the lake. Thanks for sharing your perspective on logging.
That was great to see some real wood and places where it comes from . Nothing like that in the East . Getting it on the truck was harder than the unload . Great video thanks for the scenery
Take a piece of bark, glue it to the dash and say "Look, real wood on the dash" 😅 (bad dad jokes) Good work on the loading and unloading! Very nice...and big, logs!
my record Cedar was right at 5', didn't have an excavator at the time, just the skidder and a worn out backhoe... Self loader jockey said nope, nuhuh... so in my infinite wisdom we parbuckled it over the side of my 20t tilt deck trailer.... behind a 1970 F600 gaspot ford... State patrol passed me about 3/4 of the way to the mill... eyed me and the truck for a bit... I looked at him and waved... he then decided it wasn't worth the paper work and kept on going lol.
So I ise to work in a log yard in New Yok State. I was in a John Deere 624k loader sorting loads out. I enjoy watching your videos. Are the logs you and other trucks haul only for lunber and cants, or do they do other cuts with them?
So I might have a job Point Roberts area... on the US side, but logs going to BC, won't be able to use my log truck on this one, cause its not CA legal (drop axles) not to mention my CDL isn't good fro crossing borders... you want in?
That big timber is very photogenic.

You're correct. My dad and I had a small there years ago, after Pioneer was taken down.

You did good and the Cat looked like an old 966. I got to ride on a barge with an Oshkosh mixer once. That was enough. Thanks, Pal and BLESSINGS!
Great video, great story!!
Truly beautiful scenery. Nice to see the Hitachi’s earning their keep. The EX-5’s are IMO the best excavators around. Thanks for sharing👍👍
I had a ex200-5 ,sold it at 17,000 hrs, still going, great machines
They brought you some big f’n wood!!

Pretty good chunks of wood there. You don't see that too often in coastal areas where it's close to civilization.
nice logs buds
i built road up the top end, a long drive in from Liloet
I've done that, you'll feel like your back heavy and very light steering. Ye-Haw
That place is beyond beautiful... What's the running gear in that Western Star?
Detroit DD15, 18 speed

Not really. The short truck costs near what the logs are worth to haul them,
@@skadill 10-4, Looking like I wont even have a passport in time anyway.
I think you only need it for flying, not for vehicle crossing
big wood there .
i didn't know those bars were spring loaded i thought he broke it. pretty country up there hopefully it won't get burned up by the commies, take care
There's 2 fires up there at Harrison lake right now, we have smoke all in the lower part of BC here now from it. people caused.
@@skadill I think it was a planned attack. Eco-Terrorism
Look's like your hauling to Chips A Hoy
Pitch rings and shatter
Bigger doesnt mean better, no gold here.
