  • Richard Strauss's Horn Concerto No. 1 in E-flat Major, Op. 11, TrV 117 was composed at a young age (19 years old) and is considered one of the most significant horn concertos in the classical repertoire. Reflecting the characteristics of the Romantic period, the piece consists of three interconnected movements built around a single thematic line, notable for its elegant melodies and technically demanding horn part. Premiered in 1885 in Meiningen, the concerto was influenced by Strauss's father, Franz Strauss, a renowned horn player.
