I was surprised by Toyota too but if their information is truly from customers and a year behind it may show up next year. And I hear that Toyota is replacing the whole engine which is the right thing to do.
I feel like we need to start ditching our cars and use our bikes because cars are not that way they used to be before because back in the day they used to be tanks but now they're more than throw away cars.@@jeffmoody2831
I bought a Mercedes S-Class decades ago. It was built like a tank and I never had any problems. All the recent Benz' are rife with problems. Sad for a car that was the gold standard. German cars aren't doing very well. VW's are bad, Audi's are hit or miss. The only reliable make mostly down the line now are Beemer's, although it will still cost an arm and a leg to maintain. I stopped buying luxury cars years ago, they were just a waste of money. I now drive a modest car, and it still has features I could only dream of in my old Mercedes.
Glad I kept and maintained my old car. With current prices and a lousy economy, I made the right decision. Best of all, it's paid for. I've gotten used to no car payments. It's a liberating feeling I'm going to hold on to.
We have a 2022 jeep compass with absolutely no problems in 3 years of ownership. Never paid much attention to consumer reports. If I see a car I like and want, that's the car I'm getting, no matter what they say.
In 2013 I bought a Mazda 3 Hatchback I4 - it was nimble, safe, comfortable, and wickedly fun to drive. The 2.0 Liter with the 6 Speed Auto was ultra reliable with 35 MPG. I sold it privately after 11 years, it was snapped up within days. I bought a new Mazda with the same engine (2.5) Liter 4 and 6 speed Auto. Its the same: nimble, and wickedly fun. The "SkyActive G" engines and the Auto (no CVT here) are 'old school', but have decent power, with no turbo . Great value if you like small cars...
Warranty accruals is the best data out there but it needs to be obtained from the automaker’s financial statements because that is data they don’t like to share. At the end of the day, CR data is superior to no data whatsoever which is what most people have. I find interesting that people like to counter incomplete CR data with no data at all.
The time to argue that when no one cares and Chevy is gonna sell every single Tahoe, they make the minute hits the dealership people love Tahoe’s, and most people that I know with Tahoe are completely satisfied with them
As a previous owner of four BMWs, I concur. Not only did the cars become ugly, but their engine bays are now filled with plastic engine components which fail. The engine in my 528xi self-destructed because the plastic timing chain guides got brittle and failed, despite getting the car serviced as required. My first BMW was durable, I had put well over 200k miles on it before trading it in. Two relatives had told me that their Mercedes were really expensive to maintain. And Volkswagens, the former peoples cars, are now disposable. My very first car was a VW bug, and it ran forever. It was only replaced because it had no air conditioning. The term “German Engineering” now means that the car will reliably break down.
Consumer Reports is elitist liberal rich snobs. They seriously think a teen's first car should be a 25k Corolla. Yeah, my MOM drove a 1970 Toyota Corona 4 speed with no air, 120k, gas tank for trunk floor, gas cap behind license plate. I had a 71 Dodge Dart Swinger. We survived. Both were reliable. Their snobbery probably existed then but today it's totally evident.
Grand Cherokee for 8 years now, had 1 issue with rear camera that was fixed shortly after buying it. Have Jeep Gladiator, much of same parts as Wrangler and zero issues after 3 years. The biggest thing I worry about with new cars though is the elaborate infotainment systems where everything from radio to heater is tied to it.
I have a 2018 that is on its 4th transmission, air suspension issues, misfiring issues that no one can figure out, stop/start issues. Hands down worst brand ever
I've been driving for over 40 years and never had a telescoping steering wheel like you mentioned on the nissan frontier. The tacoma has the smallest back seat in a small truck.
Ok I have owned three Chrysler minivans including one Pacifica which currently has 104k. I sold the other three when they hit around 170,ooo miles, I never had a bit of trouble with any of them
Anything made by Stellantis group has poor reliability across the board including their Italian marquees. Also no surprise at all from Mercedes, always have been unreliable.
I have all but given up on enjoying new cars. They are just appliances now. We get my wife a new car every 5 years or so....... but I now just drive my 1990s-2000 cars. They are so much better. I just picked up a dodge dakota RT 5.9 for 3k and am putting some $$ into it to make it my daily. At 6-8k it has so much more character and personality than anything new.
I have an’08 Chrysler Sebring hardtop convertible. Runs really well with the big 6 cylinder. The only problem I have is getting parts for it. So many are out of stock
I like my 22 Frontier SV. Sure , some teething problems in first year ( redesigned intake , park brake recall, cruise control reprogram )but Im happy i didnt get the Toyota even though, to their credit, they are replacing engines and transmissions in their trucks.
What could you expect when past 4 years all these companies focused on BLM, DEI, Woke and ABCDXYZ trainwrecks? All those were a total waste of money and these wheels are too.
Hey everyone, let’s congratulate @2GoodLooking for naming the top 4 scapegoats of the decade! You really blew this one out of the water. Can’t wait for more insightful nuggets.
Wow dude, seriously wow, you are way off with this. And its embarrassing you quote and believe consumer reports, its been out as trash for years and years now.
all modern gas cars are moving towards smaller engines and adding turbos and CVTs, therefore all modern engines will not last many miles than their older engines of the 1990s and 1980s. This EPA mandate is making cars last shorter in lifespan due to harder working gas engines and high heat along with plastic parts in the engine bay. It is not worth buying a modern gas engine anymore if you care about keeping your car beyond 10 years, it will just not last that long anymore. I still have my 40 year old 1980s Hondas and Toyotas. LOL
I have an 2021 impreza 5 speed manual and I believe CR gave it an 80. I thought that was kinda weak at the time but,.....not now. Still I totally dissagree with 90% of what CR said about the impreza which so far, has been awsome and an blast to drive.
True to Consumer Reports form, not a whisper of Toyota's latest reliability woes. I am starting to think the Sun is a better source of reviews.
I was surprised by Toyota too but if their information is truly from customers and a year behind it may show up next year. And I hear that Toyota is replacing the whole engine which is the right thing to do.

Doesn’t tundra score 40 something?
@@eighty6films I wish all car brands would score 100 points out of 100
Why would I complain if Toyota is taking care of the problem ? … these are issues that aren’t being resolved

I do not take Consumer Reports seriously with vehicles.
WTF is this video? A regurgitation of Consumer Reports Nonsense
Yes.

I wonder how reliable is Consumer Report?

I find interesting that people like to counter incomplete CR data with no data at all.
And they want big $$$$$$$$$ for all these vehicles!
Consumer Retorts…
Worthless. CB

Theres way more than 10
German cars = money pit lemons and brand snobs, American cars = cheap boring lemons, Tesla appliances = for snobs,
Tesla is not an appliance for snobs they are more affordable then you think right now the real snobs are BMW Merc and Audi owners.
@feetforward75 And all of them priced in fantasyland.

I didn't see drango on the lost?
They complained about a 5000 pound 3 row SUV getting 28 mpg highway?
Jeeps reputation for poor reliability but mine has been great.
The Toyota trucks now need to make the list..
Funny enough they are still more reliable than these models here. Toyota will iron out the bugs so yeah overtime they'll get better.
Too bad the Chrysler Pacifica always, and I say always, get bad reviews. The Stow & Go is a really nice feature.
Yeah, gotta agree about the 2024 GLC300. Horrible brakes and transmission. Plus interior is full of hard plastics. Huge regret
Well no surprises there
My bronco is definitely not a disappointment I love this truck

The only dinosaur truck left is the least reliable?
Thanks for the info Dave!!
This guy doesn't know anything about cars! Nissan has a telescoping steering. Also, I find the ride quality to be better than most.
This is based on Consumer Reports. Thanks, Karen.
Damn dave 😂😂😂😂 great clap back.
I've owned a newer nissan frontier and no, it doesn't have a telescoping steering wheel. That is now on the updated 2025+ nissan frontiers.
I mean….its the same list every year with one or two exceptions. Have a Lexus GX.
It’s fantastic
Great videos!! Dave, I always watch them!

Avoid anything Stellantis.
The 2025 Honda Civic is not a very comfortable vehicle. I had to order a seat cushion for the driver's seat.
My daughter has a newer Accord. Those seats are horrible too

I've always thought the Tahoe's and Suburban's were overated. Too much money for these gas guzzler's.
So basically avoid the big 3 Chevy ford and Chrysler, nothing new there it’s always them.
I wanted a Taos but everyone says they suck
Sorry to hear about the Tahoe. Been around forever and still can’t get it right

Good job thanks
