Beautiful stuff, I really ought to check out Crimson Peak and Cronos. Pan's Labyrinth and The Devil's Backbone are some of my favorite films ever made, and I can honestly say I didn't notice about half of this stuff or its significance, thanks for sharing!

The past you Carry with you is never dead, it's not even past! Beautiful line! Glad you touched upon the significance of items in this video... There are layers of narrative underneath the central story.. great analysis! 🤗🎥

ive been trying to define for awhile now a similar concept, ive been stating as some objects have poetic value. Keys, clocks, mirrors, vlod, moon, flower, door, light bulb, toys, necklace, spoon, etc.

I don't get it.. cause let's be real, the materialist critic.. not that I defend it, go as deep as describing art as materialist. I like your definition, but I just think the intelectual term is much more radical than that. I had people call me materialist, when if I go by your terms, I'm not.. since I don't really care of how much something is monetarily worth. We could make this even more interesting when we anylise Capitalism, not only bad but good and neutral people in general, rich or poor will do things that do not generate riches.. that are soly for the beauty or emotional value of it. Those would be normal people of many different backgrounds. I know I shouldn't take it too seriously, I just thought it would be interesting to dive in this.
